Delice & Sarrasin
Food was too salty
Food was amazing. Server was great, but misunderstood we wanted an appetizer and his opinion on the choice. We only received a fabulous entree and dessert, but so wanted the appetizer as it sounded simply delicious. Definitely will suggest to all...am amazing vegan experience.
Amazing vegan food, even croissants! Run don't walk.
This is my favorite place to celebrate. Always amazing food, and as a vegan with a soy allergy, to be able to order off of 90% of the menu and know it will be amazing is wonderful
Great food, lovely setting and always attentive service.
One of my favorite restaurants ! The menu is amazing! Classic! To start definitely the cheese plate and escargot!! On my last visit I took my gf for her bday and we actually put in a 2nd order of the escargot before our entrees came. That good!! : )
Very impressed with the restaurant.
The staff was very pleasant and the food very flavorful.
Outstanding - went to a vegan French restaurant in Paris 3 months ago. Delice & Sarrasin is way better (and we enjoyed the Paris one). Imaginatively recreated French traditional dishes, great flavours and choice, and friendly service.
We were completely blown away by the food. We highly recommend Delice & Sarrasin for anyone who loves good food, not just vegans.
Great vegan food. Service could be a little friendlier and more attentive. Service was great on our first visit earlier this year.
Overall a very good place for every occasion.
Amazing food. Will go back to try the other stuff on the menu
Two of the dishes were very salty and the wine was ordinary.
I’m not a vegan but this was great food irregardless
We got a table last minute for brunch and couldn’t have been happier with the food and the service. It was my first experience with a vegan restaurant and it was eye opening.
Traditional Parisian bistro fare made expertly, deliciously, vegan. The cheese plate is mind-blowing, as is the boeuf bourguignon, and the soupe à l’oignon gratinée. The dessert crepes were a little dry and thus not in the typical Parisian style where they’re much more engorged with chocolate. Still overall a real triumph in terms of vegan French cuisine and highly recommended. The wine list is great too.
Birthday- very nice, waiter brought out birthday cake with a candle making it very very special
This is a very small restaurant on a quiet street, with an extremely pleasant cafe-style atmosphere and truly exceptional food. The two of us had lunch there on a Monday. For a small restaurant, it offers a surprising variety of vegan versions of traditional French dishes. We ordered the Coq au Vin and the Aiguillette de Canard for entrees, and a sweet crêpe for dessert. The portions are large enough to be satisfying, but small enough to allow two diners of modest appetite to split an appetizer, each order an entree, and split a dessert. As you would expect from a French restaurant, the vegetables were cooked just right (not overcooked), the sauces were complex, and the presentation of the food (serving dishes, etc.) was appealing. The tables are close together, so it is not the best place for a private conversation unless one avoids the busiest times of day. The service from the kitchen was fast, and the waitress was polite and helpful, but she was occasionally too busy to be as attentive as we would have liked.
Unbelievably delicious food as always. Service is always outstanding. My favorite restaurant in NYC. Can’t recommend this place enough.
There’s absolutely nothing like it! Just note that the tables are very close together and the space is tiny, and not conducive to private or intimate conversation.
Everything we tried was absolutely amazing. The hardest part was not being able to take it all home! I highly recommend the baked brie and the escargot—something I never thought I'd say! Vegans and non-vegans will not be disappointed by this incredible fare. Well worth the trip to the village. It's a little tight-fitting, though! Wish there was more space.
Went with friends this past weekend (i was the only non-vegan). The food is remarkable. Truly. How can you enjoy Coq Au Vin in vegan prep? Well they have truly figured it out. This will be a regular for us for certain.
The service was brilliant, the atmosphere sweet, small, very French. The food was very good. The cheese plate was one of the best I've had, the escargot...perfect! I would wish for more vegetables, sides of Hericot Vert and escarole? I would pack the Co Co Van with veg instead of the meat substitute. The Co Co Van sauce was perfect, btw.. The buckwheat bread was delicious as was the chocolate cake and the Creme Brulee. The croissant was also perfect in texture, though I would recommend to the chef using Miyokos butter instead of the butter substitute she uses (earth balance?) I will defiantly be back!
Excellent food and service. Restaurant is VERY small and a bit noisy. I hope, with all the positive reviews, they can expand.
Fantastic! Food, service and menu options were superb. Always the best vegan food in the city!
Absolutely everything about this restaurant is unique and fantastic! A real gem! The ambience is so authentically French and at the same time very typical of a very small New York City restaurant.
The menu is 100% traditional French cuisine made entirely from plants! The owners are French and got their training in France. When they moved to the United States they decided to take all of their recipes and make them plant -based. The reviews we read prior to making a reservation were all full of praise - we were not disappointed in the least with our own experience. We will absolutely go back the next time we are in New York City!
The food was delicious and was served quickly. The price was high but totally worth it!
As a vegetarian, love the idea of French vegan food that allowed me to try all of those dishes that are typically off limits. We had the escargot (very good!), the boeuf bourguignon (great!), and the crab cake (ok). Nice wine list also.
The thing I didn’t love was that the place was tiny and packed so you get like the table next to you was listening to your conversation the entire time. It felt very cramped, even for nyc.
Would probably go back at some point because it is such a unique concept
What could've easily been phenomenal was just all right. The concept is great, original and a blessing for vegans, but it's missing fine tuning what could be fixed with some service training.
The salmon starter was wonderful and the cheeses nice, however, we never got asked if we wanted a drink. My partner had the chicken legs and the vegetables part was extremely salty making the dish inedible, which could've been fixed, however we never got checked back on. I liked the the tartare, it was spot on with flavour, but way too gluey in texture which is feedback that the chef should know, however we never got asked how things were or given the opportunity to give feedback even when plates were cleared (one quite full) or the money was taken. The waiter forgot to put our drink on the bill. When we told him we didn't get a thank you, he just walked back and added it on.
Normally we only give feedback in person but nothing was asked at any stage.
All in all we liked the experience and would possibly try it again. But with some small touch ups on service this could be the vegan hot spot in NYC.
I’ve been there numerous times for dinner and once prior for lunch and have always been pleased. On this visit however the food wasn’t up to the usual standards and I was very disappointed.
Most amazing French toast I’ve ever had. Would go there every day if I didn’t live in Harlem.
Jonathan was great and the vegan food was excellent. Our appetizers came after the entree so it was tough to enjoy them, but otherwise a fabulous experience.
Top notch. Equisite. New favorite happy place.
Always delicious! Had the cheese platter, french onion soup and coq au vin...yum
Small room with spectacular and comprehensive options. Careful and thoughtful service.
Vegan should always be this good.
Loved our experience here! Such a cute little place, and the all-vegan French menu is expansive. The food was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend!!
Amazing food! I’m vegan but even with my non vegan sister she loved it! It’s just amazing food. It doesn’t taste “vegan.” I highly recommend this place and look forward to coming back.
Delice & Sarrasin never dissapoints! We have been there 3 times now and are always wow'ed by the taste of the food - it is hard to believe it is all vegan. We have tried many vegan restaurants and this is by far the best meat alternative we have ever tried in a restaurant. The texture, tenderness and flavors are incredible! They also have amazing desserts. Highly recommend.
This was my first visit to Delice & Sarrasin, and hopefully there will be many more. The food was outstanding, especially the Brie, truffle fries, and banana crepe. The restaurant is very small and informal. The service was excellent and attentive. We chose the restaurant because it is vegan and will return because it is vegan and one of the best meals we have had.
