Cottons was closed down I wished I was told when i booked it. It was suppose to be a bday surprise for my husband.
Unfortunately it is not as good as the Camden branch. We went on a Saturday night and the restaurant was very quiet with a lack of ambience
The food is also not as good as in Camden.
Will not be returning
The food was very shoddily prepared and presentation wasnt good. We ordered a cocktail, which couldn’t get made as they didn’t have the main ingredient. We ordered another one, which was disgusting and the pineapple piece on the edge of the glass was wrotten and brown. It was made with zero finesse and that barman was constantly running out the restaurant and o don’t think really worked there, as he didn’t know how to prepare the cocktails.
Reviews had made out like it was a popular and busy nottinghill restaurant but we were the only people there. It’s a shame as it sounded good but unfortunately nothing was good. We were very disappointed and will never go back, especially when there are so many lovely restaurants in London.
Good food and atmosphere, very slow getting the bill.
Food was very disappointing, the ribs were dry , the profiteroles had just been taken out of fridge and served cold and hard. Very mediocrely.
Excellent menu, extensive cocktail list. Comfortable and welcoming.
I usually LOVE Cottons but, on this visit, I was a little disappointed. The service was really lacklustre and my favourite dish had been removed from the menu. That being said, the food was still good and I will definitely return.
I think this restaurant works for couples but for a group of friends getting together a bit quiet.
Some of the dishes I had wasn’t as good at some of the other Cotton restaurants.
I have had cottons before in the camden branch and thought about trying one closer to home. It has lovely decor inside and the staff where very friendly.
The food: The escovitch fish dishes were actually very nice, I wish I had ordered them! However when it came to ordering the waiter never wrote down our order, so we never received fully what we asked for.
My family do not eat pork for religious reasons, me and my brother split the Jerk platter, and asked to swap the pork for more chicken- which it states in the menu that you can do. However our food came with pork, we had to return the food and wait a further 20 minutes to receive our meal, at this time the rest of our table had finished their meal and we had both lost our appetite.
We also didn't receive the additional sides we ordered.
It is not the best caribbean food I have had but it also not the worst, it is also quiet pricey, so be prepared to shell out some money!
Because of the mix up on our order we were offered a 15% discount off our bill and they were very apologetic about the mix up.
Cocktails are good, of course as it is caribbean expect all of them to be made with rum.
Was really looking to have some jerk chicken and opted for the jerk platter with other meats such as lamb and pork.
Initially felt the meat in general was extremely dry and tough and required the sauce to add some texture back. I know jerk food should be smoked and cooked for a longer time but it shouldn’t of been as dry as expected
We’ve been lots of times before. There were quite a few changes, some good others not so good. Improved menu and good choice of cocktails. We always make sure we get there in time for “happy hour”, cocktails didn’t disappoint. Enjoyed the starter of salt fish fritters served quickly then waited for ages for our main. Both dishes were totally over cooked, the spatchcock chicken was about 5” long and charred pretty much; the ribs and chicken similar. Such a shame as the flavouring was really on point. There was only one guy serving, why?? Crazy. He was lovely but found it hard to keep up. Loved listening to the cool ruler all evening and enjoyed the live band, thanks for singing happy birthday.
Need more staff to improve all round experience
Lovely place to eat the service could of been a bit quicker on the night
We had to wait a little while for starters and the main was fine...
Desert could of been served a bit quicker
Great restaurant ..great food .. the live band where too load
I ordered oxtail and rice &peas the oxtail was 4 massive pieces on a bone, the meat was so hard I had to use the fork and knife to cut the meat of the bone, this meat when cooked properly should literally fall off the bone.
I ordered a pinacolard cocktail, all my friends received their drinks although there was a mix up when they received their drinks, I waited around 20 mins more to receive my drink after asking 3 times.
The staff were very friendly and polite, the French Caribbean guy who served was nice but did forget my drink.
we were a group of 8 people and we usally meet once a month for a dinner somewhere, unfortunately we would not be returning after this experience.
The venue is lively but there is no abiunce, the music is tone low and not Caribbean in the slightest. The food is great very in keeping with the Caribbean taste and flavours. The happy hour menu is small but does nice and at £5 you can not go wrong and cocktails were also mixed well. Staff where polite buy not ready for the rush that a Friday night brings. Also think I was over charged so check the bill.
Booked for 10.00pm, arrived and was seated and given menus. Waitress did not return for 20minutes, when she did return she was not familiar with the menu so could not advise on questions asked. Then learnt the restaurant was closing at 10.30pm. Was given reheated food, poor tasting cocktail. Bad service bad ambience will not be returning.
food was lovely. very hot and tidy. lovely!!!
THE MANAGER WAS RUDE AND BANNED US FROM THE RESTARAUNT FOR NOT PAYING SERVICE CHARGE. I EXPLAINED THAT THE SERVICE WAS POOR AS OUR FOOD COME OUT VERY LATE THE MANAGER WAS TOUCHING UP HIS STAFF IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS!!!!!
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here and we had a lovely evening. The pina colada cocktails were amazing! the food was great, we had the sharing platter and there was plenty of it. The service was perfect. We would definitely return.
Food okay but beef patty starter arrived cold. The noise of screaming unruly children was just unbearable. Some people seemed to think they had the run of the place and their kids were running wild all over the restaurant making so much noise and ruining the evening for everyone. Would not recommend.
I found the service to be friendly however, it took quite a while for us to get our drinks. The food is definitely not value for money and overpriced for what you get. It was not traditional Caribbean food and very bland, with the meat being so burnt to the point you had no meat to even eat! To end it, our service charge was nearly £20 which was disappointing. I will not be going back to this venue, well only maybe for the cocktails.
great food amazing service and dessert to die for with good friendly service
Excellent food, excellent service, really impressed. We were well looked after. Great wine list too. Good prices.
Great Caribbean food. Lovely restaurant. Four friends catching up, to enjoy a wholesome meal before heading off to the west end.
Food doesn’t taste the same too salty and not nice
Delicious food, a good variety of tasty rum cocktails, friendly staff and overall a nice atmosphere.
The service was good, but the food wasn't. We had to send back quite a few of our dishes and didn't receive any discount for not being able to eat some of our meal. Also items were missing from our meal.
Nice friendly staff, but a shame about the food especially as it was a birthday celebration
The services was alright but the best part of the night was the cocktail bar man. An amazing man that could make you anything to tickle your fancy and will serve it with a smile
The place was fun, the service good and very friendly, the cocktails were great and there was even live music to improve the already nice atmosphere. Unfortunately the food did not really live up to the rest. It was perfectly adequate but rather stodgy and tasteless for our liking, Great place for a drink though
Fantastic food and cocktails would recommend to anyone who enjoys a chilled out vibe in lively surroundings!!
The food was authentic carribean with all the flavours springing into our mouths with each bite. Particular mention must be made to the brown Rice which deserved a star on its own merits. Unforgettable was also the rhum fruit cake both for its presentation and taste. And a word of advice: do not leave the restaurant without trying One of the more than 200 rhums available.
Disappointing meal overall with a few good dishes but several very poor. Service was dreadful and generally not great value for money
Their service is excellent and their knowledge of rum is second to none. The food is brilliantly presented and delicious! highly recommend the spiced duck and the rum profiteroles. Fantastic live music and we can't wait to go back!
The worst meal I have had in a restaurant in a very long time, most of the food not eaten. Over cooked, burnt and not enjoyable.
Extremely flavoursome and authentic Caribbean food, with wonderful attentive service and an amazing choice of rums!
A group of 7 of us went for my godmothers birthday! She loves a rum! The Cottons punch was beautiful! The guy who served us was great and all in all we had a lovely night! I can definately recommend the Chaguana’s dinner plate! It was a triumph!
Evening spent with friends, great service, staff very attentive and friendly... Food was very tasty
Friendly staff, and great food.
The Food was tasteless which was very disappointing
Good service and food as always. Only thing to note is they now seem to accept dogs brought with customers (indicate when booking if you have allergies).
