The food was delicious, really enjoyed the evening and all the staff were very friendly. The only down side was we had been bought this meal by friends via Groupon voucher. The voucher included a drink and a three course meal, we asked when we arrived what drinks were included in our voucher and we were led to believe we could have the drinks we had ordered, G&T and a glass of wine. When the bill came we had been charged £25 for our drinks when I queried this I was told our free drink was the bottle of tap water we had been given on arrival. I would suggest moving forward you're more clear about this.

Staff were friendly , service was slightly slow , drinks were ordered and chased with two servers .

The weather impacted on service as no cover between walkway and pods so plates were wet .

Did mention plates weren’t warm and food was cold on main although flavor and presentation was amazing . Was told restaurant were looking to get closch to cover plates moving forward although that didn’t really effect our service .

Table was sticky where had been wooed down , not enough cutlery in pod , but prepped for next guests .

Food looked and tasted amazing but service was let down by cold plates and food and slow service .

It is the first time I have tried the set dinner menu at Craft. We were on an outside table due to the new Tier 2 COVID-19 restrictions. There was a slight issue with the booking due to the reservation system changing over but the Craft team were easily contactable on email and text and resolved the problem straight away. The staff went out of their way to ensure my friend and I had a great evening (even making sure our fire pit was topped up to keep us warm!) and my friend had a great birthday as a result. The choice of English wine is really refreshing - I have never seen that many options on one menu before. The food was excellent (I just wish there was slightly more of it!) I will definitely be going back. Thanks again

After hearing the news from Boris craft has dealt with out booking professionally and have adapted to the new guidelines extremely well. I have told friends and family about what they've done for us and how amazing the food was taste and presentation was not like I expected. It actually exceeded expectation, highly recommend for food and would definitely go back for the pods!

We were seated in a pod celebrating a 30th birthday. Lovely evening, food was very tasty! Service was great overall, a few minor things like we didn’t receive any water when we asked for a top up and a lot of the cocktails were not available but staff were very polite, attentative and overall was a great experience. Would recommend!

The decor and ambience is not comfortable. The colour scheme is more like a cafeteria, with poor lighting to hide it. The menus were printed light grey on dark grey in small print in poor lighting. Not even the waiter could read it. The wine list was in ridiculously small print. They did not appear to be disposable menus, which would be expected during Covid-19. Why not supply a QR code to read the menus online?
Service was slow. It required a waiter to explain every item on the menu because descriptions were so sparse. It didn't even indicate the first item was a soup.
Food taste was mostly good, but some things, like lobster jelly, tasted of nothing.
Portions were so small, we left hungry after 2 courses.
In summary: pretentious, overpriced and inadequate portions.

Craft
Responded on 11 October 2020

We have been using same menu for over a year with no issues, equally the decor is something that is raved about from hundreds of others as for a QAR menu we tried this and everyone said it was far to difficult to view online & completely goes against your previous comments regarding size, equally not everyone has the tech to use one so we opted for disposable menus instead..In respect of the waiter describing the menu well thats kind of normal if you don't like that then apologies.

Menu is disgusting. Drinks are equally disgusting. If you want to leave you will be threatened with a £140 charge even if you didn’t order anything. Don’t recommend.

Craft
Responded on 11 October 2020

Did you actually dine as we are at a loss as to where the £140 figure comes from and your comments are completely against the vast majority of comments from diners at our venue from review the reality seems to be that you booked without reading the menu didn't wanted to cancel last minute where you was advised you would be charged for cancelling but the figure you quote is wildly wrong and inaccruate

The cancellation fee of £50 per person (so £300 for our party) is absolutely ridiculous for the value of the restaurant. We couldn’t go during our initial booking date due to a covid scare, and instead of being able to cancel, we needed to change to another date just so my card wouldn’t be charged £300. The plates were tiny, and even though the food was okay/good, it definitely was not worth the money or stress surrounding the cancellation fee. The restaurant was made to look a lot nicer on their website, and a third of the drinks were not available on the night. Also, for a restaurant that considers itself worthy of a £50 cancellation fee, the toilets really need an upgrade.

Craft
Responded on 11 October 2020

The facts in this case are inaccurate you booked you tried to cancel and we advised there would be a charge for cancelling something which you agreed to at the time of booking,we therefore gave you the option to move your booking to an another date as for the toilets they are being upgraded this week,in respect of the food the vast majority love it as you can see from the reviews however I suspect your view was tarnished by the fact you had to move your booking rather then being able to cancel.

Great food. Great service. Let down by filthy toilets. My partner was shocked at how dirty the female toilets. I visited the men’s and have to stay they didn’t match the standards met across the night. Real shame. Sort this and you ll have a great place that I’d highly recommend. Thanks for the visit

This restaurant was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent, service and staff a very high standard without being intrusive.
Everything felt very safe in these Covid times, and all precautions were as unobtrusive as they could be, yet everything you wanted to be reassured was evident.
Great to have such a restaurant in Birmingham.

Loved the experience in the pod. Staff all really friendly, food delicious. Only issue we had was there was limited beers and not all of wines were available. Wine we had wasn’t great and quite expensive. When we came previously choice was better, so assume COVID impact.
