Wow. This is the best place I’ve been to for a very long time. Lovely warm welcome, delicious food and drinks, beautiful live music and looked after so well by the lovely team. I can’t wait to bring my husband here for his birthday. All the food was outstanding but I can’t stop thinking about the charcoal cheese. I will be back soon. Thanks all.
Had a lovely lunch on the small outdoor terrace. The lunch menu was exceptional value for money, chill squid followed by a mushroom and truffle burger with sweet potato chips salad was just £11.95.
There was a full sharing plates menu available also which I’ll be back to try. Service was friendly as needed. Will be back.
This restaurant clearly takes a lot of pride in sourcing top-quality ingredients, but on our visit this was, unfortunately, somewhat undercut by a lack of precision in the kitchen.
Miso Salmon arrived with burnt skin and a large amount of sashimi-raw flesh; rare-breed beef sliders were overcooked and served on what appeared to be mini bread rolls from a supermarket variety pack (M the pine nuts with the mozzarella didn't seem to have been roasted; grilled whole tiger prawns were also overcooked, with an underpowered garlic oil overwhelmed by raw slices of red chilli that would have been better incorporated into the cooking process rather than added as garnish, and I remain unconvinced that orange is an appropriate accompaniment to either lamb or salmon, but that's a personal preference.
The food that was good was very good - artichoke, spinach & parmesan dip was warming and delicious (though could have used some more bread with it), the sea bream was excellent (a perfectly-cooked piece of fish that made one question how the salmon was actually allowed to leave the kitchen), and the Cafe Patron Banoffee dessert was exquisite.
This place has a great vision and ethos, with friendly and attentive staff and a relaxed atmosphere, but it currently shows a lack of consistency in the kitchen that made the overall experience feel like a home-cooked meal, and sadly not in the best way. This IS a new establishment, though, and there's nothing here that can't be fixed - fingers crossed.

Had dinner in the basement cocktail bar area, very cosy and charming. Food was very good with some interesting cheeses.
Wine menu was fairly priced and service pleasant.
