Choose from either one of our favourite steaks on the menu or something from our wonderfully created specials, lovingly prepared by our small but exceptional kitchen team.
We advise how our steaks should be cooked; these are beautiful cuts of meat and by cooking them anymore, it may (probably will), affect how the steak tastes and its tenderness.
Please trust us, well done is not the way forward
If you love beef as much as we do, then you’re in the right place.

We went to cowshed after reading reviews. We live steak and wern't disappointed. Sides were lovely also. The service was friendly and efficient. Would recommend to anyone visiting liverpool ad we did.
Been to Cow Shed a couple of times now and you can not fault it. Definitely need to book as tables are limited
Great restaurant, amazing steak and brilliant service we will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend the fillet with sweet potato mash.
We had read in the review that the staff were friendly but that did not do them justice! Helpful and professional, they went out of their way to ensure we had a delightful evening - oh and the food was delicious as was the wine we selected
Everything was amazing
the restaurant is very nice！ both food & service
The building is superb and has been preserved. Service from arrival onwards was at tentative and food was very good, we enjoyed the steaks but were interested in the cauliflower steak slice.
A cosy pleasant evening in a good setting.
There is an old iron fireplace and to their surprise disbelief we suggested they black leaded it as in olden days. It is now called caste polish and is on Amazon.
Steak really could have been better. I asked for medium rare for my rib-eye. It ended up being medium on the edges and towards the very center of the steak, it was medium rare. I know it’s common, but for a restaurant that specialises in serving steak, I just expected more. Very disappointed considering the raving reviews.
Came to Liverpool from Sheffield and after reading reviews on TripAdvisor decided to give Cowshed a chance. Was not disappointed! Excellent food and service was friendly and engaging but not too much.
Would visit again when in Liverpool
My son and I went to the Cowshed for his birthday. The service was friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. The garlic mushrooms were the best I've ever tasted! The portions were just right, not too much so you felt uncomfortable. Could also fit in the chocolate and strawberry cheese cake which was fabulous!
It was a bit noisy in the room we were in but that was due to a large group of loud men celebrating a birthday so not the fault of the restaurant.
Would definitely recommend and we will be returning!
Amazing food and service was unbeatable
Great food, friendly service, excellent value. What more can I say.
Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was very good , menu gave recommendations on how your particular steak is best served. Very reasonably priced for quality of food. Staff found out it was my birthday and brought a complimentary drink over at the end of the meal. Venue was a little way from centre of town and only located by a small sign outside. But it was full when we dined , showing what good reviews and word of mouth can do for a business.
Would highly recommend , and can’t wait to visit again.
Nice ambience, good wines, steak very good, good service. All round good night
Outstanding restaurant, amazing staff and food. Delivers in every area and is complete value for money. The food is top class and the restaurant is a must visit .On the whole taking every aspect into consideration it is one of the best restaurants that I have been to.
Choice of food was minimal but that's what was so good about the menu, no messing about just good steak 👍 Will be going again
Staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful, my date was on crutches and staff moved us from upstairs to downstairs which was very much appreciated. Sides was ok, mushrooms a bit plain couldn't taste the garlic, Steak was a bit rare asked for medium, and had a bit of an almost burnt charcoal like taste on outside, but that's being picky. Will probably come again and give a second try.
limited starter menu ,but rarely good stakes and a decent wine list. the service is friendly and attentive
I can't recommend this enough the food was perfect it was my sons 21st and we had the most perfect evening could not fault the food excellent quality .
Amazing food, staff were great, friendly and informative.
Great starter and excellent steak for main. The one veggie option on the main menu was "cauliflower steak", so maybe one for meat eaters only, but the food was gorgeous and the staff were really friendly and attentive. Really good value for money too.
This was the best steak I have ever eaten. The whole ambience was fantastic and the staff very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend a visit
Really enjoyed our meal here - delicious steaks. Jazz, our waitress was great too
Very good meat, wine was delicious.
Took bread before eating with homemade butter, very good!
Portion is perfect, not too much but also not to less.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Cowshed. Excellent food service and ambience
can not fault our experience
Excellent dinner- 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed. The place to go in Liverpool for a great steak. Wine not too pricey either. Will definitely be going again.
This restaurant is small, you could be sitting in a front room, tho this made it very cosy. The staff were outstanding, Polite & so attentive. My husband had Rump steak & I had Ribeye, both steaks were out of this world. My husband flys all over the world & he said this was the best steak he had tasted! Our first time in Liverpool & I am so glad I read the reviews and booked this restaurant. You cannot visit Liverpool without trying this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
First time visit. Great food and ambience. Staff and service amazing and good boxing banter too. Will defibately be back.
Was amazed that this restaurant fulfilled every expectation! I worry when there's are glowing internet reviews as I have not always had a great experience, but I can't praise this restaurant and the staff highly enough. It's a long way from our home, but next time we are in the area we will definitely visit
Very nice food and friendly staff. It's a place for people love juicy steaks!!!
Really cool place, great service, great steaks, relaxed and will become a new favorite. The limited menu shouldn't put you off and the greedy cow option is a great way to be introduced to the place. Over time it may need the menu refreshing occasionally but sure they have that under control. Great quality at a truly reasonable price which is a rarity
i had a rump steak and it was the best steak ive ever had.staff was very friendly and chatty.we visited cow shed on sunday afternoon and it was very quiet but it didnt spoil it for us.i have already told my workmates its definately worth a visit.
We went for lunch at this small venue, as the evening was fully booked. For lunch booking appeared to be not neccesary. The friendly, happy staff welcomed us warmly and the small menu makes chosing easy. For main, it's either steak or the vegitarian option. Both were delicious! And although blackberry cheesecake with plum coulis sounded a bit odd, it just won from my chocolate raspberry tart. Overall, a very nice meal at a very nice place!
Superb food , excellent background music and service
A meet up with old friends from years ago. Restaurant is cool in a shabby chic kind of a way. V limited menu and only really for meat eaters. Starter/appetiser choice was poor tbh. Mains were great. Desserts were so-so. £6.00 for a microwaved tart is a bad idea. Pastry and microwaves don't mix! Will defo go back tho!
Amazing food and lovely service
had read very good reviews about the Cowshed, so wanted to try it for ourselves.
Really good, steak FAB, mushroom in garlic, mushroom sauce and fries.....brill oh and a btl of vino, went down very well.
Next time in Liverpool will defo go again.
We shared the Greedy cow between two of us. Nicest steak I've ever had. Cooked to perfection.
We booked on the day and were seated downstairs in a cosy booth. The bar staff and waiters were so friendly and welcoming. Lovely choice of drinks and cocktails. Room is quite sparse with quirky bovine pictures, perhaps a few candles on the windowsill would be a nice touch? The food was outstanding, menu limited to steak and have to say one of the nicest steaks we have ever tasted, gorgeous sides and the cheesecake was exceptional! Would highly recommend, we will be back with cowbells on.
Excellent food and service. 4 of us went as part of a weekend the Open and this was one of the highlights. Small and very friendly restaurant. Would highly recommend it.
