About

As the name suggests, the good life is to be found here, in the excellent food and service that has been delivered here for over 20 years. The interior walls are decorated with timeless black and white posters of Italy, evocative of the 1950’s Dolce Vita. The menu has been recently updated to reflect the changing eating habits we constantly encounter in today’s restaurant culture. Classic Italian vitello Milanese remains unaltered, but may now be served with fresh vegetables or salad instead of the spaghetti al pommodoro, of days gone by. Caesar salad, linguini with clams, penne puttanesca and fusilli Alfredo are just some of the dishes re-emerging on this menu. The starter menu now has the addition of a popular antipasto dish of salame, Parma ham, mortadella and pecorino cheese. The pizzas are one of the highlights on the menu, in that they are thin based and cooked perfectly, almost daring you to leave some on the plate, its just not possible.

Always a good atmosphere here. The waiting staff like to entertain the kids and the wine is always very chilled and drinkable.

Very poor experience starting when we arrived and the manager said we hadn’t booked. (Despite having my opentable booking confirmation on my phone). He was very rude and although restaurant was only approx third full he wasn’t in a rush to find us a table.
Food very average. The chicken in the pasta dish was obviously processed as it was small square chunks , very rubbery and tasteless.
The main meals arrived at same time as starter plates were removed. There was NO break between courses at all.
Very very disappointing visit to what used to be a popular local restaurant. We won’t rush back.

This is a friendly and lively Italian restaurant in Bamford, where you can rely on a consistent level of quality and service, and their are usually others in that we know.
