Dinings SW3 is from the team behind Dinings Harcourt in Marylebone and Dinings in the Norman Hotel Tel Aviv. The grade-1 listed building was originally an artist's studio. Inside, lies a sushi counter, Kurabu, and a hidden courtyard with space for up to 20; perfect for the warmer months. Our newly refurbished mezzanine area Kurabu, takes its name from the Japanese word for ‘club’. Ideal for social gatherings from day through the night, serving an exciting new menu of elevated Japanese-inspired street food alongside a brilliant drinks list. Kurabu is also the perfect space to host your private event. We specialise in an Izakaya style of cooking, combining Japanese and European cuisines to create delicious small plates. Sushi and sashimi change with the seasons. Enjoy Josper grilled lobster or Japanese Wagyu beef. Alongside our a la carte menu, we offer different tasting menus that can also be paired with wine or sake, giving you the full Dinings SW3 experience.

Food is absolutely beautiful, but service could definitely improve much more. If I’m paying that amount of money I would expect service to be up to par. Unfortunately, they weren’t as attentive as I expected them to be.

Service and attention to detail usually exemplary, but the woman at front of house clearly hadn't bothered to read and act upon the very simple requests I'd made while booking
Food excellent as always

One of the most unusual and fabulous Japanese food experiences. Portions are small, bite size morsels, but each one is expertly crafted. The care and quality truly shows. Don’t hesitate to go.

Good ambience and amazing food. The menu should reflect that the price shown is the price of one piece of sushi/sashimi. Rather expensive but it was a good experience anyway. Nice for a special ocassion.

Amazing food but quite pricey! Our server was excellent as well!

There was an Open Table discount of 25% which I booked, and was told we had a 15 minute grace period on our booking. When we got there 12 minutes late due to traffic, they told us the discount no longer applied because it ended at 7:30 (our booking time). They eventually granted us the discount after us arguing that it wasn’t stated, but be aware because it doesn’t say that is the case when you book it!

Great spot and tasty food just like the original but with a slightly different menu. It’s not cheap but nowhere in London is these days and this place makes up for it with the stylish dining room and delicious food. I’ll be back!

The ambiance was very good. However, a sushi bar trying to be innovative with very little actual food and very expensive does not make sense.

While the quality of the ingredients seems to be top knotch the preparation lacks, the taste lacks. This is not a good sushi place. You can find more skills in a corner store sushi bar. The location is beautiful and they probably aim to be like Yashin but fail. On top of this it’s extremely expensive. The miso black code which should be faultless in such place is below mediocre. Avoid.

We loved the restaurant and our server was lovely. Everything was delicious and it really was a special experience that stands out from other restaurants. It made me forget about any worries and just enjoy being out for dinner. The design and aesthetic of the restaurant is also perfect! I don’t leave many reviews, but wanted to for this one! Thank you, I’ll be back.

The bottom line: food quality, which was generally good (other than the sea bass "carpaccio" that was so soaked in ponzu it tasted like, well, ponzu with ponzu gel cubes and something that looked liked truffle slivers but tasted like nothing) doesn't match pricing level which is very expensive.

Service was attentive yet rather slow - our waiter confided that they weren't expecting a late August evening to be so busy so they were understaffed.

Jus trying too hard. Nowhere as good as the original Dinings in Marylebone. It tastes ok but small portions and very very expensive for what it is. Nice place and service not bad but you expect more for the prices asked.

One of the most expensive tasting menus in London and what came out was a completely unimpressive food experience for the price.

In terms of service - the waiters didn’t have a clue about the menu or catering for a pregnant woman. They were incredibly slow to bring anything and very inattentive (eg we would have ordered more drinks but there was just no one to ask).

It’s more hype than substance. The old Dinings is a better experience. Service was sloppy. Took me 20 minutes to get a glass of wine. My tea was served cold and too light. When I asked the waiter to bring me another pot, he argued that Hojicha should be served at 70 degrees and that he had used the right amount of tea. He said he was doing what he was told. After convincing him that Hojicha should be served at 88-95 degrees in order to extract flavour, he walked away to make me another pot but he forgot altogether. My sense is that they are understaffed for a 1 star restaurant.

I had an overall very good experience at Dinings. The service was impeccable. The staff was knowledgeable about menu items and ingredients used, and was able to advise a lactose intolerant diner in my party. Food was tasty and beautifully presented. However, I found the seafood platter of poor value. It was one small prawn, one scallop, a few pieces of squid with peas for £29! The ambiance was good but our small round table for 3 was snug! The compliment petit fours was made lactose free without us asking. Generally good experience.

Fab food, excellent service, great ambiance. We booked for 7PM on a Sunday, and there were very few tables taken, making for a quiet atmosphere of private dining. Food was well prepared, fresh and seasoned well. One of us found the Wagyu steak almost as good as the kobe beef we had in Japan! Mind that the mini-burgers, sushi and sashimi come in singles, so if you want more - order more.
We took: 2 cocktails, scallops sashimi w foie gras mousse, grilled scallops, grilled lobster, wagyu beef mini burger with foie gras mousse, wagyu steak, asparagus and steamed rice. For dessert we had a coffee and a green tea ice cream dessert - Matcha Pafe. All in all came to 220 GBP, service included.

our food is still on the table, we went on to have a chat with a friend, and was chased for bills without having the chance to finish our food. service wasn't as good as it used to be with us needing to pour our own water and food came late, i.e. over 20mins since ordered.
