Turned up for my booking and the place was closed. I travelled 40 minutes and paid for parking. I was not contacted to be informed the place was closed even though I provided an email address and contact number on booking!
Arrived to find the restaurant had closed - without any attempt to notify me of need to cancel.
Cranside Kitchen was closed but you can still book a table
It was shut. Clearly has been for a considerable period of time but Open table still taking bookings, as WWE stood outside
We have now been twice and have enjoyed it greatly. The outdoor seating is warm and inviting and we were already fans of most of the restaurants working here.
From end to end superb attentive but not intrusive service
The food wasn’t as good as last time, the volcano roll wasn’t as tasty for some reason. The takoyaki was pretty cold, staff were great and got new one. But then it was super super sweet when it came back out, i felt too bad to say again lol so just ate it. My pal’s food was fine, but yeah i found the food not as good as when i went before couple of months ago
There was no clear signage upon entering and people walking the wrong way at you upon entry. Went for the halloumi menu. The food was average. The service was quite good. There just wasn’t a good vibe and I wouldn’t return...
First time visited in Saturday staff were really friendly maybe just a bit slow for getting your drinks order but food was outstanding out the Italian menu will definitely be back
The four of us had the Greek menu and was very good , but everything from food to wine/beer is very overpriced. . Great service nice staff. We had to leave quickly for a taxi and totally forgot to leave a tip for staff who really deserve it and feel bad about that. Will make it up if we go back . Thanks for the great service
Great location, amazing choice of food. Just a bit chilly when the wind bites despite the heaters.
Really nice outdoor eating area in the sun. A bit disappointed we had to both order from the same kitchen menu when one of us wanted Greek and the other Italian. Meatballs when they came were delicious but could have been a bit warmer. Good value in a nice location though and free parking too.
Excellent venue, staff were brilliant, food was great and the service was amazing! Overall would highly recommend this place and having had the Italian menu I'll definitely be back to try the rest
Cranside is a really nice set up with a range of food on offer. However, myself and friend were sat for 35 minutes before we could get the attention of a waiter to take our order, this was annoying as it was not busy and we quite clearly had no drinks/cutlery on the table. The waiter who took our order was really nice and apologetic. The quality of food (Halloumi) was okay but definitely not up to scratch with the original restaurant. The food came out cold and was made colder by the fact we were sitting outside. Certain things were burnt/tiny portions. We only went due to the eat out to help offer on and were happy to use the promotion, but it was a little disappointing.
Great food , service & location , only thing I’d highlight is the footpath to toilets is poorly lit & the kerb down was a trip hazard at night .
Really good food, would definitely go again and try the other menus
Went with my two kids and we loved it. No children's menu, but the youngest had pizza and chips and the remaining slices did not go to waste.
Really lovely meal. Went as part of the September discount, which was an added bonus and will certainly be back and happy to pay full price.
Really let down by the restriction of the choice of one restaurant per table. For this reason alone we wouldn’t return. The waiter downstairs was great but upstairs staff rude. The food was way overpriced and salty. Slightly concerned it was microwaved.
Would not recommend!
Booked a table in July and did not get informed that we would be sat outside on a bench. No one came near us to take drink orders or food orders. We ended up asking for the bill and found else where to go.
Use to love coming here for food however I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.
Service was absolutely amazing. There was an hour wait for the bottomless brunch menu but the waitresses communicated this to us clearly at the beginning and suggested menus were there would be a shorter wait so we had a clear idea of when to expect our food to arrive. It’s all about the communication! And they were 10/10 with that
Have visited twice now and slow service both times. Drinks are also overpriced. On my second visit I went for bottomless brunch and brunch kitchen was too busy so had to order something from a diff menu. Not a terrible experience but definitely won't be returning and think there are much better beer gardens and restaurants in Glasgow to visit.
Great service, great staff, well looked after, definitely be back soon.
Waited well over an hour for the brunch on Sunday and felt the additional charges weren’t worth the value. However, the overall atmosphere was great love the set up.
The range of options were excellent as was the quality, only slight mark against was the speed of service for drinks, which was on the slow side. However, it was overall an excellent experience.
Service was very slow for drinks and we waited a long time for our sides. However it was a great atmosphere and a fab day!
The value of the brunch was really good for the drinks however the food wasnt great quality. The food was cold when we got it after nearly an hour there. We were told as soon as we sat down that the brunch was very popular and the kitchen was backed up.
They obviously didn't expect that amount to do the brunch. The price was good but only because of the drinks I wouldnt go back for the food again which is a real shame since I've been to the restaurant in shawlands and can't fault the food.
This was the second time I have visited Cranside kitchen and once again I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The staff were also fantastic, very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Will be visiting again soon
We absolutely loved Cranside kitchen. Could’ve done with being sat closer to some heat but overall we loved the food and the drinks. We will definitely be back.
Not very enjoyable experience at Cranside. We had booked a table inside but upon arriving we were told there was an electrical fault so it was outside only seating. We were given no apology and were sat very far away from the outdoor heaters so it was much too cold to enjoy the evening. The service was average, food arrived before the drinks did and the food was only ok. It was disappointing that you could only choose to order from one menu per table, and also Rioja (the Spanish tapas menu) was not an option despite Cranside advertising them on their social media. Disappointed and would not recommend to a friend.
It took over an hour before we got our drinks, people who came in after us got their drinks before us.
It’s a lovely set up, especially when it gets dark. It was confusing as to where the entrance was as I had booked to sit inside I thought you entered via the building and the outside entrance was for the beer garden but it was the outside entrance that entered. I thought it was a table inside as that’s what I requested at the time of booking but it wasn’t opened so we where given a table outside which was fine if the heater had been working. Drink we’re good just the food wasn’t great. Our food came out but we had to wait 15mins for cutlery and by then the food had gone cold. Service was slow but that’s cause there wasn’t many staff on.
Drinks took far too long we had finished our food before even having our first drink, I know this was an on going issue as all the surrounding tables where complaining about the same issue. I also booked a table for inside on the website and was told upon arrival the inside wasn’t even open. We weren’t even near a heater so had to leave early as we were shivering and uncomfortable as it was far too cold
Food was great and brilliant value for money. However really disappointed to be told when we got there we could only sit outside and had no pre warning that this was the only option for seating. We were then sat beside a heater that did not work so we were cold for the majority of the meal.
Service was very poor, especially given the staff to customer ratio. To get served we had to try catch the eye of someone passing because noone came to take our order. We booked for inside but we're seated outside, so we're pestered by wasps and it got a bit chilly as the afternoon went on.
We ordered starter and mains which arrived together, although we'd not been told to expect this. Food was tepid when it arrived so got cold quickly.
Booked a table inside as it was a cold day but got sat outside and half of the burners were off so it was freezing. Told inside seating shut which was the biggest disappointment as spend the time trying to keep warm instead of enjoying what was good food and drink
Excellent restaurant! Dessert menu was especially great!
Initially walking in I was a bit put off with the outdoor area being in a car park but once in the garden area it was lovely. My friend was a little cold and asked if we could move inside for food. Staff were very accommodating and moved us with no problem. We are from the Pickled Ginger menu which was fantastic! The sea bass sashimi and veggie tempura were my favourites. Again the staff were really friendly and all the Covid rules were adhered to, making us feel comfortable. The cocktails were delicious. I asked to change the spirit in mine and again it was no issue and staff remembered this for the next round of drinks. Including a tip, 5 cocktails and food we were £50 a head which I thought was very reasonable.
Can’t fault it!
Would definitely go back.
Gyros are lovely.
Food was slow to arrive but was decent enough when it arrived. Good value with £10 off pp but full price would have been a bit steep.
Really disappointing experience, didn’t even stick around long enough to order any food! We specifically selected an indoor table when making a reservation for lunch online as due to the time of year it’s cold to sit outside especially not in a sunlit area. We were told on arrival that indoor seating was not available at lunch time - why let us have that option when booking it online then? Sat down and we were told that both my partner and I would have to order off of the same menu per table which seems silly also - why can’t we order from separate specialities? Isn’t that the point in having the variety? Regardless, we were barely sat down before the waiter began to turn the metal sheeting above us which provide cover over the seating area. We were met with a downpour of rain water all over us and our table. Nice one!! So now not only were we freezing but also soaked... from there is was a no go - time to find somewhere else to eat. Not even an offer of a hot drink on the house to heat us up as our clothes were wet. Poor customer service, won’t be back!!
