Thanks De Vinci it was a birthday celebration we booked in advance turned up for the meal and you were shut!!!
Fantastic service on a quiet Sunday evening. Excellent food and wine in a great setting. We look forward to Da Vinci's re-opening after their January break so that we can return.
Dined Thursday evening 6th Jan 2002. A very warm welcome and lovely ambience with quiet Italian music in the background. The service was faultless and the food delicious. A very pleasant evening.
All round very nice place to go!
Went there for the first time with my girlfriend who is picky with her food (where I am the complete opposite), and there is something for everyone on the menu!
Lovely food, and very friendly staff!
First of all this is the first time I have ever written a bad review for anywhere and I’m 50. Our meal was NYE so we expected a wait obviously covid can make things slower due to staffing etc Our Meal was booked for 9, we arrived at 9, we were seated at 9.10. At 9.35 25 minutes later ( after we requested twice) we were asked if we wanted a drink! We were hungry so at 9.50 We asked for bread, we got olives, the waiter kept passing by and pouring the wine splashing it to the top of the glass so basically if you blinked your glass was full and the wine spilt on table! it was obvious they were rushing people out! we were then asked by the waiter to make our order as the kitchen was closing! The meal my husband wanted was not available. We hurriedly ordered and was told not to worry it would be fine. Meal arrived about 10.20 mine was dry and shrivelled and stuck to the plate ( obviously been kept warm) Husbands was cold and inedible, the bowl of vegetables were 2 pieces of onions and a bit of aubergine ( the table next to us an hour earlier had a lovely bowl full) we were given 2 bowls of sautéed potatoes which was the only thing that tasted nice. There was one older guy rushing round possibly the owner who I felt sorry for as it was so obvious the restaurant was not able to provide the service or food needed for NYE. As we were sitting down the decorations were being taken down around us! And I mean armpits and crutches in our faces, we were told they were being given to the children, great but take them down from another area! Disgusting attitude from one waiter in particular. We complained and got one meal taken off the bill. It was a rushed and horrid experience that we had been looking forward to as had heard good reviews. We were staying in sandbanks especially for the new year holiday and this meal experience completely spoilt our NYE. if your kitchen closes at 10pm don’t open New Years Eve or only offer one early seating time to avoid this fiasco.
Great food and atmosphere. The staff are always attentive and the food is of a high standard.
Terrible service, we had booked table for 8.00 sat down and just drinks arrived after chasing 6 times at 8.45 food order was missing vegetables and they never arrived. Second round of drinks turned up after we paid bill and were leaving !! Complained about the service and were told the problem was they were busy and trying to please everyone. Also we were told food was worse at other Italian restaurants!!! We weren’t alone in experience many others had similar issues whilst we were there.
No acknowledgement of the issues place obviously overbooked and totally disorganised .
Avoid unless you can afford to waste an evening
We had a table reservation on NYE for 4 adults and 4 children we had chosen this restaurant because the website suggested the 'full menu' was available for our meal. However upon presentation of the 'set menu' we realised this was not the case and the selections were very limited and expensive especially for the children!!
We waited ages to place our drinks order and then when they arrived one drink was missing....we ask 3 times before it finally came by which time we were ready to order another drink!! We then waited again before our food order was taken, when the starters arrived the scallops were missing but despite asking twice it came out after we had all finished!! The exact same thing happened with the main courses with my wife's food coming after the rest of us had again finished and even then only after I had to leave the table to find a waiter!! We decided not to stay for dessert but when the bill came we had to ask for it to be amended because we had been charged twice for certain things and the explanation was it was because we had ask for things twice with different waiters......but this was because the order wasn't coming to the table when it was expected, like the olives being served with the main course!!! Sorry but never again!!

Following recommendations from friends, my partner and I decided to visit for NYE/birthday meal.
Having arrived and ordered our starters and mains it took 1 hour and 20 mins to receive our food.
However, they went to serve our mains first. Having reminded them that they hadn't served our starters, they were quick to rectify this, but when they served us the 2nd time they were the wrong starters !
At this point we were very frustrated and disappointed, and felt the food didn't warrant the price. Understandably its a very busy night and I'm assuming Covid-19 may have played part to the slow and disappointing service, on the other hand some staff members weren't as helpful, and were blunt and had poor communication skills with us.
After a while of arguing our service, they did reduce our bill price, although we still do not feel as if the food was worth the visit and price, as well as witnessing and hearing other customers complaints and dissatisfaction.
Very disappointed as it was our first visit, unlikely to visit again.
What a wonderful evening we had on New Year's Eve and thank the staff at Da Vinci for making it so special for our family with two young children in tow. The food was amazing, the staff terrific and a great ambiance.
Thank you again!
Wonderful food and super service as always. We love eating at this restaurant, it's always a good experience.
Wonderful food & great service as always. Always a lovely meal at Da Vinci’s, would thoroughly recommend.
Food was lovely and hot and the service really good. Would thoroughly recommend
Not the best meal we have had. Sourdough cheese on toast was no different to homemade cheese on toast! Very disappointing. Vegetables and chips with main meal did not look fresh. We won’t be rushing back and felt due to the above it was overpriced for what we received. A shame as we have always enjoyed our meals here previously.
Delicious food in a friendly restaurant. The waiters are attentive but give you the space and time you need to enjoy your meal. Always made to feel welcome at Da Vinci’s. Children love eating here too.
Great food , lovely atmosphere, excellent service
Good service. Food not great. Undercooked Calamari and sloppy greasy pasta.
Waiter wearing a baseball cap, not very professional.
Won’t be returning
All the staff were very welcoming and recommended some lovely food. So glad we found this beautiful place, it was perfect xx
Friendly welcome, helpful service, nice decor and great food!
Good food but service was terrible. Not one to go back despite the food.
Pricey, which when you have good food and service it's not a problem, but annoying when you receive such bad service.
Located on Poole Quay, this is a nice place to eat for casual dining. The food portions were good sized and served at reasonable intervals. The restaurant was busy, but not overcrowded so there was a nice buzz, but not too busy to impair the level of service
Great bustling Italian atmosphere for Saturday night it felt like every table was busy … just like the good old days. The staff are friendly, attentive and skilled. The food is great, tasty and well presented … and the gin, cocktail and wine choices are as many as tye dishes. We had a great evening for four old friends.
I thought the food was ok could have been hotter.the beef bourginionwas lovely apparently ..the none pasta dishes portions were quite small for the costs. The restaurant decor itself was great.the waiters were attentive
Everything was perfect. The food was amazing, the service was spectacular and the venue is beautiful. I will be back
First time dining at Da Vinci’s and we will be back. They had a vegan menu that was interesting and delicious, including pizza & fresh pasta. We had a vegan choc brownie with cream cream too. Would recommend, they had a real authentic Italian vibe.
Lovely little Italian gem! food exceptional, staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go again. One of our favourite Italian restaurants.
Great atmosphere on a monday night
Good food but very expensive for what you get. £7:95 for a minuscule dessert. Service charge added automatically.
Excellent experience on Sunday November 14,2021. Great food. Very attentive and informative waiters. Good wine. Excellent location on the water. Highly recommended!
nice buzz great food and staff.i would definately go back if im ever in poole again
Excellent food and service.
Absolutely loved it. Fresh, delicious and authentic Italian food. Cute little restaurant with good service and somewhere I'll think about until my next visit!
I would highly recommend this restaurant very friendly staff great food
Great good at reasonable prices. Service excellent with attention to detail. Cristian was an excellent host,
A little belt little Italian with fresh prepared food meaning we could personalise to our own personal tastes. A little on the expensive side but definitely worth it.
Great meal at this ever welcoming restaurant in Poole
Very busy little place....Great service..lovely food
Lovely table upstairs
Food was fantastic
However never a fan of adding automatic tip. We were only a family of 4
I can’t comment on the food and the restaurant itself looked nice but it had obviously been overbooked for bonfire night and the staff seemed incredibly disorganised and after having to try and get someone’s attention to first of all seat us at the table we’d booked, we were then ignored for another 15 minutes with the tables next to us having been there way longer then us and not even been able to order a drink yet. It just seemed very chaotic with most customers being ignored which is a shame as I’d been looking forward to eating there. We ended up leaving before ordering.
Good food, great ambience, super service and charasmatic serving staff. A very relaxed and easy dining experience. So good, we ate there two nights running!
