   Ok restaurant with decent food but with all the indian restaurants in London you have to do something to stand out.

   My party arrived at the meeting point to have a few drinks before we would cross the road to the Dil Chad at 7:15PM prompt. At 6:15PM my party totaled just the 14 in number and not the 16 i had booked. So, out of courtesy i popped across the road just to let Dil Chad know that we would be 2 less than the original booking. When i arrived i found that the Dil Chad was boarded up in the windows and was not in fact open at all. The put me in a extremely difficult position. some of the party had traveled down from up north (including my boss). it was a totally embarrassing situation. it was extremely cold that evening and it destroyed my colleagues retirement as we had to rome the streets (of which none of us are familiar with) to find an alternative restaurant. we didn't find an alternative and had to give up!

   Bit of a shame really. Booked through Open Table for 12 people at 1pm on Friday 15th Jan and received an email confirmation of booking. However, restaurant shut! I emailed them to confirm something, and received an email back from them on Saturday saying they were shut for 6 weeks for refurbishment. Obviously, this was not helpful as had to try and find somewhere else for 12 people to eat at 1pm on a Friday lunchtime and everywhere is so busy. If a restaurant is going to close for a few weeks, why can you still make a booking online and get a confirmation for it?

   The service was pushy and added items to the bill which we didn't order but were charged with - wasn't a big deal but it was a bit cheeky. The food was satisfactory and was good value.

   Food is very good and there is plenty of choice. The only negative is that there is very little time between courses and it has a feeling of rush -almost like a fast food place.

   We booked here on a 50% off food deal, which was not valid when we arrived - however after explaining our misunderstanding the restaurant honoured the deal which was very appreciated. Curry was delicious, not huge portions but I left very full.

   I was trying to find a reasonably priced restaurant near Liverpool St which had good options for vegetarians; was quiet enough for a serious chat with a good friend and on a Friday night! I didn't think I would find somewhere but this place really fit the bill. Good food in a relaxed and quiet atmosphere with attentive service. Will definitely go back.
