Wonderful food. The egg hopper and chicken biryani is a must!!
Really disappointing all round. We had to wait an hour and a half for food and then the fish curry consisted of tinned tuna (it was still in the cylindrical shape from the tin). The bottle of wine we ordered appeared to be a reused bottle as the label was dirty, it was not opened in front of us, was not full, and tasted nothing like the wine we ordered. So disappointing as we had just returned from a trip to Sri Lanka and really missed good Sri Lankan food
Extremely tasty rustic food!
Awful experience, avoid at all costs!
We booked a table but the owner barely let us in as he said they were closed. After waiting almost an hour for our meal we received microwaved (!!!) and really poor quality food. The service is slow and the food is awful, would never recommend to anyone and can’t even understand how the place can even be open.
Booked for 1pm on a Thursday and when I got there the bloody place was closed. Went to the Lebanese down the road which was good
We were pleased to find this recently opened Sri Lankan restaurant in the heart of London and near to Buckingham Palace. The food was very authentic and tasty.
The service attentive and new management keen to help and learn from their clientele. It was excellent value. I wish the new owner success in his new restaurant.
As a British Sri Lankan with a penchant for food from the "homeland", I made the trip out to Central London specifically to eat here. There was only the Sunday buffet option that afternoon. It wasn't a magnificent banquet, but there was an ample selection of curries etc. and plenty of it. The food wasn't the tastiest Sri Lankan fare I've sampled (eclectic as it, the food at Hoppers probably tastes nicer), but the food here is more authentic. The owner, who was there, is extremely genial and hospitable, and looked after us personally. It's just a slightly drab experience. The restaurant, itself, needs a face-lift. There seemed to old newspapers littering the entrance to the kitchen, so not creating a very professional or attractive image. There's lots of very sleek and modern restaurants in Sri Lanka, especially in Colombo, serving top notch food, so these guys should up their game too. I am a bit bemused why this place is just so mediocre, given its prestigious location (Queen's neighbour) and around the corner from the Goring etc. Would I go out specially to eat out here in the future? Probably not, but would equally drop-by to try their a la carte on a weekday, if I am passing that way, and there was no invitation from Buckingham Palace!
Great Sri Lankan Food, nice host, good beer, a perfect place for a Sri Lankan Dinner
