Portions got a lot smaller during Eat out to help out.
Some staff need to make not to take out their tiredness on customers. We understand Eat out to help out has made it extremely busy but there was no need to be rude as well as demand us to stacks the plates without saying please or thank you.
Only for those who like unhealthy food.
Beef brisket wasn't good
My friend had been before and had a great experience, ours however was quite disappointing. The food was great, everything else meh. I had a strawberry mojito that tasted like lime water.😐 We were served by three different people and only one seemed to have been trained in customer service. Maybe our expectations were a bit high as we have both worked in hospitality, but the customer service could do with a HUGE improvement.
I will definitely be back as it could happen they were having a bad day.
Oh that Smokehouse Burger!!!
Was all ok until we found a hair in the sharer platter so staff refunded us for that meal wouldn’t go back again
Great BBQ, fantastic beers and really well managed in terms of social distancing! Highly recommended!
Starters great (wings, jackfruit tacos squid) Mains mediocre (pulled pork v disappointing). Staff all very friendly and felt safe with social distancing.
Great choice if beer great service. Burger for me slightly over cooked for me but that's preference and the flavour was on point so no all good overall for me.
Ive loved C&C since it opened. great beers and great food
Fantastic food, fantastic service and great outdoor area.
It's a must, an experience everybody should experience
Love craft and cleaver, they have amazing drinks and great food options. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The booths in the outside area have a great vibe especially when the sun is out.
Great food lovely atmosphere. Attentive staff. Very safe system for ordering and service!
Staff were amazing! All so friendly and helpful. Food was outstanding, best food I’ve had - will definitely be coming back here
Lovely sitting outside in the garden. Food excellent. Service was great although we had quite a long wait between starters and main. Really enjoyed our evening out.
Fantastic selection of craft ales along with friendly and attentive staff. Will be going back very soon.
Have eaten here a couple of times before and the food was so much better. It was so disappointing as our first family meal out since lockdown
We had to wait a long time for food, which the waiter did come over and explain that there had been a big order just before ours which is why we had to wait so long, but I think we waited about 40 minutes for just our starters!
When we asked for bbq sauce (considering it’s a bbq steakhouse) we were told there weren’t any.. in the end the waiter asked the chef and managed to get us some!
The food was good, tasty burger!
It was nice of the waiter to ask the manager to give us some free drinks as we’d had to wait so long for our food... I thought that was very thoughtful without us having to ask!
I’d definitely go back, just as long as I’m not in a rush ☺️
I was so looking forward to our meal there after so much time without restaurants. We had a outside table which was fine other than the lights above the table were covered in cobwebs so obviously nobody done much of check in the months they’ve been close. Not a massive deal but it was surprising. Food was definitely below par too, I love bbq but this was painfully dry, chicken wings seemed like they were either massively overcooked or cooked several times. The waiter not great either had to ask for things that were missing, also I felt it was a bit off when the drinks menu offered a fancy cream soda brand & what arrived was a Tesco no added sugar can that cost 99p for 4 in the shops but we still got charged more than £3.50 for, a mark up is fine but 1500% mark up is taking the mick a little. Real shame as I really wanted this place to be great & it isn’t. 2nd time we’ve been as I said I’d love a local bbq restaurant to hit the mark but both times we left massively disappointed.
We went for our anniversary. The staff couldn’t have been nicer! They even moved us inside when we had an outside table. The food was great. However, I had the grilled peach and halloumi salad, but the menu did not specify there would be mustard in it. It said there would be a spicy salad dressing but instead it was mustard. The entire dish tasted of mustard and I would not have ordered this if I knew. The Mac and cheese also had blue cheese in it, and again, I would not have ordered it if I knew. Both blue cheese and mustard are overpowering tastes and should maybe be included on the menu as a main ingredient. Apart from that it was nice.
Our first dinner out with the family since lockdown and it was a great night. Very good social distancing but still some atmosphere. Staff were lovely, food very tasty and good value.
Since opening I find the quality of food at Craft and Cleaver has gone down where as the prices have gone sky high with less for your money. A combo meal used to be £16.50 with a choice of 2 sides and lots of variety (pit beans, onion rings etc), now it is up to £19 with only a small portion of fries and a dollop of coleslaw for your money. £8 for 6 of the smallest wings I have ever seen seems pricey for a starter. I would recommend a small burger joint called Meating Room a couple of doors away - twice the feed for half the price.
Delicious barbecued meats, beef brisket was excellent, as was the pulled pork, great hot sauce too!
It’s lovely to have Craft & Cleaver back after lock down!
Amazing food, we had the platter. Feels like a normal restaurant experience despite the extra precautions. Only reason not 5 stars is that they didnt have the ingredients in stock for the drink I selected.
Calamari cooked perfectly. Burger was banging. Great selection of beers. Worth the visit.
Took 20 mins for drinks to arrive, then forgetting one persons drink, was not busy so no excuse. did not receive main course until 1.5 hours later.. no one came to ask how the food was (poor service) burger was uncooked and disgusting.. last time we came here it was not like this and we won’t be returning.
Great meal and good beer. Service was good and social distancing wasn’t well managed
Great food as always. Service a tad slow but you can empathise given current circumstances. Prices have been raised, any more price movement and it will just been too expensive for me to continue coming here once a fortnight. £100 for a starter, dinner and 2 drinks each. I hope this will be looked at given the movement in VAT.
Lovely visit! Came for first meal out with new baby and was seated in a cosy corner to ourselves. Waitress was lovely and service was brilliant. Food was delicious! Will definitely be visiting again soon.
Booked a table in the garden. Well organised. Chose drinks and food from their website and staff brought to table. First pub trip after lockdown and felt normal but also guidelines were followed so felt safe. Great beer in the sun!
Brilliant as always! Great food, brilliant staff and delicious cocktails
Given the current (July 2020) unusual circumstances, everything went well . The service was very good as was the food, in generous portions. We will certainly go back.
great food, staff and atmoshere. put this on your hit list of place to go.
Great place for food or just to have drinks with friends. Friendly staff and good atmosphere
My husband and I visited for our first dining experience after lockdown and we were so glad we chose this establishment!
It was a Monday lunchtime so pretty quiet, but the atmosphere was relaxed and we felt at ease throughout our visit. Booking online was easy and we chose the outdoor seating in the lovely garden out the back.
There were safety measures in place and the staff were super friendly. We both ordered burgers and they were absolutely delicious!! Would highly recommend.
Great atmosphere and service and amazing food, would definitely recommend and go back myself.
Firstly, the guys who were working on the evening myself and my family went there were really friendly and helpful. 5 stars for service. The food was amazing. The portions were huge. We had to take 2 boxes home with us as we couldn’t finish the meal! Compared to the size of the meals, the prices were completely reasonable. A little more that we would normally pay, we are a family of 5, but not that much to be fair. Not your normal barbecue restaurant as in , no rack of ribs but 2 choices of 1 HUGE beef rib and I mean HUGE. Looked like it came from a T-Rex. Or 3 very big pork ribs. Lots of side selection too. We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening there and would definitely recommend it.
Most amazing Burger! The waitress was lovely and chatty and the food was just simply amazing! Quite busy and no wait on food at all! I WILL BE RETURNING! Happy customer!
Had a nice meal, food was pretty good. The mains are way better value than the starters. Took a bit of time for order to be taken and bill to come at the end
