amazing food, great atmosphere and lovely staff - really good value for money
The food and service was as good as usual. Even in quite a busy time, service is friendly and speedy.
Tried the Christmas tasting menu and it was amazing. The soup was the best I've ever tasted, the selection of starters meant I got to try so many different flavours and they were so unique and obviously well thought out. I chose the pork curry which had liver, kidney and belly meat. I'm not a fan of any of those cuts by themselves but in this curry they were so soft, succulent and the flavour was second to none. The dessert I was dubious about. The vanilla icecream was delicious and the cake tastes different to how it looks. It was perfect for ending the vast array of different flavours I'd encountered during the meal. The noise level was bustling and energetic while still being able to have a conversation. The service was efficient, friendly and staff are more than happy to talk through anything on the menu for you. The Delhi 66 (lager) is refreshing and so easy to drink. We will definitely be back.
Some of the best Indian food I have ever had - this restaurant is well worth a visit!
Thank you Will!
I was disappointed with the food overall (mixed popadoms) which seemed like supermarket crisps and seafood curry which gave me stomach ache later for 24 hours). Staff very attentive and ambience was fine.
I did wish to contact the restaurant via email to report but couldn’t find an email address. There is a phone number but prefer written communication.
Fantastic food, so impressed at how delicious it was! Not your regular “balti” Indian restaurant. Super quick service. Chatted to the owner at the end, seems like a really passionate, authentic, family run business.
A really great authentic regional indian in a cool and hip environment. Really busy and turning walk-ins away. It was my first visit and needed most of the menu explaining.....not a chicken tikka masala in sight!!!
The atmosphere is just right, energetic, without being too noisy. Although the restaraunt was packed, the service was swift. Starters, main courses, with accompaniments and drinks are around £30 per head. Fantastic!
I have not given highest marks for ambience. It is just too noisy. I love the decoration but some wall-hangings would really improve things.
I wonder about the danger to the hearing of staff as the level is so high. A decibel reading might be advisable.
We loved out first visit. Food was fabulous. Have recommended it to others already!
Fabulous as always a gem of a find love it ! Food great and service impeccable!
Fantastic meal as usual. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to try a Goan food with a twist.
The food was amazing and well presented. Staff very helpful and friendly would definitely visit again.
Great service and delicious food. We loved the idea of fusing traditional cuisine with a western twist. I wish there were more options on the menu though as we already tried everything
A fantastic restaurant with genuine personal service. Menu is pleasingly far from typical and ingredients are of the highest quality . We will be returning very soon and highly recommend others to visit.
Second time visiting De Baga and it was wonderful once again! The menu is small however all dishes are completely different and you'll have enough choice on the night. The staff are friendly and approachable. Nothing is too much for them and they are genuinely interested in your opinion on your meal; taking on board any comments that might arise throughout your meal.
The food is phenomenal - freshly cooked, with seasoning so different in each dish you can definitely differentiate between them all.
I highly recommend De Baga and believe it to be one of the best Indian cuisine restaurants in Leeds.
Very busy due to incorrect booking by large party. Took over one hour for the starters to arrive!
Great restaurant with delicious food and a great warm welcome. Highly recommended.
The food was made beautifully with different flavours, you dont always need spice to enjoy a meal. The meat was cooked to perfection. The staff were helpful and friendly.
amazing food, great vegan options. Great value and lovely atmosphere.
Excellent food and service. Mine was very tasty and not too spicy. Perfect for me. Service very good. Definitely recommend.
We had a wonderful evening at De Baga. The food and the service were outstanding. We will be back.
Must try the popcorn chaat, house curry and caramelised onion naan. Bombay IPA to drink. Amazing food, drink, service and atmosphere!
Overall very good. Although the lamb in the curry was a bit tough. Otherwise a near perfect experience. The selection of beers is brilliant. I’ll definitely be going back.
excellent meal lovely flavours excellent service and appreciated the the anniversary ice cream...the owner even explained where the name de baga originated from
certainly visit again
This is a great new (ish) place in Headingley and an absolute asset!
The food is really great and the service is lovely, warm and friendly with some excellent advice on choices.
I will definitely be back 😃
This is a really friendly restaurant and the food was excellent
Just as good as the first visit. Eating our way through the starters and snacks
Great food, nice style and decor. Not too noisy. Top service
Wonderful service and great food. All for brilliant prices as well.
Great food the staff was really friendly just as a FYI Booked online for 4pm on Sunday however they called me an hour before to say they don't open until 5pm I think the website needs updating
Delicious food that’s as appealing to the eye as the pallet. Friendly service from staff that seem to genuinely care. A good selection of dishes and drinks. The only negative I can say is one waitress would have been better suited to MacDonalds as she had a habit of clearing tables before everyone had finished and decided to noisily sweep the floor on a busy Friday night. Even so we will definitely return and recommend.
Lovely restaurant with a really interesting and tasty menu. Would highly recommend!
Top quality Goan food with a varied menu including some outstanding starters. Vegan/ Vegetarian friendly. Very popular, understandably, so booking a table is a must, even midweek. Friendly, helpful service. Parking can be a challenge as restaurant is in a very busy part of Headingley.
Delicious food and friendly attentive service. Good to see some interesting beer choices.
Read some of the reviews before booking and my experience matched them. Fantastic place, v friendly staff. Food was excellent and good sized portions. Really good value and intend to go back again for definite. Recommend you book as the whole area on a Saturday night was quite busy.
Really tasty food, friendly staff with a good knowledge of the menu, 10/10. Only room for improvement from my point of view would be a couple more vegan/veggie options on the menu.
Amazing food !!!!!
So tasty, best Indian cuisine I’ve had !!
Great menu . Good drinks selection
Fantastic staff so passionate about the food .
Loved how the cold juice was served and the plates and serving dishes were lovely too
Just a great little restaurant .
Top on our list of places to dine in Leeds !
The food was absolutely delicious. The curries we had were towards the hotter than equivalent curries we have eaten elsewhere. Service was fine, the owner was very hospitable. The big issue was that it was just too busy. We had booked our table but were still kept waiting and then it felt as though our food was rushed and the minute we had finished eating, the bill was presented. We weren’t asked if we wanted coffee/ dessert. We still had 2 3/4 full drinks and we were approached twice more trying to get us to pay as there was a queue. It’s a shame because the food was excellent and we want the business to succeed. Will put it down to teething problems but that really diminished our overall experience. Just remember that some people, like parents to young children might only get out a couple of times a year and being shooed away during one of those nights wasn’t the best. I hope the restaurant takes this on board and considers this. It might be better to turn people away to ensure that other customers do return!
The food was delicious, but the service was a bit slow and it was very loud, making it difficult to speak to my friends.
Really tasty food, lovely service, great addition to Headingley!
