Located in London’s Notting Hill at 92 Kensington Park Road, Core by Clare Smyth is a modern fine dining restaurant with a strong British ethos, in an elegant, relaxed interior.
Thu - Sat 12pm - 2:00pm and 6.30pm - 10:00pm
I don't think I've ever felt so welcome at a restaurant. Warm, friendly, attentive staff who appeared genuine and interested in our experience. The food was incredible. We decided not to have the tasting menu due to a large meal shortly before, but will be returning for this very purpose. We felt it superior to Le Gavroche in atmosphere and warmth; the restaurant isn't too large and has an open, light feel to it. It's an absolute must for foodies.
Fantastic food great service wonderful ambience excellent advice from sommelier. A truly wonderful restaurant.
From the state of the restaurant to the quality and originality of the food
The waiter who presented the menu did not mention a supplementary course of truffle linguine was available. I did not know that unil i overheard the waiter explaining the menu to th next table....
We also stressed that we did not want to swap the supplementary course with a course in the tasting menu and we just wanted an additional dish but the waiter did not seem to understand (we spoke to another table that night and they had the same problem)
Other than that, a spider crawled from the flower decoration of one dish onto my arm and we informed the waiter about it. He breifly said sorry once and left us with a napkin and that was it. No sincere apology was given AT ALL......
Otherwise food was good, esp the scallop, duck and the appetizers

What can I say great restaurant went for the taster menu and it did not disappoint the food was lovely the staff are very friendly and attentive but not over the top tried things on the menu that I would not normally go for and Clare s’ sauce s are brilliant the restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere and it’s great that there is no dress code highlight of the night was having our photo taken with Clare Smyth.
Exquisite food. Clare Smyth is a genius as elevating everyday ingredients! The service was good but slightly awkward. The flight of wine was great. Would HIGHLY recommend.

This is an excellent restaurant, a great dining experience and ambiance well deserving its 2 star Michelin status. However, this was the third visit this year for us. While the standard was high they are in the process of launching an alternative tasting menu. The various new combinations didn't quite work for us.
We have experienced many exceptional restaurants around the world . CORE is on a different level - the food , the service , the ambience, the presentation - the very concept of a completely "open" glassed in kitchen to be able to observe the finely choreographed creativity of the chefs is amazing.
The tastes and textures you will experience are truly unique .

Wow, just wow! The whole experience of dining at Core was fabulous. All the staff were just lovely and the food exceeded expectations. A wonderful place and I shall be back.

we had dinner at this restaurant last Saturday my husband and I for our first wedding anniversary ... everything was perfect, the food, the setting, the service ... we could not celebrate in a better place!
Excellent experience throughout. An absolutely perfect tasting menu without a single dish not fitting into an excellent and varied meal, accompanied by great and occasionally very creative wine pairing. A kitchen crew and serving team that is composed of a very international group of dedicated and obviously passionate people. Leading to an utterly spoiled couple of diners planning a return... Worth every possible effort to get there!

The enjoyment of our lunch was spoilt by the poor wine service. It was very haphazard - sometimes some glasses were filled up, and others left unfilled. We ordered a second bottle of wine and because the pouring of the wine was so slow we had finished our main course and there was still half a bottle of wine left! We would much prefer the wine to be put on the table for us to help ourselves (as is the case at Elystan Street and many other places).
it is really nice the food and service. However, one thing I am not 100% satisfied is that there desert, not as the standard as the starter and main course.
I was amazed to see Clare in the restaurant, and their head chef Johnny. Much respect for the service, and I heavily recommended it to anyone. Service was very friendly and I've never been in a restaurant of this class to be really cheerful, and friendly.
I'm rooting for the best of thos restaurant, the 2 Michelin star for this restaurant doesn't give it enough justice, they deserve at least 3.
We had the tasting menu plus a couple of extras, it is expensive but worth every penny. The amount of work that goes into every dish and the flavours are phenomenal. It is easy to see why the restaurant has won so many accolades.
The ambiance was relaxed but refined and the waiting staff well choreographed considering how many of them were in such a small area. I loved the fact that a member of the kitchen team gets to come and explain the dishes to you and you have the opportunity to meet Clare and the team at the end.
An elegant dining experience, fresh seasonal produce seasoned to perfection, beautifully presented.

The most visually creative meal I have experienced in a very long time (if ever!) My guest and I had the Lunch Tasting Menu. The attention to detail both in the sourcing of ingredients and the delivery of flavours was second to none. Head Chef Jonny Bone & Restaurant Director Rob Rose support Clare in running a tight, super slick operation. I was blown away! Utterly awesome. Great food, great team. I can't wait to go back.

Athmosphere a bit nervous, because there are a lot of waiters always moving back and forth and passing our table.
We arrived 10 Minutes before opening and had to wait outside in the rain. That was annoying.

A long-awaited culinary experience which ticked all the boxes. Professionalism through and through. If we can't get a reservation for a table next time, we'll try for a spot near the bar.
Our regular group of 5 golfers/diners meet for lunch at some of London’s best restaurants 5 to 6 times a year. Core by Clare Smyth has definitely been our standout “Restaurant of the Year” for 2018. The restaurant was impossible to fault with outstanding food and service. The Old Notting Hill Brasserie has always been a favourite venue but the new Core has transformed the old restaurant with the main dining room now opened up in a lovely light airy room versus the 4 or 5 rooms that used to be the norm. The new entrance leads straight into a small intimate bar with an excellent barman and obliging staff. There is now a great chef’s table in front of the dining room and the food, service and wine were faultless.
My Scallop ceviche was outstanding and my main of duck breast was cooked to perfection.
I can’t wait to go again!

For us the meal was slightly spolied by people on the next door table using their mobiles to take pictures of every single dish....so naff. Clare deserves much more classy customers than these,
This was the absolute best dining experience. The service was impeccable, the presentation innovate, creative, unusual. The food was sourced locally, served attentively by waiters and one of chefs. Delicious, savory down to every last morsel. Make a reservation; go there as soon as you can!!!
