Serving from the fire Menu all week and dinners Wed-Sat
The service needs to step it up. We still had food on our plates and they brought us the check and said our waiter had to help a bigger party. Then when we paid, they charge our card twice. It was very rude to not be asked if we wanted anything else - we were ready to have dessert and more wine.
We’ll probably give it another chance before we recommend it to others. The service and ambiance were great but the food was pretty awful. The eggplant parm was burnt and the pizza special was only average.
Had lunch there previously and enjoyed the food. Nice place to eat on the river but wouldn't recommend it for dinner. Our waitress gave good service to start but was inattentive throughout the balance of the evening. Our four dinners took around 45 minutes to be served after ordering. Two meals were served lukewarm and all four meals were served at three different time intervals. The management did attempt to make up the for the inconvenience by removing two meals from our bill.
Thank you so much for your feedback. We are working from a very small kitchen and we are planning an expansion in the fall. Our food is home made and takes a little longer to prepare. I am so sorry for your wait time but we hope you will give us another chance! Shawn DiPrinzio
A bit a mix up with our res and seating but we were committed to sitting along the water. Well worth the wait as usual. The food and service never disappoint.
A little slow getting our meal
I have recommended your restaurant several times to friends.
Impressive space, imaginative menu, well trained service staff— overall a great addition to the River restaurant scene
Great place, you need a reservation and it is best to book on open table. I booked one over the phone and they lost it and unfortunately was not able to dine that particular time.
It was Very nice. Good atmosphere and view.
Very nice spot on the water for upscale dinner and drinks!
We had the corner table in the window with a great view of the St. Lawrence River. Food was very good. I had the eggplant parmesan and my partner had the ravioli. Both were very good. There have a good wine selection. The atmosphere is funky.
The food was amazing. Service was very fast. I loved watching the guy doing the pizzas. I will have to come back for one!
We sat outside with a great view of the River. Marie’s service was excellent. We recommend ‘The Calumet’ as a starter cocktail. Delicious! Two of us had pizza and two had pasta dishes and there were no leftovers. Every thing tasted great. We brought home cannoli’s for dessert, we were stuffed! Every table outside was seated, we were glad we reserved a table in advance! Of course we will go again!
Everything was great — food, service & ambiemce!
The ambiance was wonderful. However, we were disappointed that no salad or even bread is served with entrees. Our calamari was so over cooked it was practically burnt. It was also a Birthday for us and there wasn’t a free cannoli, scoop of ice cream, nothing. Disappointed especially for the price.
Very unfriendly. The kitchen was Exceptionally slow Pizza was soggy and Tomato sauce from a tin can. Meatballs were barely ok. The check was surprisingly high and exceedingly high considering the poor quality of the food and service. They did not want to seat us outside at tables that remained empty the entire evening.
No sauce on spaghetti with chicken parmigiana.
Great place, great atmosphere, great food, and fantastic service. This will be a a staple when in town.
Our service and meal was excellent! And the view was breathtaking.
Made a reservation expecting to be seated outside by the river, but was told only inside seating was available by reservation. Why? We were seated at an indoor table next to the door leading outside frequently used by servers, so we moved over 2 tables to a quieter spot. We were told that we couldn’t sit there because it was reserved for someone else not there yet. What? There is no way on their website to reserve a specific table. On to the meal. We both ordered eggplant parm. The eggplant was so tough it required a vigorous knife to cut. On the other hand, the carrot cake was delicious. All in all a very disappointing experience.
The bar was a little slow but the drinks were excellent. We had a table that was wobbly but got to switch. Service was fairly good but some items had to be requested, like salt and pepper. Food was good, dessert was awesome. I would definitely go back and recommend to friends.
Tucker was attentive and amazing so definitely ask for him to be your server
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner there last Spring and returned with friends last weekend. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to make substitutions without any issues. The food was delicious. We were not rushed and enjoyed the evening and the wonderful view.
We love DePrinzio’s . Excellent menu and drinks! You need to add option for inside or outside seating.
We ate there both Saturday and Sunday. We enjoyed everything so much! We did have a few pieces of hair in the greens on Sunday though. Kitchen staff needs hair nets. We do love it there.
Nice restaurant right on the water. We made reservations, and were seated right away. However, the wait for food was a little over an hour. For couple's drinking wine, waiting on the food is no problem. For a family with two small kids, it was a bit longer than their attention span could handle. Overall, it was a good experience.
Made a reservation and order took over an hour to be served. Food was mediocre at best. Cannoli was filled at ends only, middle was empty. Waitress was very pleasant
Channel side has the same view, but staff is much friendlier and the food is way better. They set the bar very low when hiring for a more "upscale experience"
We had the spaghetti and meatballs and the cod special. The pasta was overcooked, mushy and watery. The sauce lacked the required spices to make it flavorful and was mediocre at best. The meatballs were decent but nothing special. The cod was flavorless but had good texture. We expected much more for the price. The place is all hype and no substance. We won't return.
Great food. Food was a bit slow arriving after ordering
The interior of this restaurant is very pretty and there are beautiful views of the river from the patio; however, those are the only positive things we experienced here. They were out of many foods and desserts at 8:00 pm on a Sunday, what kind of Italian restaurant runs out of Italian bread and cannoli shells? They brought one of our meals out a half hour after the other two meals and no one seemed to offer us any explanation why, I think they forgot to cook the third meal. I paid $4.00 extra to add shrimp to my fettuccine and that gave me just 3 tiny, hard, stale shrimp for that price! The fettuccine noodles were dense, cold, and stuck together in one lump. We are a pasta eating family and this was not good or authentic pasta. The pizza crust was bland and tasteless.
Excellent food at a beautiful setting. Friendly and responsive service. Really enjoyed it.
The meatballs and wings were amazing. Ordered a second order of each. Great/fun water front dining.
Diprinzio's Kitchen is a gem in the heart of Clayton, NY (1000 Islands). Wonderful ambience both indoors and outdoors. We landed a high-top on their deck, arriving @8:00 PM. The view was great and we were not rushed as we enjoyed a beautiful sunset overlooking the seaway. Our food choices were delicious! Two in our party of 4 ordered the Campanelle pasta dish...beef/pork/veal & mushroom ragu...Amazing! The kitchen was a bit slow, however we enjoyed our wine and view and didn't really mind.
Atmosphere, views, and food were all amazing! Would absolutely recommend
We had a wonderful lunch of pizza and truffle French fries. The pizza was delicious with a proper over fired crust. Two craft beers made it even better. We will absolutely go back!
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Food and service were excellent. Very friendly staff. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Grace our waitress was great!! She was on point !!
We waited 55 minutes for our food after waiting 10 to even be greeted with a reservation. When our food arrived, my husband's ravioli was cold, not warm...cold. People seated LONG after us received their food and the table next to us also had the ravioli so it was not the type of food. I had the fettuccine. It was good. When they re-made my husband's food, it was good and they took it off the bill.
The waitress was always pleasant with a great smile. The food was hot and delish. It is beautiful looking out at the water while dining.
