Coro the Chocolate Cafe - Frederick Street
Exactly what it says on the sign! The chocolate orange cheesecake is better that you think it would be, the bubble waffles are also highly recommended.
The menu had a wide variety of options to chose from and they even had everything organised,,the table was cleaned very well and the staff were very professional in their approach. That was my 4th time coming because I really enjoy it there. I found it very relaxing and the service was very fast. I had the caramel digestive and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to go to coro and it is a good price for what you get with the option of having ice cream with it is always really good. I always feel like I’m at home whenever I am at coro and the staff are all really nice and they are also really helpful if you have a problem with anything. I like the way that everything is layed out in the cafe. The thing is you will also need a bottle of water because at some points mainly by the end of the food it can get sickly but if you have any water on the table then that shouldn’t be too bad. In conclusion,, I really enjoyed it and I would recommend it to anyone but I would ask people to get some water in store.
Crazy over priced. Like shocked that they charged £14.99 for the tiniest fondue. Husband had bacon egg pancakes Served on a tiny slate. Eggs were chewy/overdone and bacon so crispy it was dusty and dry. Love the idea/the amount of choice. But £30 later and no one was satisfied
My son and I really enjoyed the food and experience. Great choice and selection of delicious desserts.
Really tasty food with great service. Setting is quite noisy, lots of clattering of cutlery when we were in. I would go back though
If you like a sweet treat this is the place to be 😉
My daughter's favourite cafe! We love Coro, they make delicious treats, lovely service and just a delightful experience.
All of our food was very good and service was good as well.
Waffles were really nice but the fruit for my sons fondue was past its best. We were charged 10% service charge for a table of 2 adults and 3 children, I don't mind paying this however we were left with halve of our plates for a long time, no one asked if we wanted teas or coffees and we had to flag down the waitress to ask for the bill. Again not a problem but to be charged 10% for good service I didn't feel was valid on this occasion.
Staff were very friendly! Service was very quick, and the desserts as always tasted so good! This is my go to place every time I come to Edinburgh!
Fantastic treat for the kids. Plenty choice and quick service. Staff were lovely and it was well worth the money.
I took my youngest daughter for the first time and we had a lovely time. Shared the chocolate fondue which was delicious! Staff very attentive and friendly. Will be back with all the family soon.
No complaints other than is a little pricey enjoyed what we ordered
We love it. Would appreciate more savoury options as the pesto crepe was sick.
Extensive menu of lovely desserts and cakes. Well worth a visit.
Quick service, food was good. Staff pleasant.
Great food and drink and service was also good. Recommended to friends
My friends and I had breakfast here in the AM and the atmosphere was nice and quiet. The food was delicious as always and the staff were polite.
Amazing food.. so much choice and excellent service.
If in Edinburgh then this is a must !
Good selection of food and drinks. Great service. A bit on the pricey side but it is city centre.
It didn’t feel particularly safe. I’m told hand sanitizer was available but I didn’t see it.
The tables were crowded together. Despite having booked a table we had to wait for ten minutes for one to become available, in an area where there was no social distancing at all.
The food was OK, but it didn’t taste as good as it looked. Overall I was really disappointed.
Everything was good apart from the toilets. They weren’t overly that clean.
So glad to have discovered this place. Great location. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back for my chocolate fix!
Very nice food and drink and reasonably priced. Some guests quite loud. Toilets not the cleanest. Staff were good with us but one customer with a child had to get their own colouring crayons
Food was amazing, staff were very friendly I will definitely be going back have also recommended it to other friends and family
Food was fantastic as always. Service was very poor this time round and the place wasn't even busy so there was no excuse!
Cant wait to go back - such a hard choice to pick what to have all looks good 👌
The menu has a great choice of sweet desserts and a few savoury choices too. Great place for a coffee and a big stonking sweet treat.
Lovely birthday treat, and amazing chocolate and treats!!!
We all really enjoyed the food, especially the kids. The service was much faster than previous visits. The place could do with a bit of a tidy up though.
Nice relaxed cafe with pleasant staff. Pancakes were lovely but would have preferred choice of 2/3 rather than having 4. Four was too many and difficult to finish especially for kids, is a waste when you are paying alot for them. Good variety on menu
We booked a table for 21:00 for some dessert - we were aware that the restaurant closed at 22:00. When we walked in, not a single member of staff greeted us at the door - we stood for 10 minutes and nobody approached us. Unfortunately we decided to leave because we didn’t get a friendly atmosphere. I understand that times are busy at the moment, but a simple ‘hello’ would have been nice. I’ve been before during the day and the food is amazing but I was disappointed that this time just wasn’t good.
Great sweet treats which were far too much for us - eyes bigger than stomach... The cafe generally could do with an upgrade as it looks a bit tired.
Lovely waffles, and wonderful staff. Really enjoyed our visit
Went with my boyfriend and thought the desserts looked amazing. As we got there it was awkwardly quiet and three staff were not doing much but hovering or chatting to each other. The menus were super sticky and obviously not cleaned - which is a little worrying due to the pandemic. Some of the food was overpriced for what it was or it’s quantity. The hot chocolates we had were okay, but I wouldn’t recommend. I ordered a fondue for 1 and my bf ordered a cookie. The fondue came with a tiny pot of Nutella, not heated or anything like a fondue. Because of the scarce amount I couldn’t have 3/4 of my fruit with it as there was simply not enough. My boyfriends cookie was good, but tiny for price... We had to stand up and pay as all 3 staff weren’t very attentive. It was £20 for two small drinks, a small “fondue” and a tiny cookie. Overall wasn’t a great place or experience sadly. Would definitely not recommend.
Hard crepe and extremely minimal chocolate sauce
Added on some extra money when they never explained what it was for
The food here is always good and there is loads to choose from however it is very pricy
Great food, good value for money, friendly staff, definitely recommend!
Good atmosphere, staff were polite and friendly. Could do with offering some smaller items on the menu too, everything looked huge!
Sat through the back where we seemed to be forgotten, in an area that looked like it should have been a storeroom.
Service was not great.
