Comptoir Libanais Broadgate
The menu is vast offering such things as halloumi croissants and sumac dusted scrambled egg on toast for breakfast; falafel, chicken or lamb kofta wraps and fresh salads for a light lunch and mana’esh (Lebanese flatbreads) , marinated grills and tagines for any time of the day. There is a long list of hot and cold mezze dishes, such as lamb kibbeh, chicken wings and baba ghanuj served with Lebanese bread – perfect for sharing.
To drink, enjoy any of the homemade lemonades including pomegranate and orange blossom or a fresh juice, pressed to order. There is a variety of unique cocktails, created using authentic and unusual ingredients, such as rose water and arak. Lebanese wine features heavily on the menu including Comptoir’s own label, straight from Bekaa Valley.
Good quality lunch.
Amazing service! Thank you for helping me surprise my friend for his birthday! Food was delicious, amazing atmosphere and lovely, patient staff. Also some great beer. Thanks so much!
Service was very slow although the place wasn't full. Waited 10 mins after ordering cocktails to be told they didn't have the one we ordered and the replacement we chose was brought with no garnishing, they were just pink liquid...
Whilst the food was wonderful, the service was really poor. Not enough staff to cope with the amount of people coming into the restaurant. Took over 20mins after ordering just to get drinks at the table. Staff were helpful and friendly, but clearly rushed off their feet with what looked like only 2 people having to run the lunch service.
Wouldn’t advise going if you have a strict lunch break of an hour only.
Very good food but the place was over noisy - mainly due to the high volume (club?) music. Felt really tired of shouting all night...
This is a super restaurant , fun and buzzy. Food is great and very authentic.
However we were very unimpressed by our waiter telling us that our 12.5% service charge was not actually a service charge and they only 'got a tiny bit' and we should therefore give him cash, personally. He tried to pressurise us to pay up and this was particularly unattractive.
Always good place to meet and the management are great.
The place was nice but very noisy. It was difficult to speak and listen to each other.
The food - I asked for a hamburger, small piece of meat and the potatoes were with a lot of garlic. Personally, I found the food expensive for what it was. I am not sure I will go again.
The best of the night was the company.
I love the food and the staff is very friendly. One of the best places to eat or for a coffee within Broadgate Circle.
Busy branch in Broadgate Circus. Great food, plenty of veggie options and for large parties, sharing options. Diners are tightly packed and therefore I was disturbed several times by waiters trying to get into tables. Friendly staff and definitely book if you want to try.
Fabulous staff and food! My parents had never tried Lebanese before and were converted! £150 total including three bottles of wine and three beers + mains and desert to share
The service was average. Not particularly attentive. The food wasn't great. Everything was covered in coriander which was very overpowering.
This was a lovely little find. The staff were friendly and helpful. The ingredients all round were fresh and tasty especially the mint and citrus in the drinks. The lamb fattet was really delicious and the tagine was lovely and tasty as well. The mezze was lovely and the baklava was the best I've had.
Very nice place to celebrate your birthday!! The food it's really good, the service was fantastic I will definitely come back!
I would like to register my disappointment: I had this booking confirmed to 26/01 at 23h00, so I left my home (a 30 minutes trip) with my husband and 2 children expecting to have a nice dinner, but unhappily when we arrived at 23h05 the restaurant was closed.
How come that your website says it would close at midnight, and there was even slots to be booked at 23h30, the site let me book, send me a confirmation, then I get there and find the place closed?!
We ended up having to eat something at Liverpool station. =(
Rushed and chaotic service
Nice, friendly waiting staff, casual, large menu, many soft drinks
The food is exceptionally good, delicious and very imaginative. The restaurant is very popular, but unfortunately was terribly noisy at lunch time. The waiting staff were friendly and charming.
Overal just a very good experience. Cant fault it, friendly and tasty, service well excellent!
Lovely for lunch, great atmosphere. A bit under staffed for a Friday afternoon as our drinks arrived after we had finished our food
Good location for catch up over dinner with friend. Tasty food. Would come again.
Came here for a post theatre meal with my mum, and also met my boyfriend.
We received a warm welcome, and attentive service but not over burdening. The drinks were delicious, I can recommend the Apple Jack cocktail! We went for mezze and all the dishes were served in good time. It was so yummy - fresh & flavorsome.
When we originally arrived it was a little quiet but as we were there more diners arrived and so the vibe picked up a bit. Really friendly staff, would definitely go again.
great way to have a long lazy Sunday afternoon, catching up with friends and family. Unfortunately as the majority of the menu is based around lamb or chicken and they only had chicken that day it did narrow the choice somewhat!
this place needs to really look at what they are doing, although I BOOKED for 12 people, they were not prepared for us, the cocktails were terrible, watered down, the staff was not attentive, i had to tell them what to do, just crazy. such a nice area broadgate but the restaurant never rose to the standards for the area, my guests just kept complaining and \i was embaressed really
I love the food but the place gets so busy that it’s hard to even hear the person sitting next to you. It doesn’t help that the music is way too loud so the ambience at lunch time isn’t great.
Very vibrant and energetic venue. Quite cramped but very good service and food. Great for a quick lunch or snack. Excellent coffee!
Unfortunately a disappointing visit. Both our starters and mains were very dry (falafel wrap with no sauce?) and we didn't enjoy eating them. We felt rushed in and out as they wanted our table to add to a bigger party; we were actually given a dessert menu after our starter and then a waitress came over so we could pay the bill, but our mains hadn't even arrived yet. This was a birthday meal and we wished we'd gone somewhere else!
The food was really mediocre it came about two minutes after we ordered so seemed microwaved. The tagine were 90% couc cous hardly any meat or even veg or sauce. Definitely wouldn’t reccomend
Here's the thing: the food was delicious, just way too little. After eating a main dish for over 10 pounds, I was still really hungry. It was literally half a portion, and I'm the kind of person who often doesn't finish restaurant portions. Very frustrating experience.
Amazing food and service. The music was very loud. We will be back though.
It is as lovely sitting outside after work. Food was unremarkable. The service, however, was pretty dire. I thought the service person seemed annoyed we were there, was scarcely to be seen and after a seeming eternity after a starter we had to ask where our food was. Given we ordered salads there is no obvious reason it should have taken so long. I would describe the service as surly.
a must go to place, excellent food and great service. I will certainly be a regular
The food and service was ok however I had made a booking online for a table for a business lunch at 12:30pm. At 13:15 (after only 45 minutes) we were advised we would need to leave as the table had been booked for another booking. We had finished eating and paid our bill however I had not finished my drink which was promptly removed from the table before I had a chance to drink it so that we would leave. I found it quite rude to be asked to leave after 45 minutes when I had a booking for the business lunch meeting. Also the "home made" lemonade that I ordered tasted like it contained artificial sweetener which I am allergic to and I was in a lot of pain after the meal.
Great casual lunch spot with reasonable food, huge glasses of wine and outside space. Recommend!!!
The food is as good as other branches but the staff here are outstanding. Really welcoming, accommodating and friendly. We never felt hurried and were given advice without feeling it was being forced upon us. It can get quite noisy but I will not be worried to take other friends there as I know we will be welcomed!
Lovely restaurant. Fabulous food.
Can’t wait to go back.
They were wonderfully accommodating for the baby
The music was just a bit loud and everyone had to shout, even after the lunch rush
We were shown to a table and then ignored while the supervisor and two waiting staff were having a chat with diners at another table. Eventually I gained attention by frantically waving both arm in the air - two female waiting staff then had a short discussion as to which would attend to us. I ordered a bottle of red wine to start and after 15 minutes it had not arrived. I mentioned this to a passing waiter who said he would look into it. Still nothing! Eventually I saw the supervisor waving two glasses and a bottle in the air and after a little while a female waiter took them, walked round the tables and eventually to us - success! NO - she was about to put the glasses down but then walked off with them and the bottle - back through the tables to a male waiter whereupon some remonstrations occurred. He eventually agreed to take the glasses and bottle and brought them to our table. The food arrived quickly and was good. The female waiter asked us if everything was alright with a ‘couldn’t care less’ attitude. At the time the restaurant was only 30% full so the staff were not busy. My wife and I generally eat out on Fridays often returning to the restaurants we like. We will not be returning to Comptoir Libanais. It needs a replacement of supervisor and customer care training for the waiting staff. For anyone looking for a similar type of meal and a good bottle of wine for around £60 I suggest that they try LaTasca round the corner where the staff generally care!
