Huge lineup to order lunch and it took forever for girl at counter to do orders (she must be new).
That was the toughest Steak I have ever had. Usually the steak is edible but this was so tough my knife could hardly cut it. I am now sorry I recommended it to my friend - did not make a good first time impression.
All round an excellent experience with great food & a good range of tap beers. only down side to the experience was that the air cond in the dining was blasting with most people in there visibly cold from it. Might be an idea to back off the AC fan speed during the main dining times.
Will go back!
Thank you the service was outstanding. Our order was a bit late but the service and food made up for this
Central location for a catch up lunch with old work buddies. Quality meals at an acceptable price with only moderate background noise so we could talk
I booked a table for Fri 9/3/for 4. I formerly worked in city and had used the Cri to entertain high end clients. Despite booking, service time was slow and somewhat unfriendly. The meals did not all come out at the same time, which was awkward. Once received, the meals were simply palatable. The noise of the venue was not conducive to a meeting/catch up, so we will be looking elsewhere. I understand it is a hotel environment, but many clients look to experience Australian hotel culture.
I coordinate lunch for a small group of retired workmates about 4 times a year. The Criterion suits our needs in that it is central, not too noisy, and provides good reasonably priced food and drink.
We are a group of retired professional. The Criterion meets all our lunchtime needs. We tend to get together 4 or 5 time a year
The food and choices available are very good and the servings very generous. Service was a little slow but it was very busy being lunchtime.
Meals are fantastic and cooked to perfection!!!
Criterion again served well prepared and very well priced lunches. Service is efficient and friendly and the location is hard to beat for CBD folk.
Bar specials mean you can (if you choose) sample a different bevvy without breaking the bank.
Made a reservation online only to be told there was no reservation when arriving. Luckily there was one table left to cater for us. Food took a while to arrive and one of our drinks didn't turn up. Very noisy and hard to have conversation with others at table.
The food was very good, the atmosphere was ideal. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only negative was the length of time to order and receive food. Our party booked 1 hour for lunch. It took 1 hr 20 min to finish. There was only 1 person taking orders and though the queue wasn't massive the process was quite time consuming. It would be good if there could be two people or some method to streamline the ordering process. I didn't look into pre-ordering but will next time. Overall- BRILLIANT!
Great lunching as always
I would have to say the staff were awesome and friendly and the food was brilliant and value for money!!!
My husband and I were in Brisbane for the weekend to go to the horse races. We decided to have dinner at the Criterion on Friday evening as it was close to our hotel. The atmosphere was great with a DJ and excellent music and the staff were efficient and very friendly. We really enjoyed the meals and will return next time we are in Brisbane overnight.
Great for a $12 lunch early in the week to avoid the crowds later in the week!
Always good food and service at the Cri
Always enjoy the cri
The lunch special which was 200g steak was excellent, a nice surprise from most pub steaks on special. Probably the best steak under $15 I've ever had.
Friendly staff that always make you feel welcomed. Service is always of quality standard and this is still provided in very busy times.
