Loved the food venison burger is fabulous. Beef burger was a bit bland an dry . Rest of the food was was wonderful great evening
great as usual. Drinks in The Legbar first, followed by supper in The Trough. Always good food and great service.
We find that Daylesford never fails to please. We just love knowing that every dish is freshly made with absolutely the best ingredients possible and with almost no e numbers and additives, thank you.
Good food and service. Nice surroundings. Good for lunch or dinner.
Just lovely! Great atmosphere, diligent staff and fab food - what more could you ask for?!
Delicious food in fab surroundings, great service too!
Fantastic food and great friendly service. Definitely recommend.
We have eaten at Daylesford many times over the years.
We were very disappointed on this occasion.
Service was adequate, but the food was less than satisfactory.
A side dish had to returned because it was cold and the “crispy” Parmesan biscuits were not crispy.
10 minutes after ordering we were told that there were no potatoes, would chips be ok, instead of wedges. How is it possible that the (very friendly) waitress was not told this before we ordered. Blade steak was grizzly and tough. Altogether very disappointing given the price and despite getting the pudding for free.
Great location, great ambiance, super music vibe, outstanding service, unfortunately the meal was very poor quality, and almost inedible.
Stylish relaxed atmosphere, friendly attentive staff, interesting menu. A little bit too much background groove etc music coming from the Legbar, but we could talk across the table. Would revisit.
Love Daylesford: The Legbar and The Trough are wonderful.
We drove 200 km to come back this time. Compared to last time there were no other clients at all.
So not an energetic ambiance.
The food was fair.
We have been visiting Daylesford for many years but lapsed recently. Glad we went back because the additions to the building are both beautiful and add more choice for dining. After a long period of exceptional service, we remain a disappointed at the service on a Saturday evening; it is less convivial than it used to be. However, the staff are professional and polite and the quite nature of the restaurant on Saturday evenings makes it a perfect location for intimate dinners - a place to fully enjoy the quality of the food and the company of people close to you. The menu is a good balance of familiar with challenging, so it depends upon one's mood, not the restaurants limitations, as to the type of food to be consumed. The ambience, considering all the changes that have been implemented, remains exceptional - comfortable, beautiful, inspiring and relaxed.
Made reservation at 845p. Was rushed through ordering and dinner and made to feel like we were holding them up from going home! My message to them: don’t take 845p reservations if you can’t deliver a dining experience at that time. Also, weird dj and music in the background. Don’t try too hard to attract Londoner’s. Not even current music. It’s still the country.
I really love this whole place. A beautiful shop selling all the produce from the farm and local suppliers. A great restaurant inside a converted barn. And a really great terrace bar and outdoor seating. The bar area could have been somewhere on a beach in Ibiza and people would be there all summer dropping 1000s. The build quality is high level and design is really pleasant. It was so good for dinner we came back the next day to look around and scrapped our lunch plans and stayed there. Really lovely complex. A disappointing pasta and cheesecake dropped a food star but I would still go back.
The Trough & The Legbar are fabulous. We are there at least once a week for cocktails, glass of wine and something to eat. Food is wonderful, freshly cooked, organic and perfect ! Team are excellent and with the new Legbar, DJ's on Friday & Saturday nights, its the place to be in The Cotswolds !
A very relaxed and enjoyable evening, we chose this venue due to DJ being there would add to ambiance, extremely comfortable surroundings lovely sharing plates and the added bonus of car charging as I had forgotten to plug in before leaving home. look forward to our next visit here. Lovely staff very helpful with booking amendment.
Lovely meal, lovely place, I can’t wait to come back.
Another cool evening at The Legbar / Trough. Food was great, place was buzzing and the tunes were super cool. We had a banging night, thanks Daylesford.
As usual, Daylesford is so stunning. Food always a delight and the whole vibe of The Legbar and The Trough makes for something so very special. Friday and Saturday nights with a DJ just adds to the fun. The Daylesford team are great, very attentive and ‘on message’. We LOVE Daylesford.
This revamped venue has lots of potential to be a fabulous night out in the Cotswolds...great organic food served by a great team with music and ambience to match...loved it x
Menu with few dishes to choose.
Spicy food in general.
The meringue cake we had was hard and sticky, not recommended
Daylesford organic farm is absolutely stunning. Beautiful setting and the shop is wonderful, filled with delicious (if expensive) fresh and organic produce. We went to the the Trough Organic Restaurant for dinner and unfortunately the food simply wasn't up to scratch. the Lamb shoulder was decent, but slightly dry and lacked flavour - the sides of veggies were delicious though, benefit of being on a farm! The rib-eye was overcooked, requested medium rare but received close to well done. The fish was decent, cooked perfectly but poorly seasoned. The stewed veg that it sat on was delicious however, if also a bit under seasoned. The chocolate nemesis dessert was to die for - highly recommend! The blueberry cheesecake was ok, as was the meringue with cream and fruit.
While there were nice bits to the meal and the service was exemplary, unfortunately the food was not up to scratch, especially given how expensive the meal was. Hope they improve the food because, the ambience and the feel of the place is incredible!
Sun was out so we ate in the Courtyard, by The Legar. Food was excellent, as always and there was a good buzzy vibe, with the place full and the sun shining.
Wonderful ambiance, great attentive staff, excellent drink choice all let down by cooking quality of food, small portions and high cost.
I ate here twice whilst on holiday. I'm not sure if I just chose the wrong things from the menu, but wasn't blown away by any of the dishes I ate. The service is good, but felt the food could have been do.much better
Lovely atmosphere , dj was playing great music but at a nice level over dinner. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent !
Drinks first in The Legbar, followed by supper in The Trough - Always excellent. Love Daylesford.
A beautiful location in the Cotswolds that has a lovely ambience. The food & service were both outstanding
Great vibe in the Legbar and the staff were outstanding.
Food delicious and seasonal as expected, as were the wines.
Ambiance in the Trough could be better- we were seated near the serving area despite the restaurant not being at all full.
Delicious and original food, everything was superb and the service was great too
Background music good. I had a pitza which was excellent with a thin base. The other two diners had the slow cooked rib of beef. So tender it fell off the bone.
We visited when it was quiet but there was still a great, relaxed ambience. Very attentive, enthusiastic service. Food was lovely...quite expensive and small portions; presumably paying for the provenance of the ingredients. Great cocktail menu too!
Great night again
Drinks in Legbar first. Just fab. Then supper for 6 of us in The Trough. Just great. Always !! Never fails. And I’m here for lunch again today !
Delicious food and first class service in a beautiful setting. A prefect Friday night dinner. Thank you Daylesford team!
The restaurant area is lovely and menu looks great but the terrible delay in getting any food to the table and finding staff sadly ruined what should have been a lovely evening.
Fabulous. Great evening. Legbar is special. Food in The Trough is always excellent.
The food is excellent but the service was not good at all. We’d booked a table for dinner. Arrived, confirmed we’d booked on arrival, went to the bar for a drink and basically got forgotten about. Nobody came to take our drinks order or offered us the dining menu or came to take us to our table later on. We had to ask for absolutely everything, even for water on the table. The waiters were completely inattentive. Ours brought us the bill and then left as we were waiting to pay. We could have left too at that point. Not sure anybody would have noticed. But we decided to call someone over so we could pay. Such a shame. We’re local. We love Daylesford and eat here for brunch / lunch quite a lot. Dinner service really needs to improve. Does not match the quality of the food or the prices.
