The food is beautifully cooked and presented. The staff have the perfect balance of attentiveness with friendliness. The lighting is exactly right, and it's very comfortable. Extremely good value for money. ( great wine list too)
Food was excellent. Service was great, although a bit slow at times, but we weren't in any rush so no problem. Overall a lovely night, will definitely be back soon!
Lovely meal. Not huge portions but lots of little surprises. Staff very friendly & professional. Good wine list & fairly priced.
Fantastic lunch venue, really enjoyed the Friendly, relaxed ambiance and quality of food. Would definitely recommend
I was visiting Newcastle for a couple of days and searched on google for recommendations and found this restaurant and it’s reviews were very good
It didn’t disappoint the food and service were exceptional we had a set menu with a glass of fizz and the food was amazing the sweet potato and coconut soup was exceptional and we loved the little appetisers they gave us between courses
The service was first class but friendly and relaxed just the right balance
Have already raced about this restaurant to friends and family
An enjoyable experience. We had Sunday lunch there and our table wasn't quite ready, so we were taken to the bar and looked after by friendly staff whilst we were waiting.
The food was well worth the wait as it was stunning.
Definitely a return visit required !
We visited Dobson & Parnell for my wife's birthday and what a treat. Vibrant atmosphere with fantastic food and first class service. We look forward to our return. Thanks to the tremendous staff very attentive without being obtrusive! We even got a complimentary glass of fizz, What a nice touch to a perfect evening..
The food tasted exquisite and was beautifully presented. The staff were very friendly, without being obsequious and happy to engaged in conversation about the food, in particular the making of the sourdough bread which was the best I have ever tasted.
Fantastic evening. We had the 5 course taster menus with wine pairing and added a cheese course. Food was amazing and the wine absolutely delicious!
All round a lovely day. Service good, food lovely but small with exception to the enormous desert.
Absolutely delicious food and excellent service. We will be back.
Lovely food as always. Glad they have gone back to a ‘proper’ menu rather than a collection of small plates which were always difficult to get the amount right. Far nicer the way it is now
Service excellent, wine/cocktails excellent. But the food left some to be desired, especially as you’re in the Michelin guide book. Mackerell starter was unbalanced as jalepeno was too hot and not well paired to the other dare I say bland ingredients. Also the corn fed chicken my parter ordered, was ridiculously salty, we both struggled to enjoy even a small amount. Everything else was superb none the less
Fantastic restaurant, lovely atmosphere, great staff and very good food. Prices are more than other places but the food is worth it. Only one thing that I found was that the main course wasn’t as hot as I would have liked. Will definitely return.
Absolutely fantastic from start to finish
Great food, wonderful service and fantastic venue
We came for Sunday lunch; amazing place, so relaxed, food is amazing. Staff are friendly, and attentive. Portion sizes are just right.
on our recent evening dining at Dobson and Parnell we found all aspects of service, food, and the overall ambience, friendliness of the staff to be exceptional and will be visiting again soon
35 th anniversary
Visited the restaurant with friends and we all had a lovely evening. The food was excellent and so was the service. A young man named Chris served us and he was very professional and efficient.
We will certainly recommend the restaurant to family and friends as well as returning ourselves.
First class night out and we would recommend this to any one .
We went for the 7 course tasting menu with matching wines. Both food and wines were excellent, well matched and well presented. The service was very attentive and efficient if a little impersonal and lacking warmth. But the overall experience was very enjoyable if rather expensive.
Service was perfect and the food exceptional. I would recommend this restaurant.
Nice restaurant although surprisingly quiet for Friday lunchtime. The food was really good although the portions were rather small. I think the main course, while delicious, could be beefed up a bit. My only complaint was paying £3.50 for a bottle of water when I would have been perfectly happy with tap water which was what I believed we were getting. To be fair the waiter did offer to take it off the bill. All in all a really good set lunch with delicious food and decent wine
Had a wonderful evening at Dobson and Parnell to celebrate a birthday. The food, wine and service were exceptional. Every plate of food was perfect , staff were knowledgeable and professional but made us feel so welcome. Definitely worth another vusit
An excellent meal with great service in a delightful setting. The food was particularly good.
Excellent food & service. Staff very helpful with advice about wine & help with food allergies alternatives
Food was excellent, as was the Prosecco and wine. Service speed was good, the little pre-dessert/pre starter was a lovely touch. The server could have been more attentive and interactive. But there was a large party in having the full seven course tasting menu. Would definitely go back for special occasions.
An all round superb lunch. Amazingly good food from start to finish, relaxing and sophisticated ambience and a friendly and very attentive staff member Danielle made the experience all the better, very good front of house. Incredibly good value. From start to finish, easily one of the best good value eateries in the North East.
My favourite restaurant in Newcastle. Never disappoints. Special but not pretentious.
We had the tasting menu (seven courses) and one of us had the matching wine flights. Absolutely delicious. Service excellent, but not snooty which some restaurants seem to favour.
Each course was explained with the wine and why they had been chosen. Checked in to make sure the “pace was right” (it was) and very attentive, but not obtrusive.
Excellent food and drink, matched with fantastic service. Highly recommend giving Dobson and Parnell a go.
Went for birthday meal and wasn’t disappointed food was beautiful with quick friendly service. Would definitely return.
Went there on Friday with my girlfriend at 9.40. Despite there only being about 5 others people in the restaurant, we couldn’t even order another bottle of wine during our whole main course as both the manager and waiter were deep in conversation with other customers. Just to make it worse- the manager then made a misogynist comment when my girlfriend said she would get the bill. Possibly the worst restaurant I have even been to and left completely unsatisfied and felt robbed for my money
Arrived late due to traffic and did not leave enough time to enjoy meal as much as we should. Will definitely be returning
Service is always fabulous and today no exception. The team are friendly, efficient and appropriately relaxed.
Sunday lunch menu good value and food excellent.
Lunchtime atmosphere was perfect.
Amazing find very attentive and friendly staff, gorgeous food. Will definitely be back.
We loved the food and the service. Mackerel was delicious and ox cheek as well. Enjoyed the local
We had a lovely lunch here on a Friday afternoon. Perfect set menu options and great price.
Sunday lunch was fine
Not exceptional ,just fine
A lovely calm oasis to find on a Wet Sunday afternoon- the staff were immediately warm and friendly. The menu offered great value and the food was excellent and one of the best Sunday Roasts I have had. - I clearly was not on my own as most plates went back empty !!
Whilst the restaurant was fairly full the tall ceilings meant that noise levels were really low as everyone appeared to have a great time.
Whether you are staying the weekend as I was or live in Newcastle I really would recommend Dobson and Parnell for your Sunday Roast.
