Crab Tavern Ratings and Reviews
A great evening and the meal was exceptional. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable on the menu and ingredients. It is definitely worth it if you are a fish lover but the menu is restricted for other choices apart from vegetarian.
One minor criticism would be the cost of their cocktails at £12 each but again it is London. Food very good value for money though as well as tasty.
Will definitely go back again
Was a lovely evening, the food was great quality and definitely be the reason I will be rushing back! The one thing I would say on the negative side was the services was a little slow, we wasn't in a rush so it wasn't a problem with us but would say it's something for them to look into. Will be coming back
we had a fantastic meal, being fish lovers it had everything we could wish to choose .... enjoyed the oysters and then the hot platter.. ( only complaint was that there were too many small shrimps which were too fiddly to bother with).... good value for money and in a fantastic location for people watching
We enjoyed our meal, sadly it was let down by bad service. Our starters and mains arrived at the same time - the waiter apologised as this was his mistake but refused to send the mains back to the kitchen to at least be kept warm. Also he poured enormous measures of wine from the bottle in an apparent attempt to push us to order another bottle which we refused.
Finally when our bill came this included service automatically. It was removed at my request but it seemed pretty strange that this was included automatically for two people when there had been such a clear mistake on the delivery of our food.
A shame as it was otherwise a pleasant evening.
Ended up feeling underwhelmed. The menu looked really good but the portion sizes were small and the main course was incredibly salty. There was also a live singer who, whilst she had a good voice, was loud enough to drown out conversation at a normal level. I may have caught them on an off night though as the place was very clean and tidy and the menu very appealing
The venue is loud, ear splittingly loud, and seems to be the offsite club for the UBS offices just next door. Large tables of suits who'd all clearly been drinking there for a while, and women who were racing through the bottomless drinks, so by the time we arrived it was much more student union than edgy restaurant.
I had the lobster, followed by the Eton mess; both were a massive disappointment, the first overcooked, the latter had been elevated to a single quinel of cream, 3 mini piped meringue peaks and a massacre of sour cherry coulis, oh, and I think I counted 2 blueberries and a further 2 raspberries spread across an otherwise empty plate, save for the really sour coulis, did I mention the coulis? I couldn't eat it, who wants to eat a spoonful of cream? I even complained about it, but apparently others enjoyed the chefs re-imaginings of this classic pud, so well, that was that.
We had a confirmed reservation for December 24th, 4+1 4 years old girl, with last email on the same day....we arrived at the restaurant and it was closed!!!!!!!!!!! This is the worst experience with open table I've ever had!!!!!
