I don’t often write reviews but this place was outstanding in every way. The food and drink were fantastic and the staff warm without being too intrusive. Highly recommended.
Hi Laura, what a review! I feel like we should close up and leave on a high. Thank you for taking the time to share with us, we are blushing.
We ate on a Friday night, with a group of 6 friends. 2 of our party were 30 minutes late, but the staff were excellent about it. We had the tasting menu, which was wide and varied. Not every course was a hit with everyone, but nobody was disappointed. Fantastic cheese board and a chocolate truffle was the perfect finish. The staff didnt rush us out, and we actually stayed for a nightcap rather than going on somewhere else. Was exactly what we were looking for.
Thank you so much for the review! So glad you enjoyed it and it is always a pleasure to serve people who just relax and have a good time - makes it easy for us. Hope to see you all again some other time.
Lovely place, we had a really pretty table in an alcove full of fairy lights.
We had a leisurely evening of great food, cocktails and service.
Thank you for the review, the team will love it. Hope to see you again!
Had Valentine's dinner here last week - was awesome. Highly recommend the miso salmon and the steak, but overall everything tasted great. Coupled with fantastic service, would highly recommend this restaurant.
Thanks Ben, that's the kind of review we love! Thank You and hope to see you soon!
We enjoyed the organic emphasis of the food and felt the tasting menu was considered. The prescription cocktails were delightful. Very relaxed atmosphere and the service was attentive and polite. Definitely recommend.
Thank you for your review and good to hear you enjoyed the prescription cocktails. Hope to see you again soon!
Great tasting food & imaginative cocktail drinks!
Thanks for the 5 stars! Hope to see you again soon!
Lovely dining room and quietly buzzy atmosphere. The food was delicious - although they really were served, and then eaten, on small plates with the chips balanced precariously in a teacup. Wine was good and we managed to just make it in time for the end of happy hour so were able to enjoy a bottle of prosecco for £20! Great evening, will definitely be back.
Great to read you enjoyed you visit, our delicious food and that you made it into happy hour! Look forward to seeing you again and thanks for sharing your experience.
This is now may favourite restaurant in Charlotte street!
Came here for friends birthday, they all loved it too
Thanks for your review and hope to see you all again soon.
Lovely food and a really relaxed atmosphere. Great to be in a restaurant where it never felt rushed.
HI Lola, thank you for sharing your experience with us and we couldn't agree more on the being rushed part! Hope to see you again soon.
Lots to choose from the menu. Food was very good and the staffs were friendly and attentive.
Very good food! That's what we like to hear! Thanks for taking time to do a review and hope to see you again.
Great find, loved the tasting menu. Would come back.
Thanks Smelly Jack Russell, glad you enjoyed the tasting menu and hope to see you again!
Such a great restaurant, the food are a bunch of small plates that are meant to be shared, and it creates a great atmosphere! The service was great, our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Would recommend!!!
Great quality, great tasting food and great staff in a setting which is relaxed and intimate.
Tapas are all very good - service is superb and environment is super nice. Would definitely recommend it!
Excellent service at this cosy tapas restaurant. Plenty of tasty choices in the menu, will definitely return.
Wide ranging menu which meant everyone found something to eat. Dessert was a disappointment. We appreciated the ability to sit and chat before and after our meal.
My friend was celebrating her birthday and we were made to feel special from the moment we arrived. The waiter brought over a lovely dessert topped off with a birthday candle for us both to share.
The goat curry was amazing!
This was definitely our type of restaurant, all the feel of a small local neighbourhood place in an unlikely location. Food was excellent and reasonably priced, staff were pleasant and interesting to talk to and the overall ambience was casual but comfortable. This place is a world away from the chain restaurants and more aloof places that litter the Western - so if like me you want good food at reasonable prices in a genuinely welcoming and intimate venue then I would definitely recommend Cutting Room.
Second time for lunch and as good as the first. This time on the lower ground floor as the ground floor was being refurbed. The surroundings are relaxed and cosy, but with only a few other diners there, it's hard to tell what it would be like if full. The service is outstanding - really relaxed but completely on point. They are all friendly, knowledgeable and generally helpful. Food was delicious from the artichoke dip through to the honeycomb truffles and everything in between, including the cocktails. My only concern is that both times I've been, there haven't been many other diners - which is a crime. Will definitely return.
Carefully prepared food and a short but good wine list make for a great value for money. Vinho verde was excellent, so were the lamb croquettes and the mushroom sliders. Also good to support a restaurant with a sustainable sourcing policy.
A little restaurant with amazing food. It’s great place to have meal and catch up with friends. Whilst the waitress probably not by herself but others are great. We’ve tried the tasting menu, food quality is brilliant. Definitely will go back.
Another lovely meal here. The sliders are always a winner! And the winelist is really good value for the area - try the South African red. Delicious.
My friend and I enjoyed the 8 course tasting menu on a weekday evening last week. For £35 it was excellent value and the food was very varied. Our favourite was the cheese course - 4 interesting cheeses (and excellent portion sizes!). We enjoyed the happy hour and ordered 2 French 75s which were delicious. Great service from the team there too. A hidden gem in Fitzrovia - a refreshing change from the overly stylised, identikit restaurants with velvet banquettes and tiny portions. We'll be back!
The food was excellent, would definitely go again.
Our host Michael was helpful and described everything perfectly.
Relatively new place which opened in February 2019.
I was attracted by all the few but excellent reviews, so we went for a late dinner.
There were not many people, which is a shame because the place is absolutely a treat. Service is good and the Taster menu, at 35£, is definitely worth giving it a go!
WOW!!! What a great find.
Went as a group of 6 for our quarterly catch up. We all had the 8 course taster menu which was fantastic, my favourite was the spinach -)
Wow. This is the best place I’ve been to for a very long time. Lovely warm welcome, delicious food and drinks, beautiful live music and looked after so well by the lovely team. I can’t wait to bring my husband here for his birthday. All the food was outstanding but I can’t stop thinking about the charcoal cheese. I will be back soon. Thanks all.
Had a lovely lunch on the small outdoor terrace. The lunch menu was exceptional value for money, chill squid followed by a mushroom and truffle burger with sweet potato chips salad was just £11.95.
There was a full sharing plates menu available also which I’ll be back to try. Service was friendly as needed. Will be back.
This restaurant clearly takes a lot of pride in sourcing top-quality ingredients, but on our visit this was, unfortunately, somewhat undercut by a lack of precision in the kitchen.
Miso Salmon arrived with burnt skin and a large amount of sashimi-raw flesh; rare-breed beef sliders were overcooked and served on what appeared to be mini bread rolls from a supermarket variety pack (M the pine nuts with the mozzarella didn't seem to have been roasted; grilled whole tiger prawns were also overcooked, with an underpowered garlic oil overwhelmed by raw slices of red chilli that would have been better incorporated into the cooking process rather than added as garnish, and I remain unconvinced that orange is an appropriate accompaniment to either lamb or salmon, but that's a personal preference.
The food that was good was very good - artichoke, spinach & parmesan dip was warming and delicious (though could have used some more bread with it), the sea bream was excellent (a perfectly-cooked piece of fish that made one question how the salmon was actually allowed to leave the kitchen), and the Cafe Patron Banoffee dessert was exquisite.
This place has a great vision and ethos, with friendly and attentive staff and a relaxed atmosphere, but it currently shows a lack of consistency in the kitchen that made the overall experience feel like a home-cooked meal, and sadly not in the best way. This IS a new establishment, though, and there's nothing here that can't be fixed - fingers crossed.
First Time at Cutting Room
Tried the artichoke Dip, Lamb croquette and the cheese board, top quality !!
Service was really good and Friendly
Thanks you, hope to see you again soon,
Really good lunch great atmosphere!
Octopus salad and chicken wings are my fav!
Glad to hear you enjoyed your visit!
Had dinner in the basement cocktail bar area, very cosy and charming. Food was very good with some interesting cheeses.
Wine menu was fairly priced and service pleasant.
Thanks for the review!
Lovely place with friendly staff. The food was delicious. Artichoke and Spinach dip was the unexpected winner! Will be back!
Many thanks, hope to see you again.
