Lovely Sunday lunch, excellent value for money with the 2 course special
Lovely experience, we felt valued and looked after from walking in to going home, the restaurant was warm and cosy, nice and tasty food and plenty of choice on the menu.
Lovely meal & great value for money. The service was excellent and the restaurant is so lovely. Enjoyed our lunch.
Best Cosmopolitan I have tasted. Food was delicious and great value for the set menu. I was even given a card as it was my birthday which was a lovely touch. Also was given tasters between courses. Highly recommend.
First time we’ve visited but would definitely return. Great food, service. Sunday lunch was perfect! Nice little touch with a birthday card for my husband.
Been before and loved it. This time, as usual the service was great, friendly and welcoming. Ther were 5 of us in our party and we arrived a 6 o'clock on the 4th January. I didnt have a starter but the rest did and they said it was just OK.
Mains consisted of a variation between us all, the Turbot was suspect and was sent back. I along with 2 others had staek with chips, the steak was average but the chips must have been cooked prior to the holiday break, dry and pale.
We all felt dissapointed overall but, after a fantastic first visit in August of 2019, we will probably go back and try our luck.:-(
Michelin star worthy
The food was well cooked and very tasty.Very imaginative flavours and service was excellent. The icing on the cake was the heated coat cupboard ensuring the feel good factor lasted to the very end of our experience.
Amazing service, lovely staff. Communication about booking through email was exceptional, fast responses and very informative! Made our New Year’s Eve dinner very enjoyable.
Great evening, understated but fabulous service. Highly recommended
An enjoyable evening
Excellent service and food. Probably the best restaurant in Newcastle.
You always know you wont get a bad meal or service when you visit this restaurant. Once again, service was impeccable, atmosphere and décor lovely and cosy, and the food was top notch as usual. Had a lovely afternoon here with friends. Will be back very soon!
My first visit, me and my wife loved the place.High quality food in lovely surroundings, served by very welcoming staff.Looking forward to our next visit already.
Nice dinner - good food - great service
What else is there to say
Another very enjoyable lunch. You must try the roast beef, it is 5 star. Staff are attentive, friendly but not imposing.
Really lovely food. Very good menu choices, I could have picked two or three from each course. Food is excellent quality and so well cooked. The staff were great and the cocktails were delicious. Wish we could have stayed there all night for the drinks alone! I had a great evening and would highly recommend this venue.
Love the location, ambience, atmosphere etc. I usually absolutely love the food and the care/effort put in to it, and regularly go for a special meal there. I think with the christmas meal things are a little bit more hectic, and I felt like the main wasnt as delicious as I was hoping, but it was still really nice. The rice pudding dessert was incredible though, and the staff are always so wonderful.
Food was absolutely delicious and such a great location
This was my second visit to Dobson and Parnell and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing and fantastic service! I think it could be my favourite restaurant in Newcastle.
We will be back!
terrible when you spent 100 pounds and couldn't even hear what people says right next to you.
There was only our table and another table of 6. The waiters had no intention to let them bring the volumn down.
For the entire time of dine, the environment is louder than night club and there was only one other table! Sure the waitors have no discipline to keep the restaurant at an acceptable dine condition.
Don't go just don't go.
Fantastic food and service - we had the three course Christmas Menu. The portions were a on the small size.
The layout of the restaurant is very good and there was only one group who were a bit noisy! The starter of whipped blue cheese, walnuts and pears was delicious; my steak was slightly overcooked for me and the rice pudding was slightly undercooked! I’d go back though as I’ve had perfect meals here previously!
Excellent friendly and attentive service. Foud was excellent especially the almond rice pudding dessert.
Fantastic service and food. Thank you. Would definitely come again.
Superb as always!
One of our favourite restaurants and tonight for my birthday meal I was greeted with a lovely hand written card which was thoughtful. Food was fabulous as usual as was the service
Had another fabulous meal, great value and excellent gluten free options! Thank you
Myself and my partner go on every special occasion because we love the place we love the atmosphere the food and the staff are beyond reproach.
Dined mid-week but it was still busy with a good atmosphere. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. The food was of the highest quality and we would definitely like to visit again.
Yes, I would recommend it but not quite as warmly as comparable restaurants nearby - Blackfriars (owned by the same people I believe) or The Broad Chare. The food was good - particularly the wild duck - but portions are on the small side so that other places with similar prices are really offering better value. The service was friendly enough but not perfect (not being able to find our reservation when we arrived, promising more bread that never arrived).
I have already recommended Dobson & Parnell to everyone I know! Great atmosphere, beautiful interior tables evenly spread, staff and food exceptional. If your planning a trip to Newcastle you have to book this restaurant!
Taster menu with accompanying wine was amazing as was the service
Great food, fantastic service a little bigger portions would be nice but it is fine dining but would definitely recommend
Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Great night
The service was slow. Veggie meal from set menu was disappointing not d&p usual standard, noodles brocoli and ?soy sauce. No flavour.
Excellent food, well presented and very good value at lunchtime. The only downside is that food service was very slow and clearing tables was slow too. However, table service was good.
Great food and brilliant prices. Truly delicious!
My 4th visit. Always great food, the service is the perfect combination of attentive and relaxed
Great restaurant in the centre of Newcastle underneath the Tyne Bridge. Energetic and friendly atmosphere and good service. Varied, interesting menu of traditional British food, cooked well, with great flavours. I had the mackrel starter and an excellent sirloin steak, and fabulous chips. Finished off with good cheeseboard and perfect espresso martini. Highly recommended. We'll be going back.
