Always one of our favorites, this was the first restaurant we've been in since 3/13/20.
Food outstanding as always. Tables well spaced, and they've also turned the parking lot into a socially-distanced dining room. Everyone was happy to be there, from us to the staff. Can't wait to go back.
Great restaurant! The food is amazing and it was great to eat on the patio( not in a parking lot)
Nothing special. Definitely not going there again.
Too pricey for everyday dining
Connie and Ted's scores every time. Impeccable service, great food and a reasonable price.
The worst service ever. Three of us had finished eating prior to the fourth getting their food. We were there over 2 1/2 hours for lunch, most of it waiting for our server. It was an awful experience. Have eaten here many tines before and it was so much better. Huge disappointment.
Seated quickly upon arrival. Fish and chips were outstanding. Service was good. Definitely worth putting in my rotation
Birthday. Walked around the corner from home.
Colleen is the best server, she loves her job and has a "smile" even with a mask you can see it.
The food is delicious as usual. Happy that you are getting through this miserable pandemic and taking all precautions to protect your employees and patrons. It is such a staple in the neighborhood, it was great to sit down and eat with my neighbors.
It was windy and cold. The heaters not that warm. Asked to be seated indoors where it looked like a hurricane came through. Sat back out on the patio. Paper on the tables - just didn't feel like west LA. ANYWAY- ordered the chowda- watery, no flavor and just not good. Ordered the dozen oysters - was told I'd get a really "big" one, per chefs selection, didn't. Asked for it and was charged. The highest thing- asked for a warm whiskey drink. Brought back approx 2 ounces of a cocktail in a huge glass - I couldn't believe it- for $15.00. The lobster roll was just ok, my husbands fish and chips was light and crunchy but... zero flavor. Onion rings were superb but other than that I was uncomfortable, cold, disappointed and just overall irritated by the seating the food the soup... everything. I wanted to love the place. But just didn't.
Excellent venue, private setting, service was excellent and the food was great! Perfect for a birthday celebration.
Had a wonderful experience! Our server was great along with the rest of the staff. Especially Jose M the busser.
Consistant, top quality seafood. We've been regulars since they opened, never disappointed.
The food and service were fantastic, as always, despite the pandemic. This was our first dining out experience since we were allowed to go back into restaurants at 25% occupancy, and we were very happy to be there. Ambience is beside the point when you're eating in a tent on the parking lot but we were lucky and got a booth to ourselves so even the ambience was good.
Had dinner there last night. I’ll start by saying the food was terrific (literally every dish we ordered). On the other hand, it was my first “snooty” restaurant experience since well before the pandemic. It was unfortunately quite cold last night at our table street side under the tent. We all had coats on but it made little difference. We had one heater about 4 feet from our table. They would not seat us at a different table, despite several that we could see which were available. They would not bring over another heater, despite many under the tent not in active use (not even turned on). 15 minutes before we finished the meal a maitre d’-type came over to the heater nearest our table and moved in a foot closer (still several feet away) and then rushed off, without acknowledging us or saying a word. That’s it for me for Connie and Ted’s (and Providence for that matter).
The ambiance of rating in a covered parking lot is a price we have to pay to enjoy good good and support restaurants during these times
Everything was delicious and the service was outstanding! We had a great experience!!
Fresh seafood and nice outdoor space.
Awesome, friendly service and delicious food. They made it a perfect, delightful experience for my family member's birthday celebration.
Very cold! We first tried to eat inside but no heat so we went outside. However outside windy and cold even though some heaters. Food very good but prices much higher than before Covid
Great food and service
Lovely as always!
So happy this place thrived through the plandemic and is busy as ever! What great ambiance, service and food! The staff is always so welcoming and on point! Love this place!
Love Connie & Ted's. It's one of our most favorite places to have seafood. Never disappoints.
Connie and Ted’s never disappoints. The food is excellent and not over priced. My friend had a cup of chowder and the fish and chips and I had the delicious burger. Tyler was our waiter, who I have had several times and he is always terrific.
Excellent service and food. Avoided oysters due to price. COVID precautions excellent. We'll be back!
Service has really gone down at this place. Wont be coming back.
Super expensive for not great tasting food.
Amazing! Outstanding service! The food was delicious!
I had such a longing for Stuffies and Crabcakes that nobody can satisfy like Connie&Ted's. It is my version of the right kind of comfort food served in a cool and non-scene way. I'd eat there daily if I could. And don't be shy about trying anything on the cocktail list!
I have thoroughly tried and enjoyed everything on their menu!
Leanne is exceptional, per usual!
The service was great. He was very attentive the food was delicious!! We got the fish and chips, fish tacos and to start the calamari and the oysters!! Yumm
Server was really good
We love Michael Cimarusti, we've been to Providence and Connie & Teds many times before, including during COVID, generally its been a great experience, but this visit was really disappointing. With a Health Board mandated 90-min limit, it was 45 min before our chef's choice dozen oysters arrived. They were delicious as always, but it wasn't that crowded and it normally takes less than 15 min to get served. If we weren't sitting in a parking lot under a tent it might not have been such a big deal, but its a long time to sit twiddling your thumbs.
We ordered a large winter salad (baby kale, kalamata olives, tangerine slices, avocado, and feta, a perfect umami combo), which was also delicious, but they brought a small instead of a large. The waiter apologized and brought another small, but then charged us for both, 50% more expensive when it wasn't our error.
I ordered the monkfish with herbed crust, which was delicious, if a bit small of a portion for $30. My wife had a steamed lobster, which was way overcooked and $60/lb. We shared the seasonal vegetable (roasted carrots w/creme fraiche and maple syrup, arguably the best part of the meal) hot buttered rolls, and a bottle of red wine from Provence. We shared a blondie for dessert.
Despite the issues with service, we still tipped 20%, I feel like food service workers deserve support in these tough times. Our bill came to $400 for two, which felt really overpriced, especially since we ate at Mozza the weekend before, ordered an equivalent amount of food and wine, and it was under $300.
I understand that times are tough for restaurants, which is why were doing all we can to support them (Broken Spanish pop-up at Neue House this weekend? check). but the combination of high prices and poor service really left a bad taste. I would come back for oysters and wine at happy hour, but I think this was my last time for dinner service. There are just too many other chefs doing more for less.
Food and service exceptional as always!!
TLDR: good, expensive, so-cal style seafood place, but not as new englandy as I hoped.
I'm a new england transplant to LA (lived in italy for a few years too), so my perspective may or may not be in line with yours. This place did decent renditions of portuguese fisherman's stew and stuffies, but not the best. The linguica they used was too smoky, and it tainted the rest of the food and the soup needed some kale to round out the traditional flavor. But the seafood in the dishes was surprisingly nice for LA. The crudo and grilled calamari were pretty nice too. I tried one of their local ciders, which was better than most american ciders, but not really up to the quality you'd get from nice new england places like farnum hill, west county or citizen cider, or french ciders. Born in east LA cocktail was probably absolutely perfect for someone who likes beach party drinks, but I was not a fan. I was tempted to get the lobster roll, but not for $36. The service was very american - hyper friendly and lots of check-ins and small talk, if you like that, but I prefer to be left alone. They were impeccably fast though. It's in a really ugly modern building, but I'm impressed how many people they could safely fit there and in a dining tent during these covid times. The price is way too high for the quality, but if that food were 1/2 the price in a little mom and pop place in MA or RI, I would have been pleased. If you're looking for new england here, keep on looking, but if you like a more general modern american seafood vibe, then give it a try.
Outdoors in a tent due ti COVID. Lobster roll and clear chowder were excellent.
BEST SEAFOOD IN WEST HOLLYWOOD! HANDS DOWN! EAT EVERYTHING. GET THE OYSTERS, CLAMS, MUSSELS, GEM SALAD, LOBSTER...the list goes on!! We try to come here once a week because it is THAT GOOD!! Matthew the GM always has a smile on his face ☺ and we are here for it!! Thank you!
