Great little restaurant. The dish of the night was definitely the pork knuckle which was crispy on the outside and melt in the mouth tender inside. We would definitely come back.
Specialized on meat dishes, they serve typical Hungarian food.

Yet again, eating at Cupakos Restaurant has been a really satisfying experience!
In this restaurant the atmosphere and quality of food go hand in hand: it's not a big place, it's not a big menu -but it's a big experience!
This time the goulash and the duck breast with pea puree had been chosen.
The soup was the best goulash I had yet and within the last 12 months in Hungary.
Every bite of the duck breast expressed the chef's knowledge of getting the most out of quality ingredients: it was very tender, very tasteful and just very harmonic with the pea puree and the drippings of sauce and fats...
One minor downside might have been the impression that the service seemed a bit less attentive this time and in comparison to the times before. Though this might have been due to a full house (and terrace) and just two waiters present.
If you aim for an easy interpretation of Hungarian Cuisine and an informal, yet authentic and very tasteful place to go...this is it!

Cupakos was a wonderful find off the beaten path! Worth the walk. The food was incredibly flavorful and expertly prepared. We had the pork knuckle which was the recommendation of the the friendly staff. I’d go definitely go back
I love this place, I discovered it last year when I was in Budapest and this year I have been 3 times within 1 week and intend to go many more times.
The pork knuckle is SO good and in my opinion, is better than any you'll find even in the pork knuckle capital of the world: Munich.

City break visit. Saw this traditional Hungarian food restaurant on open table so booked it. Venue is a little disappointing at first glance but the food and the service was amazing so don’t be put off by first impressions. Was good value for money and good location with plenty of bars nearby too. Reminded me a little of Shoreditch in London.
Considerato che siamo andati per mangiare lo stinco, è stata grossa la delusione quando alle 20.20 ci hanno detto che era finito. Abbiamo preso due bistecche con le patate assolutamente nella media, ma niente che non si potrebbe preparare a casa propria. Avendo mangiato poco (porzioni un po’ scarse) abbiamo chiesto 2 porzioni dell’unico dolce nel menù, anche questo finito. Possiamo dire che l’esperienza sia stata deludente.

I liked the character of the place. The waiters are super nice. I cannot eat big portion so for me the food was more than enough and tasty.
The restaurant is superb: the choices, the quality, the service, the ambiance and atmosphere all contribute to a great experience of contemporary Hungarian cuisine. Though based on tradition and in respect of the Hungarians love of meats, the Cupakos’ crew manage to present their food in an uncomplicated and very tasty way!
The atmosphere supports this easy going approach and surely supports the idea of an uncomplicated environment. The service is friendly, attentive and helpful.
To wrap it up -a place we like to recommend and return to without any question.
