Permanently Closed - Dal Mare

Such a great meal on all accords. Our server Janice was very knowledgeable + attentive amid all the current chaos with covid. The duck spring rolls were out of this world, a center cut of haddock was a nice addition to the holiday theme decor. The own stopped by to check on everything and made sure we were pleased. Can’t wait to go back to this local gem.

Absolutely fantastic experience! My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. Our server Kyle was awesome very attentive. I had the ribeye which was cooked to perfection, the sides were some of the best I’ve ever had! My wife had the lobster salad which did not skimp on lobster, and was incredibly flavorful! To top the night off we were given a complimentary Creme brûlée to celebrate our anniversary! They take covid very seriously and is a wonderful place to eat during these uncertain times. We are from Utah but when we visit Massachusetts this is a new necessary stop!

The food was great and the great atmosphere was amazing very cute and romantic. However, our waiter took our order and was never seen from again. One of the other staff members brought the food and said that the server we were assigned to had an accident of some sort. We did get our food and it was very good but our table was never assigned to another server so we kind of just sat there with no one following up to see if she needed anything drinks etc. I ended up having to flag a person down for a take out container for my left overs and eventually got a dessert but was kind of left on our own. I am surprised that the manager didn't assign another server to our table. So that was a little disappointing but other than the waiter issue the place was great and I would go again for dinner. I love the area it was really cute.

Excellent experience, food was great, we had the lamb and a fillet. Both were cooked exactly as requested. Started with Barnstable oysters which were also excellent.

Unfortunately we had a poor set of meals. It was not a typical experience at the restaurant. It was poor to the point you have to ask if they have a new ownership of a new chef. Drinks were small bit expensive. Very disappointed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 30th anniversary. The food was amazing. Our server. Kyle, was attentive without being invasive, and warm. Highly recommend this beverly gem!

We had a lovely evening!! The oysters were delicious , the lamb chops were cooked perfectly, and the scallops and duck entrée was creative and yummy!! The brownie sundae was the perfect finish to a wonderful meal. The service was outstanding ,from the hostess to the general manager. A big shout out to our waiter, Kyle, he was attendee to our every need! We already made a resy for next week!! Dal Mare is now our favorite North Shore restaurant.

We were happy with our 1st visit. The soup was a bit bland except for bacon. Chop salad avg. The bone in rib-eye pretty good. Split stuff for us that was nice.

We have been to Dal Mare twice over the past couple of months for dinner. The atmosphere, food, and drink are amazing. My only complaint was that on our last visit (the last week in September) the air conditioning was blasting and it was freezing cold. Otherwise, everything was great!

We went to Dal Mare for our anniversary. We had a crab cake appetizer followed by ribeye steaks. The steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked medium rare. We had creme brûlée for dessert which was also excellent. The service was just as it should be.

What a wonderful dinner. Mask and separation and we never would have noticed. Kyle, our server, was pleasant and efficient. We completely enjoyed our experience. Ny strip and salmon were the choices and they were excellent. Thanks Kyle! See you soon!

My husband and I love coming to Dal Mare. Marla always makes us feel so welcome, like its an extension of our home. Jennifer is a sweetheart and took great care of us as our server. The food is always fabulous. I had my favorite, the Potato Crusted Salmon. My husband had the Steak and Shrimp special.
On a Covid note, every precaution was taken which made for a relaxing dining experience. We had a table outside, and felt completely at ease.

Fantastic evening. It has become one of our primary choices for a wonderful date night.

Attentive staff, friendly and aware of needs. Food was plentiful and tasty. Be sure to add in sides which were a bit expensive but worth the extra flavor. Parking is on street.

Dal Mare offered a number of specials that evening. My spaghetti with mushrooms was very tasty - it was a special. Our server had an incredible memory of all the specials and she was very attentive. We had a great time. Wish there had been more customers in that night, for the owners sake.

Great dinner - both drinks and food came out quickly and were spot on. Salmon was particularly good - very nice atmosphere & Robert the host was very professional and helpful...very nice, stress free dining experience.

We enjoyed our food very much and the service was exceptional. However, we are not 'locals' ,so to speak, so in order to want to come back to dine, Dal Mare would have to take steps to ensure a more appropriate dining environment for a weekend night.

On Friday and Saturday nights, you might consider requiring guests at bar to be seated. While we were dining, your bar guests were spilling over to near our table which was not a high-top.

We would definitely return to have a bite to eat sitting at bar during a weekday but would not return to sit at a table on a weekend.

On other hand, if you are making money serving primarily to 'locals', I would not change anything.

Really great location and beautiful decor. Food is always excellent, especially the seafood. Service is also always excellent. Great cocktails and wine. Great for date night and special occasions.

Excellent food....appetizers and wine list A+....entrees excellent as well. Great and varied menu. Only issue was that it was slow took about 45-50 min for food to come out...but overall would definitely go back!

We arrived a half hour before our reservation so that we could have a drink at the bar. The bartenders were personable and we were waited on the minute we sat down. Our table was ready on time and we were seated promptly on a very busy Saturday night. Our server, Meg, was excellent. We both ordered the scallop risotto and we were so happy we did, it was outstanding! Try the chocolate lava cake - so good!

Worst service I have ever had in my entire life. The server we had told us a completely different set of specials and dessert than the server at the table next to us. We had to ask to put our food order in over an hour after we sat because our server didn’t even come to our table. They hung up our jackets for us with a completely different ticket than they gave us. The food was very good besides the dessert that we had which was supposed to be a plain cheesecake with a raspberry sauce and when it came out it was a strawberry cheesecake and was sour.

We had a lovely valentines dinner at del mare. Food was great waitress great a lovely place for dinner .

It’s rare that you go to a previously owned restaurant that was really good, and it’s even better. Our food was amazing! Staff was very good. I live down the road and am ashamed that I haven’t given it a try since Jim sold it. Great job guys. Also, great touch with the rose and chocolate for my valentine of 32 years.

Food was good for 3 of us , not great for 1 other in our party. Waitress took off bill and offered a free dessert which was nice. Not enough staff for a Saturday night, we waited a half hour to get first drink

A lovely setting. The food was underwhelming. And overpriced, compared to other similar Cape Ann restaurants. The soup was not hot. Nothing for vegetarians. Regret to say we were disappointed

We celebrated a birthday here and it was absolutely perfect! Great wine list and a very creative menu, even for someone like me with Celiac’s disease. We’ll be back!

Had dinner with friends at a local spot. Shared a charcuterie plate and salmon appetizer before indulging in main course. We all picked specials for the evening, gnocchi, lobster ravioli, and a stuffed pork chop. Had a very nice white wine to complement the meal. No complaints at all!

Birthday dinner was perfect ! Love this place ... the ambiance , the service , the the food , and how sweet that they comped our dessert for our birthday celebration! We will definitely be back 👍
