Our aim is to provide the best seasonal, local produce in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Our menus are influenced by traditional and often overlooked cookery techniques, in keeping with the buildings Victorian origins. Home curing, slow cooked braises, pickles, preserves, traditional desserts and bread-making are some of our specialities. Championing small local producers is an essential part of our ethos
To add to Delahunt’s history we have built a cocktail bar on our first floor. The focal point is a striking bay window overlooking Camden Street, accompanied by vaulted ceilings, retro furniture and custom wooden paneling, original fireplaces, and a wide range of spirits and craft cocktails. The bar is walk in only.
Thank you so much for being so sweet and gracious in helping me celebrate my girlfriends' birthday. The whole thing was perfect.
Wonderful food. Excellent service
A group of nine friends celebrating a birthday had a fantastic evening at Delahunt. The food was fabulous, the service attentive, yet discreet.......... a recipe for a fun, memorable experience. Thank you Team Delahunt.
Underwhelming main course for the price (lamb) - small portion size and looked a poor option compared to some nearby diners. Service charge included on the menu should be mentioned on the bill to avoid confusion, which seems like an attempt to gain a tip on two occasions. Looked forward to this but unfortunately won’t be returning.
Great food and presentation. We were seated in the small private room at the end so noise level was low and we had a great level of privacy.
Had a very enjoyable evening at Delahunts. The food was very tasty, my partner said the Guinness is very good and he’s an expert! I had a lovely Bordeaux wine. It’s a lovely intimate restaurant, doesn’t feel busy evening when full. The little bar upstairs is so cosy as well, lovely spot to chill out with a drink after dinner.
Everything about Delahunt was excellent. I had a pig's trotter to start; it was ingenious and delicious. For main course, I ordered lamb: it was beautifully arranged on the plate, with perfectly done gnocchi. The taste combinations throughout the meal were extraordinary. We ordered a side of potatoes; I wish that I could make potatoes come out of the oven so crispy. They must have been boiled then finished in oil, though that's just a guess. The ambiance is terrific, with the late Victorian shelves, the recovered Delahunt sign, the long countertop, the lace curtains at the front. Really a terrific evening out. I'd go back in a second.
An entirely wonderful experience. From staff, through to the ambience &
food, we were charmed! Such a superb night. The value for money just an added surprise.
Thank you to the Delahunt team
Very restricted menu and small portions
Interesting wine list
A very enjoyable experience with excellent service and wine to accompany our meal..
Great experience will be back. Food great service great and wine great.
Food was lovely but the room was really cold. We were seated near the door which was drafty.
Lovely restaurant and excellent staff. Would have liked a slightly bigger choice from the menu but really enjoyed our evening
The main courses were excellent. The dessert slightly hard to eat but overall was an incredible culinary experience. For the price it cannot be beat!
Delahunt is a lovely restaurant providing a superb menu at reasonable prices. If you are booking try for table seating as high table seating is mixed with other diners.
Had lunch there last Friday. The main course of cod with mash and broccoli lacked flavour. There wasn't even enough salt included. It was a dish that I could easily have created in my own kitchen.
The one and only dessert was fine.
Excellent food and service. Lovely intimate, not stuffy, surroundings.
Lovely evening with a group of work colleagues. Great table, service and food
Will be back.
Delahunt was ultimately disappointing. The food didn't live to what I expected. The ambience was nice but all three of my courses were disappointing.
I had the best meal of my life at delahunt on Valentine’s Day. From starter to desert, everything was a touch of class! I’ve tried every restaurant in Dublin and nowhere has come close to the standard of delahunt. I was skeptical before going because of the limited/small menu but I couldn’t have been happier. I had the beef cheek to start, then shared the coute de boeuf and chocolate fondant. The white was lovely and very reasonable price. The service from both the host and server was superb - very friendly, attentive, lively and had great recommendations. Delahunt will be top of my list for all celebration dinners going forward. Would also add that the living room above it is gorgeous for a drink before hand
We were in the snug table at the window and it was fantastic. Felt like we were in our own private dining experience. Delicious food, friendly staff and great people watching. Definitely going back.
Fab food. Great service. Outstanding quality food served with a smile. One of my favourites in Dublin.
Lovely meal and love the snug. Have been before and will be back but the cep icecream is gross, I regretted ordering it but I was curious. Artichoke cake was nice though.
The restaurant was freezing cold, I did not remove my jacket and I counted 6 other women wearing their jackets this completely negatively impacted the whole experience. Service was attentive and good at beginning but as restaurant got busier the service went downhill and was rushed.
I ordered Venison which was so rare and bloody I could not eat it and gave it to my husband.
The rainbow carrots were a nice starter but not anything amazing.
It is my 4th time dining here and I'm so disappointed I won't return.
The dessert menu was not enticing ( artichoke cake? really?) so I left very disappointed.
Warm and welcoming place with respectful and polite staff. The food is nothing short of incredible and for the price exceeds expectations for both quality and taste. Honestly a must if you’re in the area or just looking for a delicious meal
Tasty food and friendly staff, could have presented that food and what it was a bit more. Lovely setting even if it was a bit noisy.
The food was delicious but service was poor. There was great urgency taking our order, we’d only finished our main meal and we were asked for our desert order. There was no time to digest our food. The waitress didn’t appear happy when we said we needed a few mins to take a breather. It felt like our table was needed again at 9.30! It was such a shame it was so rushed and all 4 of us felt the same.
Thanks from my wife and I for a great evening.
Food and service were excellent and good value (for Dublin City). I would change the seating arrangement to allow for more two table settings.
Excellent meal. Great cocktails to start. Delicious vegetarian option.
Fantastic food & great service. Will be back. Was recommended by a friend & my fellow diners were equally impressed.
Everything was amazing and the staff above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic evening.
Amazing food. Great service. Perfect ambience! All round perfect birthday celebration meal
I’m torn how to review.
Food was lovely.
Our complaint was about our server. She was not very engaging or smiley.
All other staff that served food from the kitchen were lovely, attentive and engaging.
Have eaten previously a number of times this was my worst experience to date. I felt the food was decent but no wow factor. Pork main course lacked seasoning and could have been slightly pinker too. Sticky toffee pudding was probably the highlight.
Lunch at Delahunt's was fabulous. Food was perfect. I love a short meme at lunchtime so that worked perfectly I had the cod and it was perfectly seasoned, my guest and I are still asking how did that chef manage to season the fish the entire way through? My other guest had the pork and he too enjoyed it thoroughly. A perfect place for a quick but beautifully cooked lunch. Don't think I've had such good food in a restaurant at lunchtime for a very long time. Thank you Team Delahunt.
Food was great, staff were friendly and helpful. Very relaxed atmosphere.
I thought the food was really good and very well presented, but the portion size of the main meat was too small in my opinion, I had the venison
Excellent service. Fab food presented tastefully. Good background music. We arrived early and finished our meal as the restaurant became busier. Worth a visit!
remember the building from the eighties as Jack Carville's off licence I was blown away by the high level of service from entry to exit, food was sublime ambiance was just knockout as the old building sucked you in between the mortar and the bricks of a time long past , good luck to all at Dlahunt.
