Dominique Ansel Treehouse
Set within a stunning two-storey space, the modern treehouse design is inspired by exploration and imagination, with casual cafe seating on the ground floor and upstairs in the treehouse canopy. A takeaway bakery counter on the ground floor offers pastries, tart
Booking was cancelled due to lock down you need to adjust your auto emailing so as not to annoy people
Ambiance was amazing, so charm and makes you feel good. But service, stuff needs to train abit more. I dont want to write every single issues but it was poor.
It was my friends birthday i even ask straight i enter at the end can we have any cake with candle and told them happy to pay at the end. They said yes ofcourse. At the end i ordered Profiteroles as i was thinking it will be with serve candle, there was not candle and not even saying happy birthday it was a bit shame service. I am usually fan of Dominique Ansel from Los Angelas and nearby Victoria Station but this will be my last visit unfortunately.
Nice venue, service was ok but never going before i wasn't sure if it was self service or not and had to ask, I didn't feel as welcomed as i would expected . I had booked for lunch but we decided to try and get in earlier for coffee and cake so not sure if a lunch booking would have been serviced better as we were sat on the ground floor .
I would recommend this for the food only the cakes were excellent and would go back if there was better customer service
The desserts are nice, but our experience was ruined by a waiter complaining extremely inappropriately about some kids have made a bit of a mess at the adjacent table. It really wasn’t that bad and was to be expected of 3-4 year olds, but his comments were extremely rude implying that the kids purposely spilled food in order to show their disrespect for the waiter which was most certainly not the case. He complained about it longer than it took him to clean the table and he should have kept quiet and certainly not make it known to the whole dining area. Simply unprofessional.
The food was lovely, so was the service! It was a bit crowded as seating was on the ground floor! Loved the caramel......
Not for food but maybe to grab just a sweet from their bakery.
Loved the unique approach to both the food and the ambience. We really enjoyed our evening, thank you and our waiter was great fun.
It’s such a beautifully designed, calm, unusual place in central London. We love the NY bakery for jet lag Cronuts and have been to the Victoria bakery too. This is a departure from them focusing on savory food. We loved all the dishes. They were really well prepared and tasty ..... but man was it rich? I felt I may get gout if I ate there too often.
I was amazed by the ambiance. The service was excellent and food is nothing of the extraordinary. It was a good and fancy meal out.
I came in with great expectations. The food was decent (but not at the level of a newly opened restaurant) and the service was terrible. Our order was forgotten, and then our server finished his shift without handing over our table and we were left unattended for quite a while. It also took the server 20+ minutes to even welcome us when we sat down. I was looking forward to sharing my experience with my colleagues but unfortunately didn't have too many good things to say.
We had a lovely evening. The food was great but we didn't have dessert because they ran out of almost everything.
The service was poor and the waiter was acting very weird, staring at us for a while in an awkward way. He even tried many times to push us to pay a tip for him!
I would definitely want to go back but never want to be served by him :/
They just should do pastries business as usual. I had high expectation and that is why my partner and I were very disappointed. The food was ok and chicken liver millefeuille was so cheap. It taste like the cheapest chicken liver paste. I have been a loyal customer of the one in Victoria and their pastries is quite enjoyable, so I was very looking forward to have an experience at treehouse. However, the food and restaurant is not something they can do if they keep this level of food quality and taste.
Food was incredible and servers were nice and polite but the wait was long and we booked well in advance but still got a seat downstairs when we had wanted one upstairs to get the full experience. It was noisy downstairs and a bit drafty from the front doors.
They should specify the area in which you sitting upon booking.
Excellent service and food but a little put off by being seated in the cafe part expected to be seated upstairs in the restaurant part. But staff very accommodating and moved us there when we asked . Food was great but expected more vegetables with the lamb but still was filling
Thoroughly enjoyed on a Friday lunchtime. We opted for the small plates options and can particularly recommend the stuffed pasta and the fluffiest gnocchi I have eaten. I am a particular fan of tiramisu and the Treehouse's Tiramisu was easily the best I have eaten for a long, long time. Will definitely return
You can have really nice food if you order the right things, and really bad if you don't. Vol au vent is delicious. Sharing puddings are ok and enough for 3, but style over substance. In general, portions are not generous (an unwelcome trend in London's mid-range restaurants recently) and you can end up either hungry or with a large bill.
The plastic foliage everywhere, particularly in the toilet, look cheap.
The service is bad. We waited for 45 mins for coffee, and no apology.
The greeting staff were the worst, looking at you with disdain as soon as you walk in, then again when you leave. I wanted to like this restaurant, but there are better places in London right now.
Disappointing. Food and service didn’t live up to expectations.
Service was clearly still in training. Many staff but not really delivering
A lot of pomp and glory made over sauce pouring but failed on the basics eg.missed on bringing a few food items, was no where to be found to clear plates, gave us attitude when we gave feedback.
Pasta wasn’t cooked properly. Food was under seasoned.
Gnocchi and creme caramel were the best tasting items we tried.
Decoration was good but again small things overlooked -
The toilet doors in male and female don’t actually open all the way...for a newly launched restaurant they have missed the mark.
We came for dessert and had the chocolate mousse to share - was delightful but very rich (we didn’t finish it).
disappointed that the Profiteroles were not available.
Staff were great and the restaurant itself was beautiful.
Highly recommend to come with a few guest to try various desserts and plates as really they’re just too big to have on your own!
Food was clever-but few light options
Front of house needs some work. Service patchy and slow
Loved loved loved the atmosphere and the food .
Could not have expected any less from Chef Ansel
I took my dad out for dinner and he's usually verrry critical when it comes to restaurants and food. It's not easy to find a location that will satisfy him. But no matter what they put on our table, he loved every bite of it. I can seriously recommend the bread basket, i know it doesn't sound like much but this was the best brioche we ever had. This is a place where you can find joy in the simplest of things.
Really lovely place to go and eat delicious food. Amazing atmosphere. Really enjoyed. 5 stars :)
The Treehouse looks great and we were welcomed nicely. The seating was nice, it didn't feel too crowded. However the table next to ours was very loud and were constantly taking group selfies that spoilt our experience a little.
The food was nice, a little small in some of their portion sizes and we weren't the greatest fans of their profiteroles dessert. Service was a little slow, it seems they need more staff on the upper floor, as we received our food before receiving water and drinks and then had to wait a while even after asking.
Overall was a nice experience but needs a bit of working on.
Unfortunately Dominique Ansel has failed to execute a good eating experience. We waited 20 minutes after our booking, and it took 3 hours for all of food to arrive. My slice of quiche arrived after our puddings. To be fair, the bread basket and puddings were delicious. The cheese with croissant crisps was overdone, and the chicken dish was tiny. The table behind us took selfies the entire time, and the staff were rude when I requested for the optional tip to be removed from our bill. To the point she got a manager to come to our table to ask why we didn't want to pay this. Really dissappointed as I was super excited to take my friend here for her birthday!
Nothing was outstanding.
I loved this cute and quaint place. The decoré and concept were great, food tasty and staff incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Loved the simplicity of the menu but it was packed with flavour.
Gorgeous food, gnocchi and the pastas were a dream. We also loved the sticky toffee pudding and tarte tatin. Service was not good when we got there (seemed to forget about us and our drinks order) but it improved a lot once we'd ordered food
Menu is limited but everything they do is amazing. Staff are kind and helpful.
Food was exceptional and the atmosphere was so warm and beautiful. Great recommendations on food from the waiters.
Nice ambient ..amazing cheese with croassant and tiramissu .. i would recomended to work more on the main dishes. Nice staff very friendly.
Terrible and slow service. We were waiting to get a bill for a 20 mins or more. Food is average.
The restaurant is beautiful and most of the food, apart from the pesto pasta which was undercooked, was excellent. The service however really lets it down. You can tell the restaurant has recently opened and the staff seem very inexperienced. We were seated for about 20 minutes before being approached by a waiter to just order drinks. It was very slow in between courses and very hard to get the staffs attention. The booking was for a birthday and whilst they said happy birthday when we were seated they didn’t bring out any birthday dessert or anything at all which is unusual and was a shame. In the end we didn’t bother to order a coffee because everything took so so long. If the service improves it will a great restaurant.
A good evening with a pleasant atmosphere where we felt relaxed . The gnocchi was great and I would have happily a main course with that. The service was excellent and unobtrusive.
Will happily book again.
A wonderful place to eat. The staff are very generous and friendly, go above and beyond to help you. Thanks for a great experience!
Desapoiting, food okay, amazing desserts and non existing service the staff looks clueless and lost.
Service was not really good, we kept asking and waiting for water...
I would say yes i would recommend but there was a waiter i guess italian, really noisy and was swearing every 2 minutes in front of us. He was really nervous as their colleagues was giving wrong plates to the tables every time. We were sitting upstairs to the treehouse.
It’s a shame as you’re just opened and got a issue the staff already.
Amazing to have Dominique Ansel’s food here now - we were expecting brilliant cakes and desserts but the savoury menu is also absolutely delicious. Will be back soon!
From the minute you walk in it feels like a fairytale. Excellent service, excellent food and beautiful designed.
Great cozy vibe, amazing service and super friendly staff. The burrata, tomato soup and the gnocchi were flawless and tasted incredible and full of flavor. Sadly the pasta with hazelnuts wasn’t up to the level of the other dishes so I wouldn’t order that again. But everything else was stellar and we got so full we didn’t have room for the dessert which looked fantastic. Next time for sure. Definitely a place I would visit again.
