Craft & Dough - Kelham Island
The food was lovely, but the time taken from ordering to receiving our pizzas was very long.
we went for the bottomless brunch at Sheffield Kelham island on Sunday 15th September 2019 the service and value were great.
Our server was a man with a black beard and glasses who was excellent at his job moving round the busy restaurant making sure everyone was served properly. He definitely went above and beyond to make our table comfortable & welcome
The craft and dough breakfast was possible the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. The breakfast was swimming in the pizza sauce, sausage wasn’t cooked and the bacon was just fat, it was revolting. We only ate some of it because we were there for the bottomless brunch so needed something to soak up the alcohol.
Great bottomless brunch, food was delicious and very attentive staff
Went for the bottomless brunch, good food, excellent friendly service and they were generous with the fizz! :) Really enjoyed it.
First class staff , great food and even better value
I do like this restaurant and the food is always really good. On this occasion apparently a new chef had started and wasn't prepared for a tuesday lunchtime. Unfortunately we had to wait 45 minutes for our food and there was only one server for the whole of the restaurant. Luckily we weren't in a rush and the waiter did apologise. When the food came it was really good as usual so it wouldn't put me off going again.
Great service. A pleasure to order and enjoy a normal size gluten free pizza. All of our party enjoyed their pizzas and extras. Thanks
I would recommend this place as the food is delicious and very good value for money. The only downside on this visit was the restaurant was very crowded due to a family party which included 10+ young children. The noise level was really high and the service staff were extremely busy.
Extremely impressed by the table staff, seated us quickly, taking our food and drink order quickly and efficiently. Our second order of drinks were late, staff offered us these at no cost; very satisfied.
Really good food and excellent service - first time I’ve eaten here (usually just drinks) but will deffo come again! Xx
Far too hot, could do with some fans, although I do appreciate it was a very hot day!!!
Waited for service. Pizzas burned at first attempt so had to wait for food one dish was served but others had to wait.
The best, friendliest service I have had for a very long time.
Went for the wine Wednesday deal, £20 two pizzas and a bottle of wine, sounds a great deal, pizzas were v good..... Everything else I wasn't too impressed with, the wine lol, it was an average bottle of Spanish white wine, didn't expect anything else for the money, that's fine, but it arrived to the table already opened.... And it tasted off.
Then there was the poor service, took a while to get served, even though some, of
the staff seemed more intent on chatting to each other.
I am not wanting to go back, it's only my partner who would as the pizzas are good.
Very good all round.
Had a groupon so excellent value for money, food was delicious & service from staff spot on. We will definitely return.
I booked through OpenTable and specifically asked for a low table. On arrival staff informed us that they could not view this request on their screens and the only tables available were high. This was not really suitable but we went ahead. It was noticeable that low tables for four were all occupied by two people and that all the tables for two were unoccupied. Also in the time we were there only one of the couples occupying low tables for four were actually dining. The staff tried and in two cases served the couples concerned with their bills. Neither responded, did not buy any further drinks and were still there after we left having dined. I felt sorry for the staff who continually came over to apologise. However the dining experience is being diminished by the use of the venue as a place for a long leisurely drink.
Very friendly service. Would definitely recommend.
Very good, waiter was really good recommending drinks too
Very nice food and good value. Service was excellent ...
We came here to celebrate our engagement with our family, and we all really enjoyed it. The food was delicious as always, and the waitress was attentive & so friendly.
Thank you for a great time, we can’t wait to come back for more pizza!
There were two things that let Craft & Dough down on Sunday, the main one being the service. Although the server was pleasant enough, there was a certain lack of "energy" and it felt that the person was doing it just because it was a job rather than because it was something they actually enjoyed. The other thing was despite it only being very early afternoon one group on the table behind us had clearly been putting the drink away and as our 6 year old granddaughter pointed out were using swear words which you could not fail to hear.
We went to Craft and Dough for the Bottomless Brunch. The food was nice and when we'd finished our first pint they were swiftly replaced without us asking, and a member of staff promptly asked us if we wanted another thereafter. The food arrived within 10 minutes or so and the staff were attentive and polite. I ordered the full English breakfast and would have preferred it on a plate rather than in the dish it was served, but that's just my personal preference. No complaints regarding the food itself. Will be returning and have advised others to give Craft and Dough a visit.
Food was amazing
Really good service, and great food! Would recommend it to anyone to visit, as it is a convenient location and has great staff who work there.
Lovely Place to eat and the sun was shining so a bonus to eat outside. They have a variety of pizzas so it was hard to choose but went with the tandoori chicken which was lovely. Staff were very pleasant too.
We went for the 2 pizzas and a bottle of house wine for £20. And ordered exactly that. However, once the bill came, they had charged us an extra £1.50 for gluten free base and an extra £1.50 for vegan cheese. This was never specified on the website or board containing the deal, as it said “pizza” and didn’t state they’d charge extra for allergies. The £3 was knocked off after asking, but unsure how they could justify this as it was not specified. Usually have no problems with craft and dough but the serviced we received on that day was disappointing
Lovely food, good choice and great value for money.
Everything was superb! Made better by the funny waiter who looked like he was really enjoying his work :-) thank you!
This is the second time myself and my mum have visited craft and dough at kelham island and can’t rate it higher. The food was beautiful and was lots to chose from on the brunch menu. The staff there were outstanding, there were so friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us on our visit.
Amazing food and amazing service! Such a lovely atmosphere!
Quite disappointed. Great pizza but very sloppy service - one mistake and two things forgotten. A much reduced beer list since the last time I visited, which is a problem because the USP is that it’s pizza and craft beer - it’s even in the name! I also noticed large amounts of cans not kept in fridges it seemingly even anywhere cool like a cellar. Particularly frustrating was that there was no Duvel despite the branding being displayed very prominently outside ☹️. Not only was it not available, but the server didn’t appear to know what Duvel was or recognise that this was annoying. It’s a real shame because this used to be better and I had chosen to go again based on the previously interesting beer list.
Bought a groupon voucher which was good value. Booked a table for 7.30, waited 15 minutes for drinks to be brought out. Had to enquire twice as to where to food was, it was 80 minutes after arrival before the food came out having been brought other peoples orders to our tables 3 times. Once to food arrived had to ask for cutlery and sauces as they weren’t offered. Had to ask for tap water as our drinks were long gone before the food arrived. The server was helpful and friendly but the service was far too slow. Went to the bar to pay the bill on the way out.
*Struggled to get a parking space
*starter was nice halloumi fries for both of us mains on the other hand i had piggy smalls it was so different to last time i had it, pulled pork was anaemic and the bacon was very fatty and no frazzles on it.
£5.50 for a can of cider is abit much too and £7.00 for a cocktail that tasted like it had no alcohol in it also got a parking fine happy birthday to me
I went to Craft and Dough for a wedding anniversary celebration. A group of 8 of us. We all had pizza and a drink. The serving staff were friendly and helpful, and the pizzas were a good size and were very tasty! The only let down was my dessert that was supposed to be chocolate dough balls .. it looked more like a large pile of dog turds!! I’ve told the restaurant that it needs altering :) I’d certainly go back .. but I’d choose a different dessert 😂
Brilliant night, brilliant food. It was a very busy Friday but the staff were super friendly and the service was excellent. A lovely place to spend an evening with friends
Enjoyed our visit on a beautiful sunny evening. Service was slow but we were offered free drinks to compensate which we appreciated. The vegan pizza was delicious.
Great pizzas, service a little slow
