Good service with very tasty food at a reasonable price, what more could you want?
Comptoir Libanais is a chain restaurant which we had noticed in a few locations at home and abroad, but had never tried until now. The atmosphere was buzzing and friendly - we immediately got talking to the couple at the next table who were visiting from Hong Kong. Service was reasonably good although it took a while to get the greeter to understand that we had booked a table and we struggled to get our bill at the end of the meal and had to ask for it more than once. The food was quite healthy, but very tasty and I would recommend it. The reason I couldn't give this restaurant a higher score is that the portion size of my meal was very mean, as I told the waiter when he enquired. There was simply not enough food on my plate for a main course. I can understand the restaurant's desire for strict portion control in relation to the seabass I ordered as this is an expensive part of the meal, but there is no excuse for being stingy with cheap ingredients such as rice and salad. My partner ordered lamb and when his meal came the portions were much more generous, so maybe I was just unlucky?
Food was AMAZING.. service was good, nice place . Would definitely recommend and re-visit.
This was the third time I have visited this restaurant. The first time was fantastic... great food and great service. The second time a bit disappointing ... great food but terrible service.
The third time was ok service but the food was not good.
Won't be visiting a fourth time.
Food was excellent, location is great, staff were nice and prices are cheap
Reasonably authentic middle eastern cuisine. Good service. Small plates are great. Would definitely be paying a visit again.
The food was very good as usual and came out fairly quickly. It was presented very nicely. The service was good, servers always friendly and helpful which is good but we did have to prompt twice to order more drinks and waited quite a while for the bill to be given to us but as we weren't in a hurry it wasn't a problem.
The tables are a bit too close together in the outdoor area and we found that it was difficult to carry a conversation without raising your voice.
Great food is delicious and healthy. Beautiful surroundings and a relaxing place to eat and drink
Good food and service, look forward to going again
TERRIBLE service - we was the only table that booked (told by the waiter) - it took us to stand up and go to the reception area to order as no one attended our table, we then didn’t get the correct amount of starters, which the staff didn’t really pay much attention to when we mentioned we had starters missing.
We had to keep walking up to the reception area to ask for drinks, etc
We asked for condiments, which one of the waiters rolled his eyes and took his time to come back to the slam them down on our table!! Staff didn’t make us feel welcome and the overall service was really poor! Really disappointed
Unfortunately service was very poor and the food was cold. Would not recommend.
Lovely food n great service! It was a pleasant late afternoon lunch. Would come again
Really enjoyed the food and the restaurant. Went with my boyfriend and throughly enjoyed it. Will defo go again
The service was the slowest I've had in a long time. The two waitresses seemed more in their own world than willing to take orders. Waited 20mins for drinks even after having to get their attention to order. The food was okay but the sea bass was quite bland. My partner had hair stuck to the bottom of his flat bread which had been cooked into the dough. Service charge was added on without asking & we were only a party of 2. We eat out a lot & thus was the worst in a long time.
Great service and nice space outside to be able to enjoy the weather as well as the food.
The starter was fine but all 3 of the main courses were very poor
Great food. We had a very small table an struggled to get all the food on it, so i was a little uncomfortable. I almost left a double tip as 10% goes onto the bill so make sure you are aware of that! We ordered bottles of water but later saw people had table water which irritated us as we would of liked to of been offered this instead. Next time it will be table water and a request for a table to fit 3 hungry people.
Food and service good, didn’t mind the service charge been added to my bill, however I wasn’t happy to find out and that it doesn’t go to the waiters/waitresses. So had it removed and gave tip directly to waitress.
Lovely atmosphere and great food
Very nice place and ambience. Great food and very kind and attentive waiters. I would go back if I lived in Manchester
Very friendly, food and wine excellent as usual, it was hot so it was nice to sit outside.
Excellent food, friendly service and excellent value for both food and drink. All round good dining experience.
Good overall, love the decor, mixed meze was great, my chicken tagine was dry unfortunately.
I made a booking for 10 persons, it was a leaving meal for me which I wanted at my favourite restaurant ... we had to wait a the reception for 5 minutes to be acknowledged and then they had to get a table ready when I made the booking the day before ?? limited on time so this waiting just ate into it everyone seemed to enjoy the food when it arrived ... my chicken wings could of been a big more well done... skin was very slimy and underdone
My husband and I had the most wonderful evening here on Saturday, the restaurant was buzzing with atmosphere when we arrived, filled with couples, families and friends all having a great evening.
Even though it was busy our waiter Mauro, was friendly, professional and tentative, taking time to explain in details what was on the menu and periodically checking if we were ok.
The food was well presented and delicious, with a great selection, especially the Mezze Platter, giving a variety of tastes and flavours, we both enjoyed.
We would definitely recommend this restaurant in Manchester due to great atmosphere, customer service and food, thank you for a wonderful evening!
The staff were charming, helpful and friendly.
We shared a cold mezze starter plate which was delicious however we were all disappointed with our main courses. Two of us had different tagines which were both quite dry and one had a lamb burger which wasn't great either. This was a real disappointment after a great start. Would like to try again but this time would stick to a selection of mezze dishes.
Loved the decor and ambience.
Unfortunately I am not sure enough to wholeheartedly recommend to friends.
Food was excelled. Service a little bit slow but it was worth to wait
Food was amazing! Everyone loved it
Staff were lovely although it was very busy and worth tipping as they still manage to be attentive despite all the full tables. The vegetarian options are great and the food was very tasty and well put together. Great portion sizes, we couldn't actually finish everything. Drinks menu is extensive and lots of nice mocktails for those who don't drink. Great location as The Alchemist is just round the corner for post dinner drinks. Great value for money.
We booked a table of four for a very special occasion and informed the restaurant of this in advance (my two best friends were getting married the next day). The restaurant was terribly understaffed and although the girl waiting the tables did her very best (she was on her own!) the service was painfully slow all night, our desert did not arrive (yet was still on the bill) and the restaurant made no attempt to mark the special occasion (even just an acknowledgement of the special occasion would have been nice).
The food is great at Comptoir but I was so disappointed by the service this week that I will not be going again and certainly wouldn't recommend it for a special occasion.
Tried here for the first time and was impressed. The menu is not huge but caters for many tastes, and the pricing is very good. The food tasted really nice and is a good place to eat for many occasions.
Unique and memorable restaurant. My favourite place to dine when in Manchester. Enjoy the Lebanese beer Almaza every time as well as the baklava.
The food was lovely, best lebanese I've had in the UK, but the service was terrible, we waited about 15 minutes for drinks each time we ordered a round, however the food arrived quite quickly, sort out the slow service and I'll come back.
We felt that adding a service charge was a bit much as the staff really didn't earn it on the night.
We had a very nice meal. The food was good and there was plenty of choice. The service great too.
Excellent food and friendly attentive staff. Would recommend!
It was ok
Lamb shank was very good
Lovely food and a great atmosphere. Staff were great. I would definitely come again.
Great place to eat. Good food. Great choice of different types of food. Not expensive. Have set menus as well which were great value and good choices available. Nice choice of drinks too. Great decor inside. Authentic. Went with 5 other friends. Good for afternoon lunch or early dining. Great central location. Will return.
Impromptu visit with my eldest son. Lovely food, lovely service, lovely atmosphere would definitely recommend and will be returning in the very near future.
Fancied some Middle Eastern food and although this is a chain we really enjoyed the food. We had a mixed meze for 1 and Kibbe and spicy sausage. Then a flat bread with minced lamb between us. Plenty of food. Finished with mixed baklava. The Lebanese house wine was fine too
Nice service especialy by a lovely Columbian lady who explained everything to us.
