Such a great place. Friendly/fun staff, great variety on the menu and, of course, the bourbon. We had a great time! Thank you.
The food and service were great, a very nice Valentine’s Day outing!
Down One Bourbon Bar is a fun atmosphere with great drinks and food. We were there on a special night where we got to celebrate Black History Month with a beautiful tribute to Uncle Nearest Bourbon. My husband says this is the place with the Best Old Fashioned in town.
Down One was very good! The cheese curds were great!!
The food was great and of great quality. Went with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday and everyone was pleased! The service was great and our food came out quickly!
Food was good it had long wait for food.
Great food! Friendly staff. Unique atmosphere
Dinner before sporting event. Fun atmosphere, great service and great food.
We are a group of 6 ushers at Actors Theater who typically "grab a bite" before an ushering gig. We pick place within walking distance of Actors so we do not have to move cars. Down One Bourbon Bar is directly across the street, putting it on our radar. The food and service were fine. We tell the wait staff up front that we have to be out in time to make our Actors call and they were very efficient. The only snag was that the water tasted like in had been stored in a garden hose all day. When we asked about it, they brought us new pitchers for the table and it was fine. Fluke? Who knows. But we'll visit again.
Food and service was just ok...not likely to come back.
As a bourbon bar, the few basic cocktails on the menu should be top-notch, but they are not.
Did not like the food. Service was the only thing good.
Very enjoyable. It was our first time there, and liked the casualness of the place. Also the wait staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. It fit our style just perfectly.
Great Bourbon selection. Food was average. Bread was way too dry. Nothing special.
Cool place. Very limited vegetarian options. Drinks are 11.00 'and up.
My husband and I love this place!
The service team and hostess were prompt and professional. The menu looks good online only. The restaurant was empty except for one table. Our food came out luke warm. The brisket platter had no bbq baked beans. We actually went to Doc Crows after which was AMAZING. Manager gave us accommodation on the bill because he felt bad. They need new cooks in the kitchen. Big disappointment
This was our second visit & we were a little disappointed this time. The food was not as expected. Everything was dry & just sort of blah. Not something I would go back for.
The service was just ok. The staff was friendly, but not very efficient. We were given appetizer plates that had not been washed because we lifted the top plate and there was chips & cheese in the second plate from someone else. I gave them to our waitress and she apologized, but I feel like they should have given us a discount or something more. It was pretty disgusting. She sort of acted like it was not big deal & never mentioned it again.
Service started poorly, as we sat for 20 minutes before being waited on. We could actually hear two waitresses argue over who was going to take our table. Food was cold. We go here before every concert at The YUM! Center. Really disappointed this time.
Good for a quick drink and appetizer but not great for dinner. Drinks okay but not hand crafted. More of a college scene vs an adult night out. Not exactly the atmosphere portrayed on the website.
Best cheese curds ever! Rest of the menu is great, too.
We had reservations during a very busy hour and the staff was very accommodating and had our table ready 15 minutes early, great dining!
It’s a trendy spot right across the Yum! Center. However, the food isn’t great and the drinks are a little pricy. Staff is a bit snooty but the service was good and our server was attentive. All in all, you can’t beat the location if you’re coming in for a concert or event.
We have been enjoying the patio all summer. We had relatives in from out of state this past weekend. We made reservations for Saturday evening. The music by Doug Pinson was great and we had the best server. I don’t recall her name, but she made our evening so enjoyable.
For happy hour I would. Price wise for drinks was pretty pricey
For drinks. Food ok but wife found French fries in salad. Weird. Service great.
The food was very good! I had a pork taco & a brisket taco. It was very busy. Our server was NOT friendly. My friend asked if they had a certain liquor. He never came back with an answer, leaving her with no drink. When he finally reappears, she asks him about it & he says I don’t know, I’ve been busy. We believe the appropriate response should have been, I’m so sorry , it’s busy & I forgot to ask. He did not care at all, never offered to go ask bartender, just took a different order from her. We still tipped, but he didn’t deserve it at all. We had to flag another worker for our bill.
First time at this restaurant and was really excited to check it out. Overall I think the atmosphere is fantastic and really enjoyed the unique patio with greenery. Additionally the food and quality of bourbon selections were fantastic. Unfortunately a lot of this was overshadowed by extremely poor service. Our waitress not only didn’t check on us often but could easily be seen chatting at the host station while we were waiting to order our food. The bourbon flight that we ordered was delicious but the service in which it was delivered was poor and no identification of the different spirits was given until we asked. Additionally she had to come back and ask us sides for our entrees, one of which was still left off in the end! Then when we finally were able to ask for our check she didn’t seem to even understand what we were saying until it was repeated multiple times. I hate giving poor service reviews as I used to be a server years ago but this was truly poor. Either there is more training to be done or there are some people working there that are better fitted for other, less demanding jobs. Really overshadowed a lovely evening.
Was there for lunch - service was good, our food arrived quickly as did the check (they apparently do this to attract those working downtown with tight schedules) it was a good experience - I will go back.
Got here a bit early. There was no clear place to check in. I just stood for a while. Finally someone asked if I needed anything. I said a table and he seated me. From that point one it was a fine experience. I had a selections of tacos which were better than I expected. Other than the beginning, it was a fine experience.
Great service. Inside and outside options.
Had a great dinner date here with my husband. The service was fast & the food was great. The staff was friendly. I definitely will go back
Great atmosphere and bourbon prices were largely fair. I liked the grouping of bourbons by mash bill. While they have an extensive list of bourbons and ryes, many were not available and the bartender acknowledged the list badly needs updating. Even though there were only a few at the bar, wait staff were more focused on chatting with themselves. I was hoping for some expertise and suggestions to try some new bourbons.
Disappointed in this place; it seemed more like a community pool food window then a restaurant on Open Tables....ugh....... food seemed old and stale....drinks overpriced.
Definitely disappointed in this experience after Yelp made it seem premiere for bourbon and delicious food. The bourbon was over priced, the food was subpar, and it was not kid friendly - no changing tables in either bathroom.
Nice patio seating. The fish sandwich and fries were great. The prices were very good.
Prices were reasonable. The old fashioned was not well made. The nachos and brisket grilled cheese were good. The side salad was okay.
Our server was great she made sure we made it to show on time.
Outstanding brisket! Had the bbq brisket sandwich with the jalapeno coke slaw.
