Daley's on Yates
Dress Code at Yates is smart casual. While jeans and shorts are acceptable, tank tops, ripped clothing and similarly ultra casual clothing is not permitted.
A former taxi garage, the space has been transformed into a fresh new concept restaurant and bar. Exposed rafters and I-beams give way to mid-century modern dining furniture, fixtures and design elements. Nestled between two elm trees, guests can get cozy on large sectional sofas conveniently positioned around four gas fire pits. A covered, full service outdoor bar offers specialty cocktails along with a diverse wine list and a respectable selection of beers. Daley's On Yates was designed with our guests in mind; we want you to come in, get comfortable and enjoy a unique hospitality experience.
Pot Roast was very salty. First time having it. Other food was good
Very enjoyable evening. We had the pot roast and the shrimp and clam pasta dish. Both excellent. Will return in summer to dine alfresco.
The service was excellent. We had reservations and got right in. Our waiter was quick but not rushing us. There was no waiting for our appetizers or main course or desserts. All timed perfect and it was a busy Saturday night.
Food was very good, but the service was not what I’ve come to expect from an establishment run by Old Daley Inn. We had a nice dinner, but it could’ve been anywhere. Sat at the bar while we waited for our table, for which we had a reservation. The table was ready before anyone tried to take our order at the bar. Diner service was fine, but nothing special.
Nice atmosphere. In the summer you can hang out on the patio and they open the garage doors. Nice dining area. Food was great and they give you a lot of it. Nice staff
In town for a show at Proctors. From out of state - NJ. We had the special fish - Halibut, fingerling potatoes, asparagus, lemon caper sauce. Lots of capers which was delightful. Halibut cooked to perfection - absolutely delicious. Well done Chef. Priced just a wee bit high however the quality deemed this price acceptable for us. Not in Schenectady often however when in town next, will happily go to Daley's again - want to try the French Onion Soup w/braised short rib (inside the soup I think) - sounds wonderful. Our waiter David was polite, professional, and friendly - very glad we took him up on the fish special suggestion and would take his recommendation again. Thank you!
We have been here several times and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun night out, in a very interesting building and atmosphere. Service is phenominal!! I can't say enough good things about our server Tiffany!! Sue at the bar makes wonderful drinks and be sure to order the pot roast if it is your first time dining at this establishment. It is the BEST!! You will definitely want to keep going back.
Drinks were pricey. We had salads and appetizers - margarita pizza and chicken skewers. Pizza crust reminding us of frozen pizza crust and chicken skewers were topped with a spicy sauce but only tasted heat, no flavor.
The food was mediocre and took 45 min to get entrees after the appetizers and no apology from the waitress
We've had dinner at Daley's on Yates 8 or 9 times in the past and service has always been an issue. We had a group of 6 and the service was not good. Our appetizers arrived before our dinner order was taken. A glass of wine ordered never show up. Water glasses were not filled. Our dessert order was incorrect. The coffee machine was not working and when 3 cappuccino's were ordered only 2 got to the table. We like this place but it's becoming difficult to bring friends there. I still would recommend Daley's to friends because of the ambiance of the restaurant and we like the menu. Hopefully things improve.
Our first experience here last summer was AMAZING! After tonight's experience I am not sure I would go back. Service was amazing but the food quality wasn't there. All the steaks were tuff and not cooked properly which is disappointing for the $40 cost.
We were celebrating a 60th wedding anniversary. All the staff were extremely attentive and professional. We felt like we had their full attention.
First time there on Valentine’s Day and it was outstanding. Food and service was what we’d expected from reviews. Can’t wait to go back!
First of all I cannot believe a restaurant of this caliber only has garlic butter according to our server. Neither the menu or our server mentioned the meal came with veggies so the bell peppers that we are allergic to necessitated a return to the kitchen. Also never asked what sauce we wanted for our beef or steak. Food was ok but on the expensive side. Also it’s pretty noisy. A C+ experience
The service was extremely slow. We waited forever for our main dish to come out. We didn’t get any update on why it took so long
We were these on Valentine's Day and it seemed that the prices had been raised for that night. Overall the food quality was very good and we enjoyed the ambiance and would go back again. They have an outside patio that looks fun to try out in the summer too.
The food was fabulous. The wine our waiter suggested was perfect. I'd love to visit again when it's warmer to see what they do with the patio area. I had the lamb and the cauliflower ragout was perfect with it. It was so nice to have something other than potatoes offered as a side.
Great everything says it all !!! Best food and service we have had in a very long time.
For $30 entrees, I will say entree #1 had no flavor (wild shrimp + clam oreganata), entree #2 was very salty (pan seared scallops). Dessert was good and appetizers were good.
Always great! Lamb was delicious... we ate at the bar.... service was excellent !
After a great experience prior, we took visiting family only to leave embarrassed after a sub-par meal. Adding insult to injury is the fact that it's been over 2wks since our visit and the owner continues to put us off and not answer our concerns. They are as follows: under-cooked chicken (!!), unwillingness to cook burgers to requested "doneness"(?!), lame dish received after recommendation frm waiter, inexperienced waiter who did not handle the situation well after concerns were politely brought to his attention.
Excellent dinners, staff, overall a great evening.
A very enjoyable experience overall. Excellent food options and willing to make substitutions. Great service and pleasant atmosphere. Noise level better then average so we could hear each other! Will recommend to friends.
The bar staff were so friendly and gave great customer service!!!
Loved it. Great food and service was fantastic. Will be back.
The drinks were phenomenal! Tiffany our waitress was an absolute sweetheart! My burger was incredible but my husbands filet was the toughest thing to eat. Maybe it was just the cut but everything else was great!
The food was phenomenal and the service was excellent.
Amazing evening as always. Would definitely recommend. It a great place.
Appetizers were great (calamari and bruschetta) but entrees (pot roast and salmon) overrated and over priced. We were celebrating a birthday and dessert was on the house - thank goodness as I would have been disappointed if we paid for it. Service was very respectable. Guest having diabetes melt down and waiter quickly addressed with discretion. Much appreciated.
The dinner and wine were enjoyable. It was a great start to our evening prior to attending the Shen Yun presentation.
Both the food and the service were very good. I had the "famous" pot roast. It was very tasty and there was an ample amount of meat and gravy. However, it was pot roast, not exactly gourmet food. The numerous fireplaces were appreciated due to the cold weather. The specialty cocktails were also a hit with my family.
Thank you for dining with us and for taking the time to provide candid feedback. The Pot Roast is one of the more popular "comfort" food selections. We are very proud of our service team, atmosphere and growing family of guests at Daley's On Yates. Rest assured, based on extended weather forecasting, our fireplace and fire pits will be blazing for quite some time ;0)
Everything was absolutely delicious!
Thank you for the 5 stars
As always, Daley on Yates was fantastic! Love it there
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
The restaurant is really trendy, the drinks were tasty, and the staff was attentive. Unfortunately the entrees were way way overseasoned to the point of inedibility. The manager was understanding and took care of the bill it didn’t sting as bad.
As usual, Daley’s was spot on with service and quality. Great place for a special birthday group dinner.
We’ve been to Daley’s three times. Excellent, basic food. Efficient service with the ownership joining staff in showing interest in the customers. The place feels spacious but the tables feel secluded. My favorite place, all around, in Schenectady.
Great service and interesting choices on the menu.
Wonderful evening feeling ‘attended to’ with great food in a nice setting. We will be back.
Great spot for dinner. Nice variety on the menu, with interesting variations and a range of choices that should fit any need or appetite. Our dishes were outstanding; the grilled octopus and potatoes salad was excellent, and the potato salad was as good as the octopus. My pork chop was also very good. The wine list is good; nice range of pricing and varietals, but not overwhelming. The setting is nice; modern lines mixed with some rustic textures, with lots of open space; overall impression is quality without fussiness. Top notch service as well. Definitely recommended!
Our server was rude to my friends. I was not pleased as I had recommended eating at your restaurant. He seemed to be in a hurry and not attentive. I have had great past experiences at Daley’s. For the delicious, great value food we ate, ambience we would expect a respectful & friendly waiter. At the end of our dinner, Eli assisted who was attentive & friendly. But, our waiter. We were not impressed.
