Arrived late due to traffic and did not leave enough time to enjoy meal as much as we should. Will definitely be returning
Service is always fabulous and today no exception. The team are friendly, efficient and appropriately relaxed.
Sunday lunch menu good value and food excellent.
Lunchtime atmosphere was perfect.
Amazing find very attentive and friendly staff, gorgeous food. Will definitely be back.
We loved the food and the service. Mackerel was delicious and ox cheek as well. Enjoyed the local
We had a lovely lunch here on a Friday afternoon. Perfect set menu options and great price.
Sunday lunch was fine
Not exceptional ,just fine
A lovely calm oasis to find on a Wet Sunday afternoon- the staff were immediately warm and friendly. The menu offered great value and the food was excellent and one of the best Sunday Roasts I have had. - I clearly was not on my own as most plates went back empty !!
Whilst the restaurant was fairly full the tall ceilings meant that noise levels were really low as everyone appeared to have a great time.
Whether you are staying the weekend as I was or live in Newcastle I really would recommend Dobson and Parnell for your Sunday Roast.
Excellent Sunday lunch with the best roast we have had. Staff very helpful. A little noisy but music was turned down. But if wait between courses but not an issue for leisurely lunch.
I love this place! The food is always fabulous - the flavours are subtle and distinctive, the service is great, and the overall ambience is spot on. This is one of my favourite places to eat out and it never disappoints.
Brilliant service from start to finish. They were great for a member of the party who was allergic to nuts. Would definitely recommend for business lunches.
The waiting staff were very polite and friendly and the decor is highly suited to autumn/winter as it looks very warm and inviting. It was Sunday lunch and I had borscht and roast chicken which were cooked perfectly. The Yorkshire pudding was a particular treat.
What a place! Right from the moment you enter until you leave you feel like you are the only people there. GREAT service, GREAT food, GREAT staff.
We'll be back
Delicious food - something a bit different. Loved the flavours. The portion sizes were perfect. The wine advice was spot on too and we really appreciated being offered a taste of the two wines we were trying to decide between.
I'm a big foodie so that quality of food for the price was spot on. So many good flavours and the portion sizes were perfect. Danielle even gave us a great list of bars to go out to afterwards which was a nice touch.
Literally can't think of anything bad to say!
Fantastic meal for my fiancé’s birthday. It is the first time we’ve been and we will definitely be going back. The food was delicious and the service excellent.
Very nice restaurant that I warmly recommend
Nice atmosphere and very good food
The wine list could be longer
Beautiful food, would highly recommend. Possibly a bit quiet for our rowdy 50th birthday meal but a lovely experience.
Just a fantastic place the food was amazing and the service superb
Always great service and great food. Sunday lunch menu is exceptional value. We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff kindly brought out a small treat at the end of the meal.
The staff were perfectly polite and friendly but unfortunately on this occasion they took far too long to clear away used dishes. I started stacking some to make the point which did prompt clearance. There was far too long a wait between starter and main course. Close to an hour. Never known anything like it. Food was tasty enough although I'd have liked more chimmichurri on the rump and the rump was a little on the meagre side. They didn't give me a steak knife either. One comment on dessert. The granola, pineapple thing was perfectly edible but too much like a healthy breakfast rather than an opulent indulgent dessert.
Great food, excellent service, good wine = really good night out.
We had the three course lunch special which was exceptional value for money. The good was extremely tasty and very well presented. The waiting staff were excellent and very knowledgeable. We will be returning for the tasting menu.
Lovely meal on Saturday night. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. A varied and interesting menu and every dish served to our party was very well presented and tasted delicious too. Would highly recommend.
Absolutely amazing food, service, presentation, ambience, price & the location on the river Tyne. I would definitely recommend Dobson & Parnell.
Booked for a celebratory lunch for my wife's birthday.
Great Service - Great Food - Great Drinks.
This was our first visit although we regularly visit Andy Hook's other restaurants. We were celebrating our Silver Wedding Anniversary and it did not disappoint! Attentive staff and a relaxed approach made it a very enjoyable evening. The food was delicious with an interesting menu. In a crowded market, Dobson and Parnell is sufficiently different to make it stand out.
The food was amazing, but the service was extremely slow. The first course of the three course lunch menu wasn't served until 50 minutes after we'd arrived. When we ordered dessert, we highlighted that we were in a rush to get back to the office, but they still took another 15 minutes to come even though they were all cold dishes. We also asked for the bill when we ordered dessert, but errors on the bill meant more back and forth with the staff there. Needless to say, we were rushing back to the office for our afternoon meetings. I would still recommend the restaurant, but only for an evening meal when you have more time to enjoy it.
Excellent food and service with pleasant surroundings and friendly staff
Service second to none by Annie, she was fantastic. Food exceptional
I go to this restaurant because the chef, Troy Terrington, has a real gift and the food is exceptional. It’s hard to mention one particular thing but the roast beef was meltingly tender, the ham hock to rain outstanding and the fudge with the coffee. should get an award. Highly recommended for taste and for value. Family day out for Sunday lunch and the restaurant busy, we had elderly relative in a wheelchair and staff extremely helpful .
This was our first visit to this restaurant and I had high expectations as it is in the same group as Blackfriars. Unfortunately, our experience was not great as the service was almost unbearably slow and there was very little attention paid when we tried to catch anyone's eye. We booked for Sunday lunch at 12:30 and did not manage to get away until about 3:40. Whilst the food was very nice, by the time it arrived we were so hungry and fed up of waiting that it really spoilt our enjoyment. We also ordered drinks that never came. When it came to the bill, I noticed the 10% service charge had been omitted. When I asked about this, only then did the waiter say they had been a staff member short and, hence, the service had been slow. If this had been explained at the outset, or if there had been some earlier acknowledgement that we (and others) had been waiting a long time, we might have relaxed a little. I would be willing to give the restaurant another try as I am sure it would normally be a lot better.
It was my sons 19th Birthday Sunday lunch who is a chef. They kindly gave us free prossecco on arrival but we were told that our table needed to be vacated at 2.15 for other people ! The food was average. The pork belly grey and not crispy. Probably wouldn't come back.
Really good place to take friends visiting from out of town.
Good choice for vegetarians amongst us.
You know the saying the customer is always right? Well not in this case. An offer from an email I received was not honoured. They made a mistake and then asked my partner to show the email to us, making us feel like they didn't believe us. I don't thin I'll be back, not quite the pleasant experience I was hoping for.
Superb service food was outstanding. Felt like there was no rush between courses. Staff were attentive without being overly in your face and always available if required. All the little touches like a small sample of cod roes was a great little touch. Would defiantly go back and recommend to family or friends. Just a really great around experiance that we will remember as this was our 45th wedding aniversary. The location of the restaurant was perfect in a really nice part of town. Again the the staff were superb felt like they were genuinely interested in what you had to say even though they busy.
My wife and I enjoyed a superb meal and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.
Lovely evening spent at Dobson and Parnell. Food was fantastic with a range of flavours.
Staff were fantastic, service perfect, very friendly, and accommodating.
Excellent service and food,we were even remembered us from our last visit. Nice touch with a birthday fudge !highly recommend this place
10th wedding anniversary dinner so a special night. Went perfectly, just right amount of atmosphere for us to relax and enjoy our evening, lovely service and food was great
