Superior service, excellent food, wonderful ambiance
Little Italy section of Schenectady. Old world flavor and decorating. Felt Like Italy.
Very long wait for food that wasn't very warm & considering price point should have been better.
Always a great dining experience! Wait staff is attentive, food is excellent and always at a good price!
Service and food were excellent. Three in my party got the homemade Cavatelli and loved it. Chicken Marsala was great and my husband's steak was cooked and seasoned properly. Can't wait to come back.
Loved, Loved having dinner there. They asked if we were going to the show and had food out quick and it was GREAT! I ordered the steak and it was cooked and flavored perfectly. Also had the cavatelli with red sauce- OMG. The Tuesday, Wednesday 3 course dinner is such a bargain. Can't wait to go back.
We came to Cornell’s with a large group (12) after attending a matinee at the Schenectady Light Opera. The service and the food were beyond compare! Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!
Our server Kaydence was awesome! Very attentive but without being pushy. Food was excellent, too. This was my son's first time at a restaurant of this caliber, and he loved it!
Restaurant recommendation! Food was good not the best their signature dish risotto was ok not over the top! Lobster & veal dish was not that tasty too much sauce! Calamari was very good. Good wine list
Arrived at 7:00 as our reservation stated. First people in dining room that we were told was sold out.
Parties came and went after us. Our food never came out of the kitchen until 9:05pm. We were the last party left in dining room. Spoke to manager, no excuse given. She did comp two of the four meals, but will not return any time soon.
Long wait times for a not-too-full restaurant. Food items were OK but not something to rave about. House-made cavatelli was pasty and underdone.
Thank You for making my birthday dinner a very special one.
We had a great time ~ great food and great service.
A wonderful evening.❤️
This was my husband’s and I first time here and we can’t wait to go back. The food was amazing!
Always good service and excellent food. Regular hostess is a gem
I ordered Chicken parm. It was the worst I ever had. Burnt and over cooked. Couldn't eat it. My wife ordered the haddock and she said it was rubbery. I don't know why this happened because it was not busy. Very disappointed that you would ever serve anyone a meal like this.
Very enjoyable experience. Ashley, our server, was efficient, personable, and very accommodating. Food was excellent and portions huge!
Cornell's has long had an outstanding reputation in Schenectady's "Little Italy". We had a wonderful meal and great service (with a smile) on 8/25.
Food was great. It was a very busy evening with many diners. Servers were trying their best, but need to organize their work better.
We had a relaxing and tasty dinner at Cornells. Would go again.
On a very busy Wednesday evening, during the Hamilton run at Proctor's, Cornell's was running at maximum efficiency. We had a nice table alongside the windows. The service was reasonably prompt given that the place was packed with theater-goers. They did a good job of getting the food out in a timely manner. And it was delicious! My guests were Italians, and particular about their Italian food; they loved it all! Bravo!
The chicken marsala was just delicious! My companion also enjoyed the chicken francaise
This was my first (and hopefully not last) time dining at Cornells. We enjoyed a beverage at the bar while waiting for our table. The bartender was very personable and friendly. The dinner service was great, not an overly long wait for our meals, and the food was superb! We had plenty of time to make it to the show at Proctors without feeling rushed. Thank you for a great dining experience!
Dinner after a show in Schenectady
We were disappointed that our request to be seated at a table in the bar wasn’t accommodated. The broccoli rabe appetizer and Utica Greens were good. A nice meal but not exceptional.
We ate at Cornell’s before seeing Hamilton at nearby Proctor’s. I discovered Cornell’s through an Open Table search for restaurants near Proctors Theatre and chose it based on their menu. It was easy to find and they have ample parking. Once inside, we were seated immediately by the hostess and the restaurant was pretty full of theatre-goers eager and excited to see Hamilton. Our server, Amanda, was very knowledgeable and asked right away if we were going to see the show so we could be finished in plenty of time. They have a lovely wine selection and my water glass was refilled almost instantly when low. I ordered the shrimp pescatore, which is their version of shrimp scampi. It was delicious and just the right amount-I couldn’t quite finish but was able to leave without feeling over-stuffed. In retrospect, the only change I would make would be to bring a cooler bag for leftovers!!
We had a great meal and experience at Cornell’s. Can’t wait to go back
Great Italian fine dining in Little Italy Schenectady. It is our go to restaurant for theatre night at Proctor's. The service is relaxed yet attentive. The food always satisfies. Just a great experience every time
Reservations before theater. Very good food. Quiet restaurant. Very nice service. Convenient 10 minute walk to proctors . Enjoyed
We always enjoy Cornell's. Best Utica Greens I've ever had! It was also a particularly quiet night so we really enjoyed the ambience as well as the food. We'll definitely recommend Cornell's to others.
The food was great but waited over an hour for a simple meal. It was a show night but our reservation was at 5:15 and only two tables were occupied when we got there
Service was very good but the flavor of the food was quite bland
This was my second visit same thing happened the first time but because of the good reviews we decided to give them a second chance was a big mistake
My first opinion was right
Excellent food! Great service with a smile. Will definitely return
Food was not good. Little neck clams were chopped not whole. Shrimp parm was heavily breaded so you could not taste the shrimp. Tasted like it was prepared Earlier in day. Sauce had an unpleasant taste and eggplant was drippy.
Cornell’s was pleasantly busy, our waiter Ben was very attentive and gave good advice on entree specials. Clams casino were as tasty as usual although a bit small. My husband s fish special was very enjoyable and I stayed with one of their classics, chicken francaise. Special gelato dessert was yummy.
Food was simply not good
Service was very slow even though they were not busy
Very disappointed because we used to go all the time and loved it
Things have changed
The eggplant parmigiana was really good and a giant portion. The chicken piccata was also very nice. A member of my party had the braciola and said it was just so so.
Never rushed, great food selection nice atmosphere, noise level low for talking.
the fixed price tues-weds options are a great value, but beverage option should be printed & on the table
Unfortunately, my rating has to do with the service, which was very slow and the waitress was not very attentive. She did make an adjustment on our check but I think the fact that she was working in two different dining rooms made it difficult. If that is the case, I would think management had some responsibility. The food was delicious and I would give it another try.
The food was outstanding! We all had the specials and there was not a single complaint on any of the food. My only complaint, although it was a big one, was the time. We had reservations for 5:45pm and didnt get our meal until 7:00pm. We didn’t leave the restaurant until 8:15pm. Every time our waiter left us it was awhile before we saw him again for anything. Our server was kind, I can’t blame him. I will try again, but will watch the time to see if we go back.
Italian classics. Everything is consistent and yummy. Yet to have something we didn’t love.
