It is truly the perfect place for big parties (birthdays, especially). Really great beer and awesome corn bread!
Great waiter and good service. Sides, appetizers were good but steak was below average. It was recommended by the waiter and we were told it was a prime ribeye which he pushed over the porterhouse. Meat was more fat and gristle than marbled like a real prime steak. It was well seasoned and cooked as ordered. I don't blame him but someone in the kitchen let a bad steak out. I should have sent it back but I suffered through.
It was great, always is
The table location was not ideal...though it was amusing to watch the waitstaff come back and forth to log in, grab table covering, etc...
Ordinarily, I love District Chophouse; however, I had a very unusual and unfortunate experience this past Monday. A person brought a large service dog into the restaurant. Though the restaurant was fairly empty, the host seated the person right next to us. I am allergic to dogs and have asthma. When we asked to be reseated for these reasons, the host acted as though I didn’t realize it was a service dog. He did not immediately accommodate us, but after explaining my potential reaction, he only moved us two tables away. I had a terrible allergic reaction and could not stop coughing. I had to leave the restaurant early and wait outside for my guest. As I said, the restaurant was practically empty because it was just before the dinner hour. The host should have handled the situation differently. As a member of the legal profession, I did not need an explanation about service dogs. I expected to be accommodated to the same extent as the person with the dog. Totally unacceptable conduct!!
My 10 year old wanted to go to a steak house. What not a better place to take a 10 year. Great starter!
It was fabulous
Fantastic place with good food. I will be going back to try different options. Great for a date, special occasion or just a happy hour with friends
Wonderful. Jose, our server was outstanding. Food was great.
We tried District Chophouse for the first time during Restaurant Week. I highly recommend the Caprese Risotto Tots for an appetizer (although hubby’s crab bisque was yummy too). My husband had their Short Rib with horseradish whipped potatoes and seasonal veggies. I had the NY Strip with white cheddar mashed potatoes. Both were cooked to perfection, very flavorful and tender. Desserts were on the petite side, but rich, so more than sufficient. We liked everything so well, we took another couple back with us the next day! Hubby and I tried something different (well, he had the NY Strip and I had crab cakes). Both guys in our party opted for the beer pairings (one for each course for only $8!) and were pleased with the selections. We all left completely stuffed!
LOOOOOOOVED the food!!!!
We went for restaurant week and the NY Strip was a full 12 oz. The steak alone is usually $37. Restaurant week was a 3 course meal for $35 and an extra $8 for beer pairings, which ended up to be about 2 full beers. It was such good food and it was great way to check out a restaurant we haven’t been to yet.
This is one of my favorite places to dine—DC Chophouse never disappoints!! I enjoyed my restaurant week favorites!!! Highly recommended!😉
Maybe an 'off' night - lamb was overdone and tough. The appetizer and desert were very good. The beer pairings were very good. It was late and servers were busy and distracted with clean up and set up for next day. It's still a favorite and would go again.
Welcome lunch for new staff member. We were seated in a small separate room which was perfect.
This was my first time to District Chophouse while my partner has been coming for years. The service was amazing and the food was great (comparable to Capital Grill and Mastros). Even though we happen to come in during DC Restaurant Week, I still feel as though it would have still been very affordable. The skillet cornbread with honey butter was a unique touch as well. Looking forward to our next visit.
As per the line in a TV commercial, the meat was "okay." Not what you'd expect given the price and the atmosphere. Beer and service are great. The food doesn't stack up. Something's missing. Not flavorful.
The steak was excellent, but the salmon was not good. It was quite a small serving, drenched in butter, with a few overcooked string beans. The baked potato side was the size of two or three normal potatoes. Overall, an okay meal, excellent service, but would not return given better options in the area.
Great venue for pre-Capitals game dinners. The energy is good and you can hold a conversation. The wait staff are friendly, professional, and give you just the right amount of attention.
I usually order the Citrus salmon with Sautéed Spinach. This dish is consistently good and properly cooked.
Request the Buffalo Shrimp as an appetizer, it's not on the main menu but they will accommodate you. It's a nice alternative to traditional buffalo wings.
This has been my favorite restaurant for nearly 20 years, so I was very disappointed that both the beer and food were not to the standards that I have come to know and expect from this restaurant. The beer tasted like the taps were funky and the calamari appetizer, that we have ordered every time was awful! Tough and dry and not very flavorful. The Chop salad was also disappointing. Our server, Daniel, was what made our visit worthwhile. He was attentive, professional and very personable! He would be the only reason we would return.
Pre-theater meal. Outstanding service by a very experienced waiter. Food came in a nice progression. Spinach dip appetizer was big and tasty. Steaks were done just right.
Great food, excellent place, love it!!
Very upset they no longer have valet parking. Busy street near the arena. Public parking was full due to a Wizards game. District chophouse merely shrugged their shoulders. With their location, they should offer valet. Ruined the evening frankly, having to spend 20 minutes to get parking while my family waited
I brought a colleague there for lunch. We were seated quickly. We had two service providers and one was in training. The service was great, attentive and knowledgeable. My go to for a quick reasonable lunch
Outstanding as always!
The service was outstanding! Loved every bit of this experience!
Excellent service but the food was not the best
Delicious food! Can’t wait to go back. Great service also.
Four of us went on New Years Eve. We were seated right away. Two items were served incorrectly, a soup and a side dish. Both were corrected. Prime rib was not medium rare as indicated. Loud crying child behind us which I realize is not the fault of the restaurant. Overall an OK meal but not worth the price in my opinion,
It was my husband birthday and the first time for our boys. The waiter was awesome. He made food suggestions for our boys and made it a very special dinner. Love this place, they never disappoint
We have been dining here for many years. The wedge salad and salmon was excellent. My husband liked his crab soup and hamburger and my son enjoyed the chicken piccata. Great corn bread. Service was excellent.
Good food, good service. Just a darn good place to eat.
Great experience as usual. This is our go to restaurant when we are visiting DC. Excellent service and amazing appetizers and meals.
The food was good, but they messed up on my order.
We chose this restaurant on the spur of the moment while visiting DC this weekend. We were not disappointed. We had an 8 pm reservation (OpenTable), but arrived early and they seated us. The prime rib and salad were excellent and the waiter was efficient and friendly.
Food was great and awesome happy hour ! Friendly weight staff as well
Food was delicious, though placed was slammed so kitchen took a bit to get food out. Server was very knowledgeable. Spilled a drink - would have like that comped - but that wasn't offered. All were happy with their meals.
Very slow bar. Extremely slow kitchen. 15-20 mins for a beer order and over 50 mins for entrees to come out. Steak was warm and broccoli was almost cold. Server was courteous.
Outstanding service and a great meal. Highly recommend.
Must have a reservation for dinner on a game night. Service was prompt. Fast moving.busy, delicious, expensive restaurant. Our waiter kind of forgot about us towards the end of the meal. We never got our dessert. Coffee was cold, had to ask for our bill.
