Not impressed with the food - as I found something in my food which obviously wasn't supposed to be in it. Told a waitress who just apologised- waited over 35 mins for our pudding. Will not be returning.
Excellent food - battered chicken burger delicious!!
I have not visited for some time, the makeover has transformed The Crown and Horns in all areas. Most importantly, the food and service was excellent.
Fisherman’s ploughman’s was fab though the prawns were spicier than expected. Mushroom and halloumi burger was delicious. Chips were top notch! Service was a bit slow but definitely worth waiting for.
came for a leaving lunch for a member of staff, food reasonable value , service friendly.
We had a very pleasant business lunch, good service and good value.
Really nice garden area and great choice of food, will definitely come back
Lovely traditional English pub - standard menu served well. Very friendly service, bent over backwards to accommodate us.
Thanks so much for the lovely review. It was a pleasure meeting you both
Good outside courtyard, varied menu choice from light to man
We had the hummus starter to share, the hummus came out with half a pitta bread for £4.95. We sent the starter back as we couldn’t eat it as there was to much salt in there! My partners veggie burger was good but my chicken burger was below average with very dry chicken. The waitress just couldn’t be bothered to be there so it made the whole experience poor. We used to eat there often but we have now decided to go elsewhere in the future. It’s a real shame as the landlord has spent a fortune since lockdown and the staff just can’t be bothered it seems. Maybe we just had a bad night? Or the chef was “off”? Who knows.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner to celebrate Father’s Day. The roast was delicious as were the other choices we enjoyed. Friendly service, warm and comfy seating area.
I enjoyed a Father's Day lunch at the Crown and Horns. Welcome was excellent and they took trouble to understand our dietary requirements on the day. Delicious food and I was pleasantly surprised by the bill when it came. Thanks to all for looking after us so well on the day.
Great service, so unusual to find a pub that is handling covid measures an NOT spoiling the whole experience Definitely reccomend it
Really nice place for food and drinks. Great atmosphere and friendly staff
Visiting on a very hot day we were first shown to a table without any umbrella to provide shade from the blazing sun but were quickly relocated when we asked to be moved. Food was excellent but portions too large for us. Enjoyed the ambience until the football commentary was switched on - sorry football not our game - but greatly enjoyed by the other customers. Great staff who were coping extremely well with a busy shift and high temperatures. Will go back.
Visited on a Sunday lunch time. BBQ menu in celebration of the Euro football match England v Croatia. The food from the BBQ was very good, especially the hallumi and veg skewers and good value for money. I had visited just 2 days previously and had food from the main menu which was equally as good. Staff were attentive and food was freshly cooked and served without delay. Good layout of tables to ensure social distancing.
Delicious food and a lovely pub - service was friendly, a little slow due to table service only at the moment, but we’ve been often enough to know that is a temporary blip. We’ll be back!
A really enjoyable lunch. The service was good. The only downside was the music but they were happy to turn it down for us. Will use again.
The food was great, it would have been better if the steak meal and the salad hadn’t been brought out so much earlier than my sons burger meal. I was I tied and then decided to eat my meal before it got cold, finishing it completely before my sons burger meal arrived (also before the offer of sauces and the side orders were brought). The was a sincere apology (unprompted ) for the delay in my sons meal. So I didn’t take it any further. We stayed for dessert as well. I am sure this was just a teething problem having only just opened post covid. (But still warrants saying for honesty).
We arrived first on May bank holiday Monday. Lovely venue, never been before but we had a gluten intolerance and a dairy intolerance on our table. We asked for a plain burger, didn't get it. Then get it taken away to then be charged for it. One of our party didn't even eat but still got charged. Poor really. We couldn't have made our dietary requirements any clearer and they were not busy when we ordered/entered due to being early. The portion for the shared seafood platter, although v tasty.. very small to share amongst 2. Three pieces of roll... What's the point... Need 4 Half's at the least.
Have enjoyed better meals at The Crown and Horn - but it was late lunchtime on Sunday so some of our parties meals were good and others dissapointing. A bit noisy to start with and a very long wait for any starters /food. Lets hope next time improves as we have definately had better meals and service there before.
I cant think of anything to day but hope this is more than 50 letters
Good service, but noisy as it was Friday night. Some food was good, but lasagna was quite dry and lacking taste
Lovely dining experience thank you.
Josh was a really great server.
Very welcoming and Covid safe. We were place under cover with a heater which was very comfortable. The staff were cheerful and very helpful. Food was delicious, with plenty to choose from. Will definitely return.
Lovely pub and with a lovely outside covered seating area. Including heaters on. Staff were attentive and welcoming and food was delicious. Highly recommend you pay them a visit
Very pleasant atmosphere, excellent food very attentive staff , service was a little bit slow, but overall really enjoyable.
We booked for Sunday lunch, food was excellent, service great.
Well done to all at Crown & Horns, can't wait for our next visit
Had a very nice Sunday lunch here. Staff were very accommodating especially when we needed a seat for my elderly mother (we were on benches outside). Food was excellent and not too pricy. Will definitely be coming again.
Outside dining only at moment but have eaten here inside many times before. Have made the outside dining quite pleasant even in Winter/spring weather, but can be cold if not seated at a table that is not under a heater. Popular place so best to book, although kitchen is open at times outside peak hours so I have never been turned away disappointed. Friendly welcoming pub/hotel, recommended.
A lovely local pub with great atmosphere and excellent food. The landlords make every effort to make everyone feel welcome and have become an integral part of the village. During lockdown they even opened a village shop which has become an invaluable local resource. I highly recommend the Crown and Horns
Lovely relaxed atmosphere and great food and service
Superb food and very welcoming staff. Highly recommended.
Food was really nice, waiter was attentive, great outdoor space with really good spacing. Just a tad cold... but that's not their fault!! would recommend! this was my second visit since they have opened.
Nice meal, service quite slow but it was a busy day
Good service, food and friendly. Would go back again.
Lovely pub with a happy friendly team serving great food. We will certainly be back
Music outside was a bit irritating but otherwise everything was lovely.
Just so lovely to be out in a lovely pub, delicious food and great service. Thank you sooo much
Fantastic experience. Wonderful staff and a lovely atmosphere
