Typical Cottons dishes include jerk chicken; homemade curried mutton; and Cottons most popular vegetarian dish Chaguanas Dinner Plate - chana dhal curry served with black eyed bean, chick pea and callaloo fritters, and plantain. All jerk meats at Cottons are grilled and smoked over coals and oak wood chips with hickory and pimiento and covered in Cottons homemade jerk sauce.
Cocktails are predominantly rum-based featuring Cottons originals like Sorrell Sling – beefeater gin, homemade sorrel squash, fresh lemon, creme de casssis and soda water; Cottons Punch and Killer Doppi made from four different rums.

The service was absolutely lovely. All the staff were friendly and polite. I’d definitely come again!
Shame about the long wait for our main course. .. We waited for over an hour... Apart from that the food was delicious, lively atmosphere and our waiter was lovely :-)
Worst ever place. The noise level was unbelievable loud.
The squid was so greasy, the salad slapped on beside it was also swimming in grease.
The mains was not appealing so I opted for two starters and rice and peas, salt fish fritters looked like limbs of ×××× no taste of fish cake, no pepper no flavour, I guess the sauce on the side substituted for pepper.
One of my parties has the jerk fried chicken, it looked like a large slab of stone, it was hard, no gravy no imagination no thought went it to it or the display.
The cheesecake was cheesecake with honeycomb thrown on top and popcorn in caramel on the side, no imagination, honeycomb could have been baked into the cheesecake, this is shop brought cheesecake with crap put on top.
Cocktails was ice with a tablespoon of alcohol!
This was not a carribean resturant it was more like Nandos with some kinda west Indian food, not worth the trouble.
We were sat promptly, however our starters took over 45 mins to arrive followed by our mains another 35 mins later. It was disappointing to receive our meal so late.
Wonderful place to go.
We had platter of fish which was delicious.
Reminded of us of eating out abroad.
People saw my pictures and thought I was abroad
I absolutely love the location and the food, my only constructive criticism is that the takeaway boxes need to be plastic and cardboard.
When wanting to take him left overs, the cardboard packaging is a disaster for curry’s!
The cocktail was lovely, however the food was very mediocre! Days old o shod not be used to cook anything, least of all a restaurants!
I would not recommend this Restaurant to anyone that knows what good food is.
Not happy with the food.
The saltfish fritters were doughy small tasteless ..couldn't taste any fish in it. The food is too pricey for what we were served and there was no happy hour!. The waitresses were lovely but were not familar with the food or drinks that was on the menu. ..?
First visit & will definitely return. The jerk salmon was really tasty & the waiters really friendly (Emanuel was great)
Lovely restaurant, service was good, food was lovely, would definitely recommend this place.
Had a really good time ! Food was great, Cocktails great and Anthony was so nice and pleasant!
My first time to any Cottons venue. It was really lovely. I would definitely go back. Very good value for money. I don’t believe restaurants are working at full staff capacity and therefore it was a bit difficult to call a waiter as it was so busy.
The food was great the service was great just a perfect restaurant.
Excellent service, always a relaxed atmosphere and friendly.
I discovered Cottons in general as of recent however had no idea that there was a Vauxhall branch as I live very locally! In much anticipation, I was finally able to attend and honestly this restaurant was my idea of perfect! Beautiful location on the riverside with both and indoor and outdoor terrace! Their cocktails were amazing (you have to try their Pina Colada's) and the sharing platter that my partner and I had was very well seasoned and succulent. I will 100% be returning again and I left the restaurant feeling very happily satisfied - Cottons Vauxhall contributed to a very lovely day yesterday! If you're looking for great vibes, great food and drink and great service, I would visit Cottons Vauxhall specifically :-)
Lovely little spot by the Thames. Jerk chicken was incredible!
Great food, amazing customer service from the gentleman who was new!
Will be back soon!
The costumer service was amazing, especially the welcome from the person who showed us to our seats. They were very quick to serve you both to take your order and to give you your meal. The meal was delicious and the view from outside was lovely 10/10 would recommend!
Amazing place, brilliant food, well done services!
It was lovely. Served quickly. The carbonated drinks were flat but we exchanged for something else.
I have to say that the experience for me was very poor! The food was cold, the drinks were not nice which was worse as on one occasion I had to wait almost 15 mins to get a drink and I had to ask three different people what happened to my drink.
The food was cold and seemed to have had jerk sauce overdosed.
The food lost its taste.
As my first experience of this place, it’s was bad. Not sure if I will attend again.
Amazing food and service! Definitely coming back!!
We went to Cottons for my daughter’s birthday and overall it was a nice experience. However, as we were about to leave the manager ( I assume) came over insisting that he had not had a full payment for the second table - which had the young twenty somethings from our group. Essentially he went through all the receipts and eventually realised he’d made mistake. Whilst he apologised I would have appreciated if he consulted his staff to double check, as we’d already calculated and paid the bill in full.
In terms of food - it was ok, but the ambience and service was good.
Coming back as soon as poss!!
Portions are very generous, cocktails are lush
Flavour and textures of food most or all amazing.
Does get very loud inside but it’s defo a go-to restaurant.
I loved the service! The staff were very friendly and our food came very quickly.
Food wasn’t very good. Jerk chicken was dry. Traditional food that didn’t taste fresh. Very disappointing
Lovely views of the Thames when dining outside. We had curry mutton with rice and peas which was delicious. The plantain was not ripe so tasted very dry. Cocktails are very pricey. We’ve always had good service at Cottons. On the whole I always enjoy dining at Cottons Vauxhall.
Mutton was very salty. Half chicken needed seasoning and was offered the incorrect dish. Couldn’t be bothered to send it on again for the correct choice
As a pescaterian I got fish mixed platter, I got a plate of all 3 of the same fish and no squid, now I dont know if they thought I wouldn't notice but I informed my waiter who then had to go and enquire with the chef what was on my plate, he said they had run out of the 2 other fish and squid, I asked as to why I was not informed he said he didn't even know, I asked him to remove my plate, he did ask if I would like anything else, bare in mind I was hungry it was well after 9 they close at 10pm so I declined as I didn't want to rush my food and I was disappointed at this point in time, billing time he said he would give me a discount on a meal that I didn't order or that I didn't eat, I asked him to speak to his manager the meal was removed off the bill, ive never had this experience before at cottons and I hope it was a one off but a little common curtesy goes a long way
Fabulous menu, food was really tasty and sitting outside was lovely
nice place to go ,next to the river,on a fine day really good
Sunny bank holiday so we were looking for al fresco dining. This location is great, Riverside. We sat outside near St. George Pier and we were quite pleased with the ambience. Unfortunately, the service was very slow, the food was ok (rather bland) and the cocktails were basic.
I believe that faster service, attention to detail when preparing the food and some fun and reimagined cocktails would increase this spot in my ratings. The Staff were friendly though; especially front of house security and host.
The food was fantastic and excellent value for money. The drinks are a bit pricey but very good. Atmosphere was great. The server was great but dont bother ordering drinks from the glass collecting girl as they never arrive although she is very friendly and polite .overall a wonderful evening
Food is phenomenal would highly recommend. Dumplings super soft curry goat super super soft mocktails great 10/10 for me
It was a nice place, good vibes and simple dinner. Really enjoyed it.
I prefer the shoreditch branch
Everything about my visit was good, considering the size of the restaurant the food was surprisingly good and full of flavour. The only thing that let me down was upon paying for for the bill we asked the waiter if the service charge gets split amongst the waiting staff and he explained that the service charge goes to the kitchen staff. This is ridiculous as my waiter done a amazing job and even though we paid the service charge we also cash tipped him. Next time I will remove the service charge because I do not agree with that.
Took my husband for dinner he only eat Carribean food he really enjoyed it and great rum punch
Once seated, server seemed to be polite and friendly and attentive, however once food and drink order was taken the server forgot to lay out and knives or forks or napkins on the ta or which meant when the food arrived we had to wait about 3/4 minutes trying to get another servers attention for cutlery. Once the server realised I wasn’t ordering anymore drinks it seemed like he had switched off from the table I was on and did not pay much attention and the friendly attitude then seemed to be more of a not caring attitude and. Sort of mood.
Food was below expectation compared to what you see that is posted on the social media Instagram.
The mac and cheese had been warmed up in the microwave because you could tell from the way the bowl was hot it was served in and the oil that was then sitting in the bowl of mac and cheese.
The rum cocktails seemed to be very poor in flavour and the strength was terrible. And the prices that were charged for the food were high considering the quality was not good
Great Evening at cottons, we sat outside and despite a bit of rain the set up kept us nice and dry, and the patio heaters warm.
Service was super efficient (thanks to our fab waitress - only know as Fanta no ice on our bill - she was excellent!). The food was super tasty as ever, you really can’t beat it - the only downside was we ate way too much!
We will be back to the restaurant, but are also very happy takeaway is back - just as good and a favourite of ours!
