What was supposed to be a booking for a birthday dinner turned into an absolute shambles.
The restaurant didn’t reserve our booking. We were not the only group that had this problem.
This was an hour and a half left in the evening before ALL restaurants had to close, and there was a complete lack of ownership of the problem by the restaurant, none of the staff wanted to take any responsibility and in actual fact they accused us of not having a booking until I showed it to them. At this point they seemingly washed their hands of us and left us waiting outside in the cold, ignored for over half an hour with no information as to when we could expect a table, or made any effort to address the problem. We were given promises from different staff that they would let us know what was happening before disappearing never to return. There were other confused customers who had made reservations left standing around waiting for their tables.
With an hour left before the end of the evening there was a mad scramble as I had to run door to door in Charlotte street for any restaurants that were still open, before a lovely host at The Ninth made an exception for us and accommodated us with less than an hour before they were due to close. Evening rescued. The group of four gentlemen that also had their booking ignored were not so fortunate.
If it was left to Da Paolo our evening would have been ruined.
Da Paolo is simply awesome - the service is warm and friendly but professional and the food and wine are just always top notch - Carlos continues to astound
Great food and great portions
This was a lovely resturant for a pre theatre meal. We were seated near the door which was a bit crafty when anyone came in,but the waiter and waitress were very attentive in pulling the large curtain across the door way to try and stop the draft and keep us warm. The food and wine was excellent, large portions! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Food was not anything extraordinary for the price. I’ve had better food at restaurants charging half of the price that Da Paolo charged. I will not return.

Portions are large, the food is delicious and the service excellent.

Although the food, ambiance and service was fine, the portions were very large. Some would consider that a strange observation but quality over quantity always prevails.
We liked it so much that we ate there 3 times during our 6 day visit to London.

Da Paolo is amazing. I am Italian, so quite picky when it comes to Italian restaurants, but the ravioli with mushrooms and truffle that I got were just perfect. Everyone at dinner was satisfied and very full after the meal. Quality and quantity, like a good Italian restaurant. I’ll definitely go back.
Lovely food and service. The layout is a bit too pack in the main room for my liking. I think we’d have enjoyed it more in the smaller dinning room. We would still return though as food was proper lush!

Our first time eating at Da Paolo. We had a lovely meal. A very good selection of dishes and wines. Portions were very generous, so much so that, had we known we could have shared starters. The restaurant was quite crammed and busy - a testament to the restaurant. We will be back.
Have been coming here for many years but evening was a disaster as one of our party was told that we weren’t at the restaurant although she showed my name on her phone& I made the booking. She waited upstairs for half an hour then left her business card in case we arrived. We were downstairs & she was told it was a private party which was rubbish as there were several different tables of diners We were not given her card & didn’t know she had been till I spoke to her next day. Absolutely awful. Food ok but clearly will never go back Would like an explanation

If anyone arrives at the front door indicating that there is group waiting somewhere inside, that person is always allowed to walk the whole restaurant until they find their party group. We never say "No, Your Party is not here, wrong restaurant or stay outside and wait". Da Paolo is my favourite restaurant for a reason - everything is unbelievably good there, the food, the ambiance, service, wine selection - just an insanely great place

Sólo voy a italianos que prepararán pasta fuera de este mundo (ya que a mi me sale espectacular, modestia a parte). @dapaolorestaurant cumplió a cabalidad. Con una burrata al pesto, pan al ajo con receta secreta de como lo ahumaron, unos fideos de tinta de calamar con choritos, q no tienen madre ni padre. Para cerrar, el supremo tiramisú. 4.7/5

Service was slow. Food was luke warm and unremarkable. The space is small and crammed. Overall, not bad but nothing to “write home about.”
Outstanding service! Amazing food. I am vegan and they made a special pasta dish for me which was Amazing!!! My partner and I were treated exceptionally well. It was a fantastic experience we will definitely be back. Highly recommend. Thank you so much
