Crispin at Studio Voltaire is a 50-cover modern European restaurant and counter bar located in leading gallery and arts organisation Studio Voltaire.

The kitchen, lead by Michael Miles, delivers classic and seasonal menus showcasing the best produce of the British Isles from small-scale and independent producers. Expect modern takes on European and British classics, fresh pastas, charcoal-grilled meat and fish, seasonal vegetables, and comforting desserts.

Alongside an array of sustainable tap wines each season’s wine list will bring a focus to 4 different winemakers, celebrating their individual stories. The wine programme will also include wine tastings and winemaker dinners.

Simply superb! We were looked after amazingly by Hector and the rest of the team, and had a delicious meal. The originality of the dishes was exceptional and all worked so well together.

Delicious lunch at Crispins yesterday with my goddaughter. A fabulous find via Time Out. Fresh tasting small plates nicely made cavatelli. Lovely staff.

A lovely little find away from busy Clapham High Street and average eateries. It's an exhibition space with a sparsely, but elegantly decorated restaurant. The 'ethos' is for sharing plates, so rather than choosing mains, we opted for a number of snacks and one each of the small plates instead, giving us a more rounded and flavoursome feast. We were treated to the dishes reflecting the last of the summer, so light and refreshing plates of fried baby green peppers with mint and lemon, stracciatella cheese with nectarine and fermented chilli etc, and other similar plates. There were only two servers, whilst service was a tad slow (but not overly), it was attentive when received. Overall, a delight and worth a repeat visit!

Every dish was delicious. The stand out was the chicken parm, and the samller plates of croquettes and the lamb dish and the nectarine stracciatella. Interesting cocktails on offer, I had the blackcurrent negroni which was a great twist on a classic. The waitress was really helpful and welcoming and the set up was really atmospheric with all the candles and wooden chairs.

Really great dishes & menu choices with reasonable pricing. However, the service was very slow, friendly but slow! and there was no on tap beer at the bar or resturant section (apparently the filter had broken) but there was no bottled beer either, as a backup! rookie mistake that hopefully can be learned from. Overall, really liked the food and its a lovely venue.

We really enjoyed our dinner here last night with friends. The atmosphere was on point. Relaxed but buzzy. Staff really friendly and attentive. We were advised to share plates but in honestly you would only get a bit each of each dish so perhaps best to stick to a more traditional way of ordering with a starter then main with a side of you are hungry. Food was tasty overall though.

The entire staff team were warm, professional and welcoming. The food was outstanding; plates looked very simple and yet taste was surprisingly joyful and flavoursome. I loved the pasta dish and croquettes, choice of bread and quality of butter are also notable. The service felt personal and front of house staff have excellent knowlegde about food, actively making recommendations. Love the low key cool music. Love the wine but wish the measurements were more generous for the price.

Second visit and this time was even better. There were 4 of us so shared the peppers and croquettes, tomato tatin, lamb kofte and straciatella, half chicken and pasta dish. Chicken was absolutely delicious. As were the smaller plates. Quality, fresh and in season ingredients, and flavours. Great advice and recommendation on the wine. The candle light and pared back interior is really atmospheric. Lovely evening, thank you. Highly recommend.

Very understaffed front of house meant that our table wasn’t looked after. The staff they did have seemed quite inexperienced. The food was also mainly a miss - the tomato tart tartin we had being downright weird. Disappointed as their other sites were far better
