About
I visited this restaurant on Saturday (27/10/18) for brunch with my partner. We were very excited as the reviews were quite good. Overall the food was ok, but not amazing, and there were barely any options for people who do not like spicy food. The real problem came when I ordered a coffee and found a hair, floating in it. This was incredibly off putting. I realise that things like this happen but, although, the staff were apologetic, I was given a replacement coffee which I then still had to pay for. I think that good customer service would have taken the coffee off the bill or would have at least offered to do so. There are too many brunch places in London to risk going to this one and not being offered proper customer service. I have had lesser issues at other venues and have been treated much better. Not worth the money.
Great buzzing atmosphere, delicious fresh food
A bit expensive for portions size and quality. Standard mexican but not worth the ££. Nice ambience though and if you're in for a light eat that's slightly expensive can be a nice experience.
Amazing, authentic food in a lovely setting. Good, personal, easy going service. Love Corazon.
Bit quiet on a Fri lunchtime. Great fish tacos
Nice restaurant with excellent chocolate desert. It is a fun place to go for sure. A little on the expensive side for what you get but overall a tasty enjoyable experience.
Great Mexican food in an informal setting in Soho. It is an independently owned restaurant with individuality. The staff is friendly and passionate about the food. There are small dishes of tacos (in line with current trend of small plate dining). I recommend the contramar, a delicate tostada with tuna and also the delicious the ox tongue. Also larger plates such as the amazing turkey mole. Good selection of wine and cocktails too.
Creative Mexican cuisine. Brilliant service, particularly given we were late and one of my friends is a super fussy eater; the waiter was patient and very knowledgable about the ingredients of each dish.
Great food and friendly staff. Wine by the bottle a little pricey tho!
The place is cute, the menu interesting, the cocktails creative. It’s exactly the sort of place you think you’re going to love. Unfortunately it all falls apart in execution. Feels brilliantly designed and under-managed. The poached eggs in the huevos rancheros were wildly over cooked and the rest of the dish under-seasoned. The tortillas in the chilaquiles, which, classically, should be both the textural and flavor foundation of the dish, gently softened by the sauce but still toothy, were straight from the bag, barely covered in sauce, forming a distractingly crunchy and dry mass beneath what might have been an interesting cover. In both cases, you sort of got what the executive chef had in mind, but equally clear that the line is undertrained. Last, the service, while fine, also shows signs of under-management. Stations left uncleared long after guests had departed, no attempt to upsell a second drink, etc. The one major positive was the cocktail, a grapefruit and tequila combination that was both interesting in conception and well balanced. I might have had two of anyone had asked.
Food was outstanding, and the Jasmine Tea Margherita was lovely. However the experience was somewhat marred beforehand by being called twice to confirm the table reservation and each time being told in no uncertain terms they only do 1.5 hour bookings. This was re-iterated to us on the night aswell - twice. Hardly makes for a relaxing , casual experience. The food was fantastic though.
Staff are very friendly and happy to advise on popular items on the menu.
Great food and nice atmosphere. Somewhat expensive for what it is (tacos) but the atmosphere is relaxed and it’s a nice place to have dinner with a group of people. Cocktails are good too.
We loved the food, service and the vibe. Great to see the tapas serves upsized from two to three when there were three of us - why doesn't everyone do that?
Delicious authentic Mexican food in a very nice and cozy setting. Service is amicable and professional. Little gem nested a few steps away from Oxford Street...
Food was excellent, quick and efficient and very tasty!! Would totally go back!!
Another great meal at Corazon, I always enjoy the food and the service is always friendly and attentive.
Just extremely average food. Can’t say we have really enjoyed anything. Very very loud.
Great service. Good food. Created great non-alcoholic cocktails for two of us as well.
La comida excelente. Los tacos muy buenos. El guacamole excesivamente picante, pero en líneas generales se come realmente bien.
Found this place a month or so ago with my wife. We've since returned with our children (5 and 8) for dinner. Staff is very friendly and accommodating to children to include bringing a couple books for them to read that were age appropriate and in the theme of the cuisine. If you like Mexican food, definitely go eat here.
Amazing! The food and drinks and service were all flawless
This was our second visit, this time in the evening after a Saturday lunch with friends a few weeks ago. Both times the food was very good, every dish full of flavours with some unusual and inventive options. However, the experience in terms of service and atmosphere was very different. Of course it was busier, livelier and noisier on a Friday and even with our early evening booking (5.45 - the only slot we could get) the small restaurant was full. We were well aware that we only had the table till 7.15 but we were never allowed to forget it. From the moment we sat down we were rushed to order, asked for drinks only moments after we'd got the menus. The end-time for our booking was mentioned a couple of times by the waiting staff even though we were confident our meal was progressing comfortably within the time frame. In the end, feeling hassled and not entirely welcone, certainly not relaxed, we queried it, to be told they were worried that the kitchen wouldn't be able to cope unless we ordered desserts quickly. If your kitchen can't cope don't accept the bookings! Oue main waitress seemed distracted, got an order wrong because she was watching a colleague rather than listening, and she cleared the table quickly, before we had all finished, and intrusively - at one point I had her arm reaching across my face while I was speaking to my companions because she didn't bother to go round to the other side of the table. A real shame as the food is good, but we won't be going back.
Fantastic service - friendly staff
The reviews of Corazon are all so positive, which made our very disappointing experience there all the more baffling. The tacos were tiny and very expensive for what they were. The sweet potato on mine wasn't entirely cooked (some bits were hard) and it was very bland. My friend felt similarly about her fish taco. The sweet corn dish was good as was our dessert, but we both left hungry and quite amazed at how so little food had cost so much money.
The food was tasty and vibrant, but I did think it was expensive, especially for a mid week lunch. The place was pretty quiet so obviously there's not much lunch time trade. Why not do a special lunch menu?
Wonderful and authentic Mexican food in a convenient location. Service was excellent too. Will definitely be going back!
Very nice, just an honest wee taco shop. Value for money was fair, drinks were nice, staff were very friendly. Can't really go wrong.
Great food, great service and great atmosphere! Would defo recommend and go back again.
A favourite spot in north Soho -- great food and independent restaurant vibe. Tasty healthy Mexican food and great cocktails. Buzzy and convivial.
Good food. We ordered the special but the meat was too dry and tough. Otherwise all good. Friendly staff
Food was really good. Thank you for accommodating us by not putting in coriander in the dishes we have ordered.
Filter coffee wasn't warm at all though..... didn't end the meal on a high unfortunately.
Booked Corazon quite last minute for a Friday night get together. Great choice. Great food and cocktails. Will return.
Nice little venue with great food and original cocktails. Good staff.
Corazon is my favourite Mexican restaurant in London. The tacos are fantastic and don't miss the esquites, it's such a delicious corn dish! Frozen margharita's are also worth ordering. Fun, relaxed and great staff.
Very flavoursome food. Portions are a good size and everything feels fresh and delicious
Tasty food and nice space, although portions were a bit on the small side - if you're hungry, you'd need to order more than a plate each to cover yourselves I think! The floor manager didn't really exert himself to make us feel welcome, but other members of staff made up for that. Orange and black pepper margarita certainly packed a punch -!
My family and I dined here for a relatively quick pre theatre dinner. Food was inventive but still the children enjoyed it, pleasant attentive staff. Very satisfied.
Limited menu and very poor bar selection... Wine on tap was undrinkable, as was the house margarita. Tacos were decent but fairly small and limited in choice. Glad I tried it, but can't say I'd go back. There are far better Mexican options in London.
Great tacos with a variety of fillings, all very tasty and spicy at the right level. Nice 1950s decor which looks authentic even if it's 100% fake.
