Coro the Chocolate Cafe - Frederick Street
The food is great, huge selection, must love chocolate though! (But who doesn't)
Lovely food, good service, would definitely recommend and will be back
It was a scrumptious treat to have for dessert. It was rich and the food wasn’t too hot or too cold. The service was great and the waiters were very kind. I would highly recommend.
Chocolate heaven for kids! Great quality every time and a real treat after a long walk. The Oreo milkshakes are a real highlight!
This restaurant was very nice, especially now with the Christmas decoration. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. I would recommend to families and friends. If you don’t feel like eating, you can have a nice shot of hot chocolate with different flavours!
Felt comfortable and at ease. Our food and hot chocolates were lovely. I couldn't even finish the bubble waffles. Would recommend and return.
The waffles were amazing. Couldn’t fault the food at all. Good service, the girls were really nice. The only mark down is because it felt a bit tatty. The menus had seen better days as had the cutlery and there was an old bit chewing gum or something on the windowsill next to the table. Would go back for the food though.
Lovely food as always, great ambience and friendly staff
Lovely cute cafe! Defo recommend to every group, desserts are yummy
Enjoyed our visit. Food was nice - daughter had the chocolate fondue whilst husband and I had tasty savoury crepes. The staff were really pleasant, friendly and kept the place absolutely spotless.
Only drawback was the noise. It was pretty noisy with coffee machines etc. I would visit again but request a table through the back.
Food was amazing as was the service. Definitely would return.
Excellent food and service. Very child friendly and a great location too.
My only suggestion for improvement would be that the decor and toilets could be modernised. While the staff were lovely, it felt a little bit like a canteen. Maybe something to think about once we're back to normal...
Overall though would definitely recommend. Great place.
Asked to be seated away from people due to one of us on cancer treatment which I understand the café was quite full but would’ve been handy to be sat at the back a bit more away from people. But other than that it was great and great food for our first date
Amazing food and honest prices! Service very good even when busy.
Fantastic level of service as well as absolutely indulgent treats!!
Lovely grown up treat. Had the waffles and Jaffa cakes and a chai latte both were so good.
A lovely cafe with friendly and attentive staff and great food. The prices might be a bit higher than average, but the quality is worth it.
The food was amazing and servers so friendly!! Good value for money, would totally recommend.
Lots of choice, food was really good, it was my table making noise as I had 4 young girls but I thought the staff dealt well with the many requests.
There appeared to be only one working toilet when I visited which didn’t help when the girls wanted to go in two by two.
Had to ask to order and again for the bill.... I wasn’t sure if you had to ask or whether it was just busy and the staff didn’t realise.
Would recommend the cafe to friends
We had a table booked but we still had to wait for our table to be ready. Once we were seated, they took over half an hour to come back to our table and take our order. The staff are way too young and you can clearly see them struggling, I had to stand up and ask to speak with a manager to asked for someone to come to our table. Perhaps is simply inexperience but unfortunately last few times we didn't manage to have a good time. Plus at the end, they tried to charge us a service charge which was unbelievable.
I would suggest explaining to your staff it is not necessary to ignore your customers but simple just come to the table and be honest (you won't be taking any orders and will be back as soon as you can) is simple, but it is really rude if you make eye contact with a customer and then just decide to turn around and ignore.
Delicious food. I thought the savoury crepes would be heavy but they were really light and left just enough room for a dessert.
I enjoyed this so much. I don’t really have a sweet tooth but this is amazing. I would recommend to everyone to try it ❤️❤️
Most delicious waffles, pancakes, cakes and other sweet and also savoury options. Chocolate heaven on earth!
Treat for the kids at half term. Doesn’t seem to be many places you can go to but this was fantastic. Just too many choices.
First time being here, but very nice and great food
Very delicious waffles and coffee. Friendly staff. Would recommend xx
Exactly what it says on the sign! The chocolate orange cheesecake is better that you think it would be, the bubble waffles are also highly recommended.
Revived wrong order then was made to feel like it was my fault and that I must eat wrong order. When my order came it had nuts on it which I hadn’t ordered (as if I had been given someone else’s). When bill came I had been charged for the wrong order which was more expensive. When I queried the staff about this they blamed the tax ( which is rubbish as tax as been reduced) and assured me I had been charged correctly. I am a regular and know the price of my order, overall extremely disappointed!
I made a booking for Sunday and waited half an hour for our order to be taken (even after asking). Food took another half an hour. Again, I had to ask where our drinks/food were. No windows/ventilation so I was not too happy to sit inside for that long to wait for 2 drinks/pancakes, and also waste time of a vary rare shopping trip. Also the toilets need a good clean.
The menu had a wide variety of options to chose from and they even had everything organised,,the table was cleaned very well and the staff were very professional in their approach. That was my 4th time coming because I really enjoy it there. I found it very relaxing and the service was very fast. I had the caramel digestive and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to go to coro and it is a good price for what you get with the option of having ice cream with it is always really good. I always feel like I’m at home whenever I am at coro and the staff are all really nice and they are also really helpful if you have a problem with anything. I like the way that everything is layed out in the cafe. The thing is you will also need a bottle of water because at some points mainly by the end of the food it can get sickly but if you have any water on the table then that shouldn’t be too bad. In conclusion,, I really enjoyed it and I would recommend it to anyone but I would ask people to get some water in store.
Crazy over priced. Like shocked that they charged £14.99 for the tiniest fondue. Husband had bacon egg pancakes Served on a tiny slate. Eggs were chewy/overdone and bacon so crispy it was dusty and dry. Love the idea/the amount of choice. But £30 later and no one was satisfied
My son and I really enjoyed the food and experience. Great choice and selection of delicious desserts.
Really tasty food with great service. Setting is quite noisy, lots of clattering of cutlery when we were in. I would go back though
My daughter's favourite cafe! We love Coro, they make delicious treats, lovely service and just a delightful experience.
If you like a sweet treat this is the place to be 😉
All of our food was very good and service was good as well.
Waffles were really nice but the fruit for my sons fondue was past its best. We were charged 10% service charge for a table of 2 adults and 3 children, I don't mind paying this however we were left with halve of our plates for a long time, no one asked if we wanted teas or coffees and we had to flag down the waitress to ask for the bill. Again not a problem but to be charged 10% for good service I didn't feel was valid on this occasion.
Staff were very friendly! Service was very quick, and the desserts as always tasted so good! This is my go to place every time I come to Edinburgh!
Fantastic treat for the kids. Plenty choice and quick service. Staff were lovely and it was well worth the money.
I took my youngest daughter for the first time and we had a lovely time. Shared the chocolate fondue which was delicious! Staff very attentive and friendly. Will be back with all the family soon.
