Cottons Ratings and Reviews
I don’t usually go out to eat carribean food as it seems to never taste like it. But this time... the most amazing carribean food I’ve tasted. Such brilliant service. Would recommend to everyone. Only thing is the food takes quite long to come. Overall it was AMAZING!
I had heard of cottons through friends as a jerk chuck experience akin to what brixton used to serve up pre gentrification . I used to live in brixton for 8 yrs so I was excited to hear this. Me and my girlf ordered cocktails then the jerk meat platter. It was delicious with a combo of lamb, pork ribs and chicken wings in a lip tingljngly good jerk sauce. Also a generous portion of rice and peas to share and more jerk gravy to pour over that. Uuuuummm as a gravy fiend this was a delightful added bonus. I really enjoyed my missus found it a little to hot for her so I would say this place is for pro jerk chicken lover but I absolutely loved it!!!
Food was surprising amazing! Enjoyed it very much. Service was great. Food was served promptly and very well presented. Dj was on point! Very good music selection. Cocktails were outstanding and very strong 😬. Only negative is the venue should be bigger. Got very crowded
Beautifully presented, really well flavoured Caribbean food, great ambience, vibrant restaurant (way bigger than it looks from the outside). Service was laid back and cocktails took a while to come but that was only a problem as we were short on time so recommend you take your time and enjoy it! And if you are a rum lover you will be in heaven at the bar!
Awesome! I've been meaning to try this place out for a while and so glad we finally went. They have all the Caribbean spirits you can think of and amazing cocktails...proper cocktails not just juice! w had the Jerk meat platter and we were not disappointed. Fab, fun no-nonsense evening!
The food was amazing. Very well made and plenty of it. Lets just say we didnt leave hungry. The cocktails were also lovely and quite strong with lots of nice flavours to choose from. The restaurant offered us a great dining experience and with the music and crowd, also lots of fun.
Although had a mandatory valentines menu which we had to pick off , was a very enjoyable evening .. good food, server was efficient, polite and also had a good sense of humour.
The downside was they say tables so close together that when I tried to get out I was disturbing either party on my left/right .
As restaurant wasn't busy they could of separated us to avoid this.
Food and server was great.
its a little cosy and would say booking is essential. the rice n peas has a twist, different from other places. Cocktails.. are fantastic and sooo worth the money. with the fab music going in the background, we could have easily stayed there all evening, shame its so small.
We've been there a few times now, and we've been happy with the place on each occasion. Monday & Tuesday 50% off jerk offer is our fav! We also love the Reggae rum punches, very tasty! Overall great rums, food and rum cocktails. A Caribbean heaven in London!
If you like rum, proper rum, then you have to come here. Maybe kick off with one of their excellent run cocktails (surely a health drink with that much fresh fruit?) before seeing the night to bed sailing around the carribean through the bottom of your glass and the extensive rum menu they have. Always a taste adventure. And don't just bank on the rum. The food is worth writing home about too, with all the carribean favourites and more. Throw in such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable bar staff and proffessional yet very amusing waiting staff and it all adds up to a fine, relaxed evening of food and drink that leaves you with that just-back-from-holiday feeling!
I have eaten at Cottons for many years now but have not been there in over a year. What a lovely surprise to see that the ambience and atmosphere there has not changed. The food was always good but on Saturday everything ordered was to perfection so very tasty and enjoyable including the cocktails. The staff is always attentive and helpful. Really good value for money.
