Chicken Satay Skewers
I know it's a tapas type service but they brought the chips half an hour before the souvlaki.
Food was delicious. Love the choice of restaurants. Starr were lovely, only negative was the ladies toilets were in a bad state, most toilet seats broken or cracked.
Great choice of food and great service. We'll be back again.
We had cucumber maki, chicken gyoza and salt and chilli wings to start. This was delicious. My friend’s main course, chicken and cashew nuts was also lovely.
However, the chicken curry was very poor. It was watery, and tasted like a very cheap curry sauce. No one enquired how our food was at any time, and we had to try get someone’s attention to tell them how bad curry the was. By this time, we had ordered an alternative salt and chilli chicken which unfortunately was extremely dry and disappointing. This dish was left uneaten also.
plenty of different menu choices , we had pizzas which were both good and had a nice bottle of very reasonably priced red to wash it down
Very poor quality food
Thai green curry sauce had obviously come out a prepared container
Would not recommend as there is the best Thai restaurant in Glasgow 19 minutes away
We all enjoyed our food, it arrived quite quickly. The staff were all very pleasant.
Food was yummy, but the downstairs is freezing due to staff serving those outside. Most people had jackets on and soon we were the only table there. When our food was served no one would remove our old plates and we had the same cutlery for duration. Had to keep moving our glasses onto another table for space.
Food and staff great. Although Christmas music playing loud was the downside. When eating out I prefer to have conversation without shouting.
We were sat next to spiral staircase which meant that we heard noise from floor below. Food was lovely, service was quick and staff were helpful and friendly
Would visit again
The fact you can’t pay by cash caused us lots of problems as a party of 6 ! Food all arrived a different times chicken souvlaki was over cooked so hard could hardly chew it and nearly cold ! All very chaotic not the kind of dining experience we are used to and not for us at all. If you like Luke warm food eating at diff times from your friends drinks arriving in middle of meal etc then go for it. Not the cheapest either and for this experience not worth the money at all. We won’t be back !!!!
Food was fantastic and the atmosphere was buzzing!
We had a lovely meal and were looked after well. The service was rather speedy. The only problem I had was I was unable to connect to the wifi & therefore was unable to view menus or order. Luckily my guest was able to.
We ate in Romano's and the food was lovely. One of our party is gluten free and they were very happy to make gluten free pasta in whichever dish was ordered. Inside is spacious and I like that the kitchens are open planned so that you can see the chefs cooking.
Was really good, the BOA buns were amazing will definitely be back,
With the all you can eat sushi event you only have the table for a limited time. We ordered food and waited for around half an hour (which isn't that bad) but were getting close to when we had to hand the table back. Turns out they messed up the order and gave it to another table 🤣. The manager (I think) was great though and sorted everything out very quickly and was apologetic. Overall, totally worth it and will be back!
Couldn’t take my jacket off inside as it was so cold, the draft that was blowing through from the front door was bone chilling, even moved tables but was worse where we moved too. Food was very good, great concept with the different kitchens serving different cuisines. Drinks were ok too.
Slightly more expensive than expected
place was quite busy but our order came quite quickly and they brought it all at the same time even though there were choices from different menus. Portions were large and good value for money. Drinks came as asked for, would like more choice on the cocktail menu. Staff were helpful and pleasant and the table was clean. Would use the place again. Thank you for a nice meal
We got sat right next to the door, I asked the women to move but said no even though there was other tables … freezing cold eating my dinner not a pleasant experience , also the Chinese food that we had ordered was so bland end up not eating half of it and left 30 mins in
This was my first visit to the Cranside Kitchen and was pleasantly surprised how nice it was. We were greeted quickly on arrive and shown to our table.
To order you have to scan a bar code on the table which takes you to an app to order and pay for your meals. I managed it easily and food and drinks arrived quickly.
we chose meals from the Cantonese menu, Beef Satay and chicken curry with rice and chips and my fussy teenager loved it as I did.
The waiter who served us was very helpful, polite efficient and friendly. Over all I enjoyed my time here and would not hesitate to return.
I understand that due to the nature of the restaurant that if we ordered from two separate places that our food may arrive at different times. We were completely okay with this. However my friends meal came 35 minutes before mines did. Due to the fact it was a concert night, we had to vacate the table after an hour and a half, which of course would normally be okay, but my meal had just arrived by the time we were getting encouraged to leave. Booked it for convenience but wouldn’t book again.
The offer, food from nay different countries was outstanding. We opted for Cantonese and it was really nice. A tip if you want a staged meal i.e. starter, main and then desert , order separately using the QR code system, otherwise you will find everything comes together. If we lived in Glasgow we would visit again being suitably impressed and perhaps would be more adventurous in our choice off the menu . We would recommend this venue to others.
Went with my work, was fast, food was great and service was awesome.
Lots of variety over the different menus.
Really quick service.
I was overall dissatisfied with my visit. The cocktails we ordered( iced tea and a gin one) we’re just awful. After which we stuck to beers. Ordered shandy twice both times was given regular beer, I told the staff once but couldn’t be bothered the second time. The cutlery on the table was dirty( quickly replaced once we told the staff) the food from Chang was underwhelming. The truffle fries from Romano was nice.
Good atmosphere and good food. Both ordered from the halloumi menu and would definitely recommend
Visited prior to an event at the Armadillo. Both ordered from different menus, food arrived altogether. Smallish portions, but that is stated on the menu. Food was very tasty (even despite my post-covid tastebuds) and service was speedy and friendly. Highly recommended and will definitely go back.
Lovely place with great staff and a wide variety of food to suit all tastes. Will definitely be back for another visit.
Problems with the online menu ordering app exacerbated by poor customer service and a very noisy background.
I understand these things can happen but over reliance on technology and compromising on customer service is not a good balance.
App failed. One waitress was working her heart out though
We had to wait an hour and 10 min before we even got our first drink !! They told us the system was down So they weren’t receiving orders but never walked round the tables and manually took the so everyone round abut us were waiting over 2 hours before they even got there first drink !! Our food took an hour and 45 min to come, staff barely apologised or even offered us water or anything was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had and I will never be back.
Our food did not arrive even though we ordered and paid for it. We had to pester staff to even get anyone to tell us what is happening. Staff were rude and didn’t seem to care that we’d waited over an hour and no one came to let us know what was going on. Noise level was horrendous because another table treated the place like a nightclub and staff didn’t have the guts to speak for everyone else in the room and tell them to whiten down so that others can enjoy their evening. Overall a really awful experience.
Whilst the food was tasty, we were disappointed by the portion size and did not fel it offered value for money. Disappointed we were told we had 7 minutes to vacate our table having just finished our meal leaving no time for our stomachs to settle
Didn't get seated until 20 minutes after our booked time, despite turning up 5 minutes early. Drinks took over 15 mins to arrive at the table, even after place had quietened down.
Considering the main USP of the place is for concert goers at the SEC campus, who will be on a set time they don't seem to manage to get food or drink out particularly quickly, which then means you have to rush everything and don't enjoy it as much as you probably would have.
Very slick operation. We had booked a table for 6:15pm ahead of the Genesis concert and at 6:15pm we were shown to our table. Food is ordered by scanning a QR code on the table to access the menu. There are multiple kitchens serving different food, eg Italian, Chinese, Thai etc. The menus are dynamic depending on demand so for example when we were ordering the Italian menu had disappeared temporarily while the kitchen caught up with the pizza orders and then reappeared a bit later. We ordered Thai which, with the exception of the chicken satay which was a bit dry, was excellent. We will definitely book again next time we are attending a concert.
Ate at Cranside Kitchen with 4 others prior to a concert at the SSE Hydro. It was a bit hectic at the entrance as staff struggled to admit people who had booked so it took a few minutes of standing in the rain before we got in. Once inside & seated we worked out (it wasn’t explained) that drinks and food had to be ordered and paid for on an app via a QR code on the table. With that problem solved and our orders submitted service was fairly swift. The food itself was OK & while not exceptional but it filled the remit of feeding us prior to the gig.
I’d use Cranside again though mainly for its convenient location to the Hydro rather than the quality of its food.
If you are going to the Cranside take note. Everything is ordered from you phone via a QR code. You order your drinks separately, then you order your starters, then you order your main. On no stop your bank then puts a stop on your card and send you a text, because they think it being fraudulently used. Once that is clear you can continue. There are 6 different choices of menu. So we wanted the Italian one but because it was so busy they shut it down before we could use it. The server stated it would be back up in 10 mins, however 45 mins later it still wasn't up and as we were going to a concert we had to order from the Greek and Chinese menus. The food arrived initially quite quickly, however my wife's who is a vegetarian was another 15 minutes. An inedible burger, with no fries, which arrived cold 10 mins later. The Manger then came and spoke to us, a very nice French chap who was very apologetic and offered us free drinks. However as we had arrived at 17.45hrs and this was now 19.30hrs we declined his offer as previously stated we had a concert to go to. He then stated that he would refund our meal (We are still waiting). Not a great experience. If you advertise menus then they should be available on the night to everyone not just a few. Poor poor service.
Went for dinner prior to a concert at the Hydro so there appeared to be a limited menu and it was crazybusy. Staff handled it well and service was quick. We still found something to eat (pork gyros & pulled pork poutine), the loaded halloumi fries were a bit disappointing, though. The drinks menu was also very limited, possibly due to the event on at the Hydro, only a couple of draft beers available. All in all, decent 'Street food' and the pizzas at the other tables looked lovely.
However - The requirement to order via phone using the QR code was OK for us but daunting for other diners with older phones, and the requirement for this to order should be made VERY clear or provision given to those who may not be able to order via their phones. We ended up offering my phone to a couple at the next table so they could order for themselves (otherwise they'd have gone hungry!)
Location was ideal for gig attendance, food was decent enough, and service was fairly quick once the tech issues were sorted.
