Cork & Cap Restaurant
Excellent food and service. The prime rib was superb.
Absolutely atrocious service. Our party waited a full 40 minutes at the table before our server even stopped by to introduce himself and take our drink orders. 75 minutes into sitting at the table did we finally receive our first round of drinks and the bread basket. When the food did finally arrive, one of the appetizers that we had ordered was missing and at this point we were so aghast and aggravated by the service that we didn’t even bother mentioning the error to the server. The kitchen was appallingly slow and frankly by the time the entrees arrived, our night had already been utterly ruined. The burgers in particular were dry and tasteless while the accompanying macaroni and cheese was as inadequate in flavor as it was meager in portion. This experience was staggeringly shameful and nobody in our party of seven will ever make the mistake of frequenting this establishment ever again.
Seated immediately with reservation. Beautiful atmosphere. Slow to be approached, had to track down a waitress, was busy! Once waited on, service was good! Food was delicious! Had the filet. Nice Cabernet. Reasonably priced. Would go back!
Delicious food and wonderful service from Doni as usual!
Food, service and ambiance were all wonderful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Our server was fantastic and our meals were amazing! Loved the duck breast!
Jessica and her team were fantastic. Very welcoming and made every effort to ensure our visit was outstanding. Excellent food and drinks on top of fabulous service!
Great Food Great service! Thank you so much for accommodating with my guest and being flexible and sitting us at an earlier time. Greatly appreciated.
Service was slow and two different food items had to be sent back.
So many gluten free options , except for dessert ( vanilla ice cream was the only choice)
Great service great atmosphere
I really wanted to like this beautiful restaurant. I had the duck which was fair at best. My wife had the stroganoff and the noodles were a solid clump. We ordered coffee and it wasn't hot. The server said "it never is." Strange answer.
We ordered ceviche and it had only one shrimp in it. We told them about it. Which they then brought us another one. But we have already eaten the first one. My hubby had the duck which was over cooked and Luke warm. My brisket was good. But served as one piece over 6 ginnochi. And the root vegetables were celery. Really??!! And the cream brûlée’s could have had the topping done more. Will not go back
We had an awesome birthday celebration. The service and food were fabulous! We will definitely be back.
A wonderful dining experience- we will be back again
We received great service during this visit. We interacted with multiple staff members that were all very friendly and helpful. Everyone enjoyed their meals as well. Great experience!
The entrees were both excellent, pork chop and impossible meat loaf. The appetizer we ordered, shrimp ceviche was just okay. The ingredients were cut so small it was hard to identify anything. Not sure there were actually shrimp in the dish. We look forward to going back but will try a different appetizer.
Entrees were very tasty and well presented.
Caprese salad was adequate.
We have been to the Cork and Cap several previous times, but not within the past year. The uniqueness and quality of the menu and the food was not as good as we had remembered from previous visits. Perhaps there has been a change of chefs. We also found the restaurant to be quite noisy and challenging for conversation.
Took my mom out for a special dinner while visiting in town. Love the warmth of this place with brick and stone walls as well as historic touches. Began with a gin cocktail which was very good. Followed by a caprese salad and complimentary fresh baked rolls and butter. Melt in your mouth! The heirloom and local cherry tomatoes as well as the balsamic reduction were very satisfying. Nice size too. Followed by the pork chop entré. Perfectly prepared. Tender and moist, flavorful with a slight crispness on outside. Topped with a fresh and flavor balanced apricot and pepper relish. Really nice. Fingerling potatoes well prepared. Cauliflower rini? was only disappointment. Very bland and not crisp. Mom had Shrimp Scampi and she enjoyed every bite! Will be back!
The food was delicious and the service was great! There was a wide variety of dishes to choose from. It’s a great place to have dinner.
I was looking for somewhere new to go for our wedding anniversary at a place with history and came upon the Cork and Cap. From the moment we walked in we loved the space, the decor, especially all of the exposed brick and historical wall hangings. We were pleasantly surprised to find out we would get free champagne since it was our anniversary. Our server was extremely pleasant and attentive, went the extra mile for us. The menu was hard to pick from since it all sounded amazing. I got the surf and turf special that was absolutely mouth watering - steak was done a perfect medium rare for me and the giant sea scallops were seared perfectly. My husband got the crab cakes that were delicious with no fillers and were sitting on fresh corn fritters that really complimented the dish. The desserts sounded fantastic but unfortunately we were too full. I highly recommend this restaurant from start to finish and we will definitely be returning and telling our friends and family as well.
This a must stop if you’re in the Lancaster area! I’ve had Sunday brunch on multiple occasions and lunch as well. Everything is delicious and the staff is so helpful and accommodating. The fresh ingredients and attention to details on each dish, really help the food standout. The decor is so neat with the old farm tools. The outdoor patio is charming as well. We are always bringing new people here to try it and they all say it is a must go for sure!!!
Disappointing. Visiting from out of town and place looked cool. Nice comfy seating but not much else.
We started with pretzel with beer cheese. Average. Tasty enough. My partner got the seafood platter special. Nowhere near good enough for the $42 price. Four-ounce lobster tail, three average sized scallops and a few small snow crab clusters were not impressive. Lobster was extremely over salted.
I ordered the meatloaf and Mac and cheese. Not sure how this could get screwed up, but it did. Meat loaf was beyond dry. Not sure if they overbaked it first or if it was cooked nicely then they cooked it longer to heat it up. Tomato sauce on top was tasty, but it needed a lot more to moisten up the dry and somewhat flavorless meatloaf. Mac and cheese was a disappointment. First, the portion size was laughable. Comfort food should be served in a greater portion than — literally — a half cup. Also, was a benchmark sauce used? The Mac and cheese was dry. Almost like they took macaroni and threw in some shredded cheddar. Green beans were ok. They probably needed to be blanched another two or three minutes because they were a bit tough.
Normally, I would have said something and maybe I should have. But we were tired and wanted to get back to the hotel. Really nice location. Wait staff was a bit slow throughout the night, but totally pleasant. Lots of work on food needs to be done because it just wasn’t that great.
Great place for atmosphere. Service was so,so. The big problem was food. Very unacceptable. Started with crab dip. Looked beautiful, but not really good. My wife order a dish that was short ribs. Wasn't cooked enough, and returned to kitchen. all other dishes were just OK. Bar drinks were good. When we ordered dessert, they decided not to charge us for them. they were good.
We had a very pleasant experience. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Dinner was perfectly cooked and presented. A very nice setting.
Several friends recommended cork and Cap. Our party of 6 arrived 10 minutes early and we were seated right away. Appetizers were great. Service was awesome and the food was delicious. I had the grilled porkchop and it was sooo good. After dinner we met the Manager and she gave us a tour of rooms to consider for a wedding rehearsal party. Very pleasant dining experience.
We are here while traveling. I was specifically looking for places with local food. I thought this was one. But it seems the online source I found was not as accurate. In that regard, I was disappointed. The ambiance was exceptional. The food was good, but fairly typical of that type of restaurant. Overall if was a good decent meal, but not unique and not the farm to table i had hope experience I had been searching for.
Food was fresh and well made. Waitress was friendly and helpful. We were on vacation and we’re happy with our restaurant choice
Dinner was outstanding as all 6 of us tried something different plus drinks and dessert.
Will go back for sure.
We were in town for a wedding and the couple told us how they enjoyed the Cork Factory hotel so I decided to make reservations at Cork & Cap for dinner our first night. Soft lighting, a warm atmosphere, the coziness of the brick and antique items on the walls - we were in love with your restaurant from the moment we walked thru the door. And the food did not disappoint. The red beet salad was delicious and more than generous, even when we split it. The grilled fillet was like butter - one of the tastiest steaks I’ve ever had. We’ll be back to Lancaster, if for no other reason than to east at you lovely restaurant.
Steak was undercooked twice but the manager gave us our entire dinner for free.
Wonderful experience. We really loved the Cork and Cap and plan to return in the future.
The restaurant was super crowded and there was an event in the banquet center. Despite those challenges, the service was excellent. Food arrived in a timely fashion. They were able to turn our party of 5 in 75 minutes. The 2 14+ parties also seated in our section were seated before us, received food after us but were also served in a timely manner and were just about finished t the same time as us. Their timing issues were more about a self induced delay placing their order, or an extended cocktail hour at their choice. All in all a great experience and we will be back.
Cork and Cap food not anything special. Expected more given the intriguing atmosphere of the room we were seated in, Guiness was not allowed to build resulting in a less than perfect pint. Waiter was competent, but was either a barman moonlighting as a waiter or a waiter wishing to become barman.
Immediately had a great vibe upon walking into this restaurant. The rustic decor and dim lighting added to the ambiance. While the staff members were all pleasant they seemed short handed as the bartender did double service as our waiter which made the service a bit slow- although my husband and I didn’t mind the wait and enjoyed a romantic evening. The food was a great value for the price and I would without hesitation recommend! Cork and Cap!
The ambience was wonderful and the food really awesome! The homemade mozzarella was a delight to our palettes! My husbands duck dish came to him warm but after a few delicious bites he didnt mind that his food wasn't hot. A lovely experience!
Fried avocado with the chicken salad was not very tasty according to two persons in our party. Two of us ordered the salmon salad and that seems to be 'Old Reliable' since we both get this salad everytime we go there. It is good and salmon is done to order. The service was prompt and friendly when we first arrived but after we got our entrees, we could not find anyone to fill our water pitcher or for an order of coffee or for anything. We had a nice quiet spot where we could talk comfortably and for quite some time after we finished eating since by this time in the afternoon there were not too many customers.
Unique atmosphere and wonderful bartenders! Delicious food.
Beautiful setting and ambiance. Food not so good, won't go back. Made a reservation, when we arrived they tried to seat us in the bar--requested a seat on the other side, much nicer. Ordered the salmon, requested MEDIUM. When served the gills were still gasping for air. Sent it back, waited, order came back and the entire order, plate, green beans, and the starch were blazing hot. Not sure if they just microwaved the whole thing or refired a new order. Either way, the salmon was still very rare in the center and worst of all, tasteless. The string beans veggie du jour (my order and my wife's also) were hard as rocks....please just cook them a little bit? Ate it, smiled and put up with it. My wife had the porkchop, said it was good but the bite I had was a little dry. She would never complain. They offered us free desserts to make up for the salmon. In the end two different people brought us FOUR desserts, bagged to go as we had requested. The desserts don't make up for the disappointing meal. Such a nice atmosphere, too bad about the food.
Great atmosphere, good food! We Love unique, and one of a kind places.
