Booked a table online, when we arrived, we were told to wait 45mins to an hour as they were busy. No table had been reserved, me and my family had travelled 30mins at arrive and then had to find alternative place to eat. The alternative restaurant did keep our reserved table for us to enjoy. Darbar lost out

Dear Rahul, our sincere apologies regarding your booking. I have investigated and it looks like you first booked your table around 6.45pm for 7.30 when table was available, but then ten minutes before arrival time at 7.20pm you changed it or 8.00pm. As we were busy it is sometime not possible for staff to constantly monitor bookings. There was also no phone number associated with your booking to call back and inquire if you were running late after 7.30pm.

This is truly a special restaurant - expect delicate flavours and a of lightness of touch that you won’t find anywhere else locally. I can highly recommend the goat rogan. The service is both friendly and faultless. Go and see for yourself!

The food at Darbar is very good - much better than the average. Staff very pleasant and attentive. Our only real compliant was that it was quite rushed - we felt we were on a production line, main course came immediately after the starter, not breathing space so we were in and put quite quickly which wasn't what we wanted.

Our first time at Darbar, we booked after looking at reviews. On arrival we were greeted really nicely and shown to our table upstairs. We ordered a bottle of wine and asked for a jug of water. The wine arrived and we tasted it, was lovely and we were given 3 glasses for the water which the waiter filled, we asked if we could have a jug on the table but he said no. We ordered our food and was grateful for the recommendations for my friend who wanted a hot prawn curry. My sister and myself had the chicken biryani which was like none we have had before but delicious. The starters were the star, we had poppadums' with the selection of chutneys and the onion and spinach bajhis. I cannot fault the food but I do feel the service lacked a little and really cannot understand why we could not have had the jug of water on the table to top ourselves up!
