Donnelly's Restaurant, Indoor, at Bermondsey Bar & Kitchen

It was my first time to the restaurant, wasn’t too sure what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised . The menu was not huge, which I liked, and there was an extensive starter/sharing plates section in the menu. A very good combination of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, the beetroot tart got top marks from the table!

The food was amazing, reasonably priced and all four of us at the table would give the chef our compliments.

One of the things that really stood out on top of the excellent food was the excellent service, staff were really nice and friendly and gave us plenty of warning before the bar stopped serving. Thank you for a great experience

Outstanding dining. Been here many times and delighted the full Donnelly’s menu is now back with a bang. One of my favourite chefs in the city right now. Can’t recommend highly enough 👍

Cibo non male, atmosfera un po' troppo caotica, nonostante abbiamo prenotato per tempo ci hanno riservato un tavolo attaccato ad altre due coppie. Servizio quasi inesistente e lunghe attese.

Sehr freundliche Bedienung, überhaupt sind alle sehr aufmerksam, es reicht ein Blickkontakt und schon wird nach den Wünschen gefragt.
Hochwertige Zutaten für ansprechende Mahlzeiten, wir hatten dazu einen sehr guten Wein.

Too much noise. Food nice, but enough. Value for food too expensive

Fantastic food. Like the venue. Although noise from people watching sport in the bar was a bit off-putting. Still had a great meal.

Delicious summer dinner - can highly recommend the korean chicken with potato salad and also tried my friend's seared tuna with salsa on specials board which was yummy and very fresh! Wonderful relaxed setting as we were seated outside in the sun

Le service et les plats étaient rapides et bons malgré le monde et un table en coin de salle. Petit bémol, ils n'ont pas laissé faire une employée qui venait de commencer et faisaient les choses à sa place. Sinon très sympathique endroit et quartier au top.

Had the jerk chicken which was tasty but exceptionally bony. But all fresh ingredients which was great. Prices could be a bit more reasonable. Quite noisy inside so was difficult to talk.

We arrived for a very late lunch but this didn't create any problems. The menu was very reasonably priced, it was varied and also catered for vegetarians and vegans all of which look delicious. Housed in an old warehouse there was also plenty of outside dining and the whole place had a good vibe. We were served with drinks promptly before choosing our meal. Both the starter and the main courses were served timely and not rushed. We had time to kill and made it a 'long lunch' with drinks to follow and there was no hint of us being pressurised to vacate the restaurant. Only one minute walk from The Shard, the service was with a smile and the food was scrumptious and portions were generous. I would highly recommend.

The service was a bit slow, although that didn't bother us on this occasion as we weren't in a hurry. However the food was wonderful. The only down side was that it was a bit noisy - just people noise, not loud music. Overall, a pleasant evening.

Super food and service. Loved that most dishes available as small or large plates. Good value but the wine list could do with some attention...

We were a large, hungover, party with lots of special requests and the team at Donnelly’s took it all in their stride and looked after us really well. There was enough choice of food to keep us all happy (meat eaters, vegis, coeliac, gluten free) and they were great at accomodating the inevitable ‘can I have withouts’. The booze was well priced and the bloody Marys were well made, as was the coffee. The only thing we’d change is the booking ... I booked online for 6 but then phoned, getting no answer, to change it to 15. Ended up having to go in person. So, please start answering your phone!

A genuinely incredible restaurant with a menu that makes you wonder over and over "Why can't I just have it all?" Great service, atmosphere, and food that you're still thinking about days later. Can't wait to go again.

First time here. Service too slow but food was great!

The food was great, and the service very good, but the venue is horrible. This is an extremely noisy bar (music playing quite loud, with speakers over the dining tables that couldn't or wouldn't be turned down). I had resigned myself to the loud music throughout my meal, only to have it turned up even louder at 10pm!! At 10 they also opened up the dining area to patrons only drinking which made it very difficult for the waitstaff to get to the tables.

Despite the food being excellent, once the music went up at 10pm, there was no way I could stay for dessert, which was disappointing.

There should be mention of this situation on open table; but I suppose had I known, I would not have booked....which may be the reason it isn't mentioned.

Really sorry to say, that regardless of the food & service, I would definitely not go back...or recommend it to anyone else.

Food was great, everyone throughly enjoyed their meals.
Noise level was SO loud. Totally understand this is a residency inside a busy pub but it was like eating a meal in a club. Could not have a conversation. Would’ve really appreciated a note from the restaurant regarding this, it’s definitely something worth giving pre warning to because it is quite disappointing. Couple next to us left as soon as they had finished mains due to same reason.
Disappointing because really the food was great and would go back to try the other dishes but couldn’t sit in that loud music again. Just turning it down a few notches would suffice until the kitchen is closed at the very least.

Great to see modern British cooking executed with excellence. Can not wait to return.

It felt like we were in an episode of Restaurant Wars on top chef. It was a bit chaotic, people were running around, didn’t understand the menu, the reservation was on a different system and it was kind of frenetic. Food was good, but they need to train the Bermondsey people on the Donnelley’s pop up and menu

The food was lovely but the service was comically awful.

We ordered a bottle of wine, which we were given but without it being opened or with glasses. We had to ask a couple of times to get our wine glasses, they ran out so had water glasses!

Our food order was awful - we said “one each of the three snacks” and I saw our waiter putting through all of the small plates so I had to correct him, got told we ordered too much but it’s only because someone else’s order was there too! Our bill was wrong but we didn’t feel like we had time to ask as our waiter just asked for our credit cards. When we pointed out it was wrong, we still had to pay for the service charge including the additional orders!

The food was lovely but you could tell maybe they were new at the current location, it was bit of a shame that we felt like we spent half our time searching for a waiter and then being over charged.....

They have a great lunch deal which allows you to sample a range of dishes at a very affordable price. The quality and value for money really is very good given that you're in the heart of London

Delicious dinner in cosy pub atmosphere! So impressed by how exceptional food is - was totally spoilt for choice from the menu, so had as many small plates as we could! Devilled mushroom toast, scallop & salmon tartare, featherblade beef, grilled beetroot and pumpkin, truffle fries - everything was mouthwateringly delicious to go with our prosecco! Even better, managed to get their specials dessert, yummiest baked cheesecake brulee!!

Restaurant is part of a very noisy pub—we were there for dinner. It’s lively but noisy.

Food was excellent and the wine list was good and affordable . Service was friendly and professional.

Dinner with best friend after a show. Food was amazing, atmosphere great and the waitress, Tina, was lovely, helpful and friendly. Will be going back. The restaurant is in the pub on the corner, easy to walk past as I hadn’t read the directions properly!

The initial plan was to meet friends for drinks but due to timings, I wanted to factor in food. The location was important but looking at the menu the decision was easy. Great food.

Waiting staff friendly & attentive. The feather blade of beef was beautiful. Very tender. The waiting staff suggested we order many smaller dishes, rather than just a main course, so we could try more. A great idea. I strongly recommend this. I was in London on a training course & recomended it to colleagues the next day, one of whom said she was going to book the following day.
The food & staff are really great. Loved it.

Donnelly's is currently at the Sun & 13 Cantons which is a lively pub in the middle of Soho and the food was completely and utterly outstanding, so much so I have booked again before they move closer to the Shard. There is an obvious passion of food by the chef you will not be disappointed! Also loved the option of smaller portioned main meals meaning you can try several dishes or share, also amazingly prices. So looking forward to my next visit!!
