Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Reston
Celebrating a birthday. Waiter And service was great
Wine selection is great
Disappointing, as we'd heard good things about this place. The wine is good and relatively inexpensive, but the food we ordered ranged from mediocre (e.g., glutinous sweet and sour sauce dumped over calamari, which would have been fine otherwise) to inedible (my filet medallions, ordered medium, arrived thoroughly charred). The burger I substituted for my returned steak was OK, but nothing special, and by that point, everyone else had finished eating and I was barely even hungry anymore. The service was friendly and attentive and she did deduct the price of the filet without my having to ask. But in this price class, the food should be at least as good as the wine, and it simply wasn't. And both because of the building design and the popularity of the place, this restaurant is also very loud. Looks like a good bar scene for happy hour, but we won't be returning for dinner again.
This is the third time in a row that we had very mediocre service. Waiter goes away for long periods of time. No check back. Never gave me back my cooper hawk card. Very disappointing.
The food was good. We were celebrating a birthday and informed the waiter but he forgot about it. It was very busy and noisy in the restaurant.
Food is wonderful and there’s something for everyone. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made great suggestions.
What a great place to eat, I wish we would have eaten here sooner. The service was exceptional and the food was great.
I would have rated the service higher and I want to make clear that our server was VERY GOOD, but it took a LONG TIME for our food to be served. The server, Richard paid good attention to our table and took orders for drinks and food in a very timely manner. Drinks were brought out quickly, but as I said, the food order took much, much longer than expected. Richard did not let us know that it was taking any longer and so we were left wondering when we might be served. Finally, when we ordered dessert, several of us ordered the Creme Brulee, and then were informed that it was not available. Overall, a good experience, but it could have been better. I will definitely return though as it is a favorite when visiting the area for business.
Wonderful family dinner experience.
Great food and ambiance. Service was ok but got entree with no silverware. Had to ask our main waiter to get it. Then dessert came with no silverware. Again, had to wait for our main server to come by and ask him for silverware. The servers that brought the food did not stop to notice if we had any utensils.
Great first visit for lunch. Wonderful food and service.
I always enjoy the wine tastings; they are a hit. But the food is the real star. Love it!
during the heat, they should put more fans on outside where people are seated.
My husband and I both truly enjoyed our experience. Our waiter Wesley (Wes) was amazing. We will ask for him everytime we come. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.
Some of the best food in the area and their desert wines are definitely worth having
THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED.
Do not go to this restaurant if you expect even the most basic form of service. The night started with sitting at the empty table for about 20 minutes until someone came by to get our drink order. Another 20 minutes go by until I have to actually ask for our server to bring bread to our table. They then proceeded to give us our appetizers and entrees at the exact same time. Who does that? I asked them to please hold our entrees so that it doesn't get cold while we eat the appetizer. I was expecting that our server will follow up with us and take note of when we finish the appetizer to bring out the entree. LIKE A NORMAL RESTAURANT. But that did not happen. We waited 35 minutes until I had to find someone and ask them to bring us our entrees since we have been LONG done with the appetizer. Once the entrees come out, I noticed that two of our orders are completely wrong and the person who ordered medium rare steak now had beyond well done steak due to the extended time under a heat lamp. And to top it off- during this long dinner of mostly waiting, not once were we asked if we wanted to order more drinks or had any refills of our waters. I would not have written this review if this was a one time experience. Sadly, I have a similar experience every time I dine here. I will no longer return to this restaurant until something changes.
The service was spectacular. Great server great personality great advice. Brussels sprouts were the hit. I liked the bisque, but my son/hubby weren’t used to pieces of veggies. Husbands steak was over done but mine was great. My veggies were spectacular (life balance medallions). My sons NY strip was ok in taste. Daughter liked her crispy pork. She didn’t like her tuna and the server was quick to replace with shrimp. Did the wine tasting (lux) and diff wines with dinner. All the wines were “light “ for their varietal. But we think this must be the winemakers style, to suit more palates.
The food and wine are excellent. Service is leisurely but friendly. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable. A great value.
Relaxing restaurant with very good food. We had the Sangria White and I highly recommend it. Great time
As always, great food and service! Hence why I keep coming back!
We love coming here. Great ambience and food. Today we had exceptional service which made it even better. All in all an amazing birthday dinner.
Lovely and fun evening...loved exploring all the different types of wine. Can't wait to go back and have some more almond wine!
The last three times I’ve been at Cooper’s Hawk in Reston the table service has been great but the kitchen service seriously lacking. It has taken forever for food to be served. They have been out of Brussels sprouts one of their signature appetizers because they ran out of sauce (how does that happen?). Last night they lost our dessert. Given how horrible the parking is, I wonder how often we will return.
As always - the food and service was fabulous!!
Soup and salad combo was just perfect for lunch. Nice variety of choices. Thanks to Jasmine for attentive service.
Our waiter served our before dinner cocktails and served our main course a few minutes after we received our dinner. Kj
This was the worst dining experience I have had in months! The service, food and atmosphere were horrible! So disappointing. I have had good experiences at CH in the past but that seems to be a thing of the past. They had no risotto (this was 7:00pm on a Tuesday) and the pretzel bread came out at the END of our meal as did the Glass if wine we ordered in the middle of the meal. The grouper was not edible. Will not return.
We truly enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate our anniversary at Cooper’s Hawk. Thank you for the delicious food and the ambience.
Great value for your dollar. Upscale food and dining experience with reasonable prices.
Good is always great, and Jorge is an excellent server!
Diaz was an excellent server. He was very friendly, attentive, courteous and committed to providing us an outstanding dining experience.
Excellent food, fantastic wine selection, staff professional and helpful. Always an enjoyable meal
I always love dining at Coopers Hawk their food never lets me down. Enjoyed every entree and the wine tasting.
I normally love Cooper’s Hawk. Today the service and food were not good. Not sure what is happening
40th wedding anniversary!
Food was good but service lacking. Had to look for waiter when needed something even though not busy. Took while for food and drinks to come out after ordering. No iced tea and no coffee because machine broken.
Food and service were great. We sat outside so the noise level was good. (Inside is always noisy AND cold so glad we had an outside table.) Waiter, Shane, checked on us often and ensured we were satisfied, so thanks specifically to him for our great experience!
Perfect service, excellent cuisine!
We had a great time and the food was very good. appetizer portions were a little large. Wish the waiter had mentioned that since it was too much food including our entres. The wine tasting is great however if you like one of the wines you have to join their wine club in order to buy a bottle of the wine which we didn't like. We don't drink enough wine to belong to a club, which is why we didn't give a straight 5-star rating.
