Really disappointed experience overall. Atmosphere is lacking - nothing on the table at all and it was not particularly clean. Service was very slow and were only a handful of parties in the restaurant. My salad was pretty good but no bread or anything which would have been nice addition. The cocktail was excellent. I won’t eat here again.
As always, breakfast here was excellent. We got the blueberry pancakes and the quiche and they were both great. The atmosphere is casual fun and the brunch is amazing everytime.
This place should be better. Had the duck hash and the broth was super salty, almost inedible. The rest of the dish was good, but the grits I ordered on the side were also undercooked and very gritty, not creamy. They give you popcorn instead of complimentary bread, which I would prefer. They don’t provide toast or biscuits with a dish of eggs and potatoes at brunch. Seems kind of cheap. You also have to ask for salt and pepper. Really? The restroom could be cleaner and better maintained (loose seat, difficult latch, paper strewn on floor and the restaurant was nearly empty!). It’s not like they were slammed with customers. Finally, they re-set a table nearby and left popcorn on the floor. Inattention to detail. The prices are quite expensive so overall not a great value. Service was fine. They’d better watch out, there’s a lot of great competition around!
I went a year ago and a friend and I shared the bacon blue cheese mussels. They were delicious and there was plenty of it to share. I have been craving them ever since. I just went again and I was excited to get the mussels again. Well, it was still the same price but now it was in a small bowl with two pieces of bread. I was with a different friend this time and I was embarrassed that it was barely enough to share! So we had to order the Baked Brie appetizer. Another $14 that I didn’t intend on spending. I wouldn’t suggest bringing kids here also. The waiter said they don’t have a written kids menu but he spouted off that they had a sliders meal or Mac n cheese meal. My daughter got the sliders. Maybe it was my mistake for not asking price, but it was $12 for 3 tiny burgers. I figured it would be about $8 or $9. Definitely not worth $12. My daughter only ate 1 of the burgers because she didn’t think they were very good.
I am very disappointed. This place has really gone downhill. That is probably why there was nobody else there at prime dinner time. Other friends of mine went a year or two ago and had a great experience then went again in November with out of town guests. They also were embarrassed with how mediocre the food was. I believe they got the fried green tomatoes and short ribs, just like last time. This time, not so good! I don’t know if you have a different kitchen staff, but you need to get back the old staff!!
Great ambiance and great food! We went at 11 a.m. for a Sunday brunch. Our party of 7 each ordered something different and everyone loved it. Nice atmosphere w a fire burning on a cool day. Will go again!
We all loved our mains which consisted of the pork chop, the venison, and the french onion soup. The sides were good and our server was on point. This place is worth another visit.
Came here for Saturday brunch and it’s a cute little spot. Fun menu items and good atmosphere. They had popcorn with BBQ seasoning. Interesting mix. Wasn’t a fan at first but keto eating it while waiting for food and it kinda grew on me. There’s an outdoor patio and will come back to dine outside when it’s warmer.
Restaurant was not crowded on a Friday night.. that should have been our first clue. Service was descent and the food was mediocre at best. Probably won’t go back.
It was a great experience. Delicious food, we weren’t rushed by the server and he was very helpful in making menu suggestions.
We were really disappointed in our meal at Copperwood Tavern. The first thing we noticed was that the interior is 'worn'. (tear in the bench seat, stain on the wall next to the table, etc.) Next, we were disappointed to find that at 1:00 in the afternoon, they would not serve their lunch menu, only their brunch menu. While our server was very pleasant, it took forever to get our food. When it did come it tasted mediocre and was only lukewarm. Lastly, when we got the check and saw how much it costed, we were shocked. We do not intend to go back and we certainly would not recommend it to a friend.
Friends get together.
Overall good food and service. The issue I have with the restaurant is the lighting. There are these awful overhead fluorescent lights shining into the dining room, completely ruining the ambiance. The lighting makes you feel like you’re being interrogated. The restaurant seems to have a good attention to detail, you’d think they’d do something about the lighting.
Great food! Andrew was an exceptional server with great personality and recommendations for the evening meal.
The food here is awesome along with the beverages and service!
Service was nice, but very slow. Lobster Mac n cheese was very, very salty. At 7pm, some dishes were already sold out. Disappointing overall.
Great Christmas Eve Dinner. The food was great, the service was outstanding, they took my reservation and made contact to confirm. We were seated immediately upon our arrival. We elected the bar area to make our time. My only thought would be that they have chairs with backs on them in the bar area. Some did, just not at our table. Please add more of those chairs, it would have been perfect.
Great food and service!
To damn loud for a xmas gathering. ok for a small party. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Copperwood Tavern is good ... the food is good as is the service. But it is too expensive for the experience. It feels more like an everyday bar & grill and it is priced like a bistro. When I pay these kind of prices, I expect a different experience.
The food and service was excellent. I had the rabbit and it was cooked to perfection. Service was a bit slow due to large Christmas parties. The server was great and made up for it by offering a complimentary beverage. Wonderful place for date night. Will definitely come back.
This was my first time to Copperwood. I am definitely highly impressed and we are already planning and looking forward to going back again even though it is not super convenient to where we live. There were four of us and each of us loved the food that we got.
We went for Thanksgiving Day dinner. Although the website said they were serving a turkey dinner, the menu we were given had no mention of it. We had to ask the server who was lackadaisical at best. Tiny little corn muffins were served with honey butter- they were cold and reminded me of the children’s food in those play kitchens. They had an extremely limited spirits menu, all of them local. We tried two of them. We ended up sending one back because it tasted terrible. The rice based whisky one I ended up pouring not my coffee and even that didn’t help. We weren’t offered a choice of appetizers- Caesar salads showed up and I deferred mine since I don’t eat salad. Nothing was offered to replace it. The sliced turkey breast was served on top of the crouton stuffing and gravy was already poured over it. It tasted like chicken gravy. Everything was cold, tasteless and dull. A teaspoon ( if that) of cranberry sauce appeared as a bright spot of color on the plate and did that well. No other vegetables were offered either hot or cold. Desserts were the usual from their everyday menu- no pumpkin anything was in evidence. My companions chose the ice cream in a waffle bowl. The ice cream was good. The waffle bowl was soggy and then the consistency of raw batter which they said tasted like bis-quik on the bottom. They ate the ice cream for the most part. I had ordered coffee. It was barely warm and tasted stale.
This was the worst, most insipid and uninspired Thanksgiving Meal I have ever had the misfortune to endure in memory. I have been inspired to go back to cooking my own holiday meals from now on.
Great food, great service great atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and visit!
Disappointed with the seating. My guest had cataract surgery recently and could not receive direct light. We asked for a different table and was told others were for 4 and reserved. Monitored the situation and they were not reserved.
Came here for brunch today..this has been a go to favorite for months. Today there were issues with slow drinks service at 10 am and the food took a long time to come out of the kitchen. I especially wanted to share the steak and eggs taste was off this time..could not pin point the reason but the overall experience was just ok.
The service was ok but my family was underwhelmed with the food. For example - I ordered the lamb and it wasn’t warm enough or fall off the bone cooked. So overall a so-so experience.
The food was good, the service was great, and it’s a nice place but not worth the price. We got the chicken which was way overpriced at $24 with no sides, and the spaghetti squash (a vegetarian dish). 2 entrees, 1 side, 1 beer and water came to over $80 with tax and tip - a little too pricey for what we got, IMO.
Copperwood was fabulous! the One Loudoun location is rustic and cozy. We went for brunch and ordered the fried green tomatoes, scotched egg, lobster benedict, and steak & brussels salad. Everything was really good - especially the benedict, which had a bunch of lobster on it. Delish!
The staff treated us very well! We’d love to go back. Everything was delicious—especially the devilled eggs, oysters, and several versions of eggs Benedict.
Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, our meals were all excellent, cooked to perfection and we all felt the quality and portions to be equal to and or better than Eddie Merlots at 1/3 of the cost. No shade on EM. Our waiter was outstanding, extremely attentive but not to the point of overkill. The cocktails and beer were also outstanding. The atmosphere is truly spectacular and the fire pits and fireplace add a beautiful touch during this time of year. This has been my favorite dining experience in recent memory. Thank you, we WILL be back😁👍
Great food and knowledgeable, attentive service! The waiter's recommendations were terrific!
Atmosphere was great, food was prepared well and came out in a timely manner. Staff was pleasant
It was very disappointing to see the table they were going sit my wife and I at. The worst table in the restaurant, a tiny table on a island by itself in the front of the restaurant, almost by the host stand. The host offered us the 2nd worst table right next to the bathroom. We sat there and it was ok but really disappointing when we had reservations. The food was great and we had a lovely meal but the start was rocky and made me wonder why we even bothered with a reservation. Not sure if we will go back anytime soon.
Very friendly staff and unique decorations.
Food was not great for the price. I had some sort of steak salad and the meat was mediocre and tough. The menu was very pricey and did not fit the casual decor and ambiance. I probably will not go back.
Great food and great service. Loved sitting on the patio with my doggie.
Copperwood Tavern proved to be a refreshingly different dining experience. The food and service were excellent. The decor is modern rustic, albeit a bit stark. The hard floors made for a slightly noisy atmosphere with too much echoing. I gave the lowest rating to value, as the food portions are relatively small for the price charged. I will consider coming back for special occasions.
We were delighted to find that we were early enough for the one-dollar oysters. My wife and I both ordered six on the halfshell, and six grilled. Served beautifully with several sauces. Because we were so early (had to go to an event in the area) and didn't have huge appetites, for our entrees we both chose a grilled Brussels sprouts salad with steak. Excellent. The server was brand new, but handled our order with enthusiasm and got everything right. If we lived closer we'd make the Copperwood Tavern one of our regular dinner places.
Great food! We will come back
Like atmosphere and the way staff interact with patrons .
