Comptoir Libanais - Manchester
Visit us for lunch and dinner as we serve our guests all types of interesting and colourful dishes, including hot and cold mezze – perfectly sized for sharing- wraps, salads, tagines, grills and Mana’esh (Lebanese style pizzas).
For dessert, nothing is more authentic than the sweet taste of baklawa – Lebanese pastries in a variety of flavours such as date filled semolina and walnut filled flaky pastry. All products can be packaged up and enjoyed on the go.
Restaurant is really beautiful.
Very cold everytime the door opened, people were sitting and eating with coats on. They had no chips, which I can never understand why restaurants don't go out and buy chips/potatoes if they don't have any?! Was served mini square roast potatoes with a burger. Which was nice, but unnecessary.
Nice food and drinks, cute decor but quite a loud place, not relaxing ambiance - the staff kept bumping into my seat when they rushed through the restaurant which was annoying. It would be better not to have a table right in the middle of the restaurant if there isn't enough room to serve properly.
Had a lovely lunch with girlfriends.food very tasty and a good portion size.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Excellent food and service
Good honest food in a lovely and warm welcoming environment my only criticism is that there was too much yogurt sauce over the food masking the fantastic flavours of the meat next time I will ask for the sauce to be kept in a side dish.
Cannot wait to go again
Service and food always good. Very relaxed atmosphere. Also in many other places music is so loud you can't have a conversation, but here it's fine.
I had salmon grilled for my main course, it was delicious i totally recommend it.
The food was ok; we were a little disappointed as we had previously eaten in your Chelsea restaurant and I was raving about the chicken moussakhan. Three of us wanted the dish on our visit to Manchester, but unfortunately it wasn't available that night. Otherwise the food was ok. It was the service that was really poor. We asked for extra flatbreads and despite being quiet they took a long time to arrive - perhaps 20 minutes, we had to ask 3 times for them. Customer service was poor - we weren't asked once if we had had a good meal. It was rather disappointing really as it was a birthday treat for 3 of our guests, which I had stated in the booking. Unlike some restaurants no mention of our birthdays were made
Used to enjoy it, but the service was slow, then the noise level, as it so many places these days rose. So we sat in a circle on our mobile phones, unable to talk and waited for the delayed food to arrive. We don’t drink much for health reasons, and driving, so slowly getting drunk or noisy like the table next was out.
It’s getting so that I avoid going out in the evenings especially where clients use the place to drink, or there’s background music that everyone has to shout over. There’s nothing worse than trying to have a conversation over a female singer in full passionate mode, or in this case, full on mad Lebanese wedding music belting out.
Great Lebanese restaurant in the heart of Manchester!
The thing that I didn’t like is that they brought the side dishes first then after a while they brought the starter with two mains and after we finished eating they remembered to bring the third main dish. I don’t like to complain but I’ll not consider coming again.
Waitress asked my friend and I to round up the bill to make it easier to calculate the maths in order to split it. Thought that was out of order as there is a service charge and tip already automatically added to the bill.
Fantastic authentic Lebanese cuisine, which you can tell is all cooked fresh and from scratch. The decor and atmosphere was top class, so we'll put together. Will absolutely be back in the future. P. S. Get the mixed grill.
Very good food
It was a quiet Sunday evening
We were a family of 5 and had a mix of different dishes - kids liked the chicken burger and sauces
The lamb shank tagine was really nice.
Fatoosh was fresh and with a nice dressing.
Lamb kofta was tasty and the sides were good.
Price reflects location.
The meal was fine. Nothing wrong with it but it didn’t blow me away. Service okay until we wanted our bill and waitress was sidetracked by another party and asked us to wait. It was taking a long time and we needed to leave so had to go inside to pay. As we had asked for the bill first not sure why we had to wait.
I was very disappointed with the service. The starter came in dribs and drabs, I had to ask several times before it all got served. I struggled to get the attention of waiters, even ordering food was difficult to grab a waiter as they ran by as they don’t make eye contact with customers , it was supposed to be a surprise for my daughters 18th but when we arrived the staff had no clue and I had to practically tell them that others would be waiting at our table to surprise my daughter, To be honest we were happy to finish our meal and get out of there. No special efforts were made and staff were not attentive. I paid the service charge that was added to the bill but with hindsight should not have. Even when they brought the cake out staff were not warm, just desperate to get into their next customer. I felt we we were a burden on the restaurant just being there.
I won’t be returning as customer service is everything to me as good food can be had everywhere in Manchester but good service is the key to reattracting customers.
I was going to complain on the day but my daughter asked me not to and I didn’t want to further ruin her party.
Really sorry you guys can’t serve customers the way they deserve to be served.
Really enjoyed the food and service . Not too happy with the fact that they add the tip to the bill for you . Happy to tip good service but not a fan of being pressured into it
Really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. First time trying Lebanese and it didn’t disappoint. We went for the feast so we could try all of the different mezes which were part of the starters. Really enjoyed the main of mixed grill and an aubergine dish on cous cous. Dessert was lovely and came with a selection of baklava which was very tasty. Service was great and we wasn’t rushed when we wanted a break after having the starter and mains which were very filling.
Service was slow due to no staff really working. Our waitress was good but overworked which led to the slow service. They were out of a lot of items on the menu. Just overall a bad night
Fab food as always, beautiful flavours. Service excellent, staff could not have been more helpful or efficient
It was a very nice meal and overall I would recommend it.
Lovely fresh healthy food in a clean and pleasant environment with attentive staff.
I was really excited, the staff were lovely and polite and it's gorgeous inside and lovely and clean , but staff completely forgot about us and an entire course we ordered
The food was ok ,I was hoping for more as i have a couple of local Lebanese places so I thought these might elevate them and no salt to hand which probably would have helped
It was expensive for what it was really so I'd say OK ,but I wouldn't go again
We were rushing to pay the bill because of catching a train. We paid the bill and left a tip which the waiter thanked up for. What he did not do was make us aware that the bill already included a 10% service charge. He took the money and disappeared. Only when we were on the train did I see the service charge. I know this is my mistake for not checking but in other more honest places the staff have pointed out the service charge before taking a tip.
Excellent food and great atmosphere. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable of the food. Would definitely recommend a visit. I am looking forward to my next trip.
Excellent food & wine. Helpful, friendly staff & nice ambiance.
Service was really poor, staff seemed disinterested and charge service charge as standard. The food was good, and the service during my previous visit was much better
Overall, it was a fantastic place. They do lack waiting staff which was the biggest issue. And although it was a bit pricier than I would like, I would be going again
Friendly and attentive staff.
Food very flavorsome.
Will definately be going back!
Love eating here! Food and service is fab!
We had a pram and the staff were very accommodating. Good recommendations by waitress and food was very tasty
First visit very enjoyable will return when next in Manchester
Lebanise restaurant made for British people. Good houmous tho
Really enjoyed the food here, great selection for vegetarians service was quick and friendly, will definitely be back again
Good choice of dishes, nice atmosphere. Average price for wine and cocktails for city centre. Right in the middle of Spinningfields so handy for shopping and transport.
We’ve been here quite a few times but this time we didn’t think the food was up to it’s usual high standards, still nice though. We also thought the prices had risen quite sharply.
Really lovely evening, the food was delicious and very good size portions. We also had cocktails and non alcoholic drinks for the designated driver which we great! The service was also excellent.
Would definitely recommend and will be returning.
Had a really nice evening here. Food was beautiful, good service and pleasant staff. We will be back. Thank you.
Fantastic meal, service good and nice and quick. Never had Lebanse before and the menu had plenty of options. would recommend
They have increased the value of a wrap from £5.40 to £8.40.
When paying, the lady at the checkout also added a 10% "service charge".
It was my dining alone, not a group of demanding customers.
