dp An American Brasserie
At just under 2000 sq ft with 18 foot ceilings and an abundance of natural lighting from six oversized windows, dp is a room that demands attention. Our dining room offers a mix of table & banquette seating in a decidedly more casual atmosphere than Yono’s.
It features a 25 foot custom mahogany and granite bar stocked with a full array of spirits, cordials, and of course myriad wines by the glass. We pride our beverage program on fresh, seasonally inspired cocktails, and a by the glass wine program, which changes several times per week, that rivals any in the region. Guests are also invited to peruse the 1,000 selection Wine Spectator “Best of Award of Excellence” winning Yono’s wine list.
Great food and great service as always
Wonderful causal dinner. Delicious burger , fabulous cosmopolitan, yummy French fries and best Irish coffee — first of the season!
Wonderful salmon burger and sweet potato fries with an Irish Coffee.
Server Kathleen was lovely, efficient and very attentive.
Great ambience, super tasty food at a reasonable price. I had a burger with their bacon shallot aioli and was very pleased with the size and the fries
Everything was perfect. I can’t think of a way to make it more special. It was perfect!!
DPs is by far our most favorite restaurant in Albany. Great fun ambiance. Broad menu where everything is terrific. Excellent service. Not to be missed.
Good American style food. Wish you didn’t have to pay for parking as a restaurant guest.
The food and service were amazing. Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive - one even offered me a ride to my car, which was unfortunately towed (my own fault). It’s a very nice atmosphere, quiet and comfortable. Will definitely be back.
dp’s is our favorite restaurant in the entire Capital Region! I cannot say enough about how amazing the entire dining experience is —from start to finish. Our table was ready when we arrived, and our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Our cocktails were perfection (my husband is still raving about his excellent Mai-Tai), and I thoroughly appreciate that Singlecut Half Stack is always available on tap (I cannot find it anywhere else locally). Our entire meal was out of this world: from our calamari appetizer to our entrees (we had the short ribs and burger, both which were incredible). We don’t usually order dessert when we go out, but we HAD to try the citrus-infused doughnut holes, and boy, are we glad we did. They were, honest to God, the best doughnuts I’ve ever had, and I am not exaggerating! (If you go, do NOT skip them!) All in all, a wonderful experience, and we can’t wait to go back!
Another wonderful dinner at DP!! Everything was excellent.
Wonderful staff, food, and environment!
Very good food but my entree came out before the appetizer we ordered. The bar was painfully slow, I didn’t get my first cocktail until 30 minutes after I ordered it.My wife’s salad entree also came out 45 minutes after ordering it. The cocktails were comped due to the horrible timing of our food. The Indonesian noodles with chicken however were outstanding- super hot and fresh and delicious. The sweetbreads in Madeira sauce were delicious and very rich and the lobster salad fresh and tasty. Something is up with management as it is run very haphazardly.
The food was delicious but was a little disappointed in that they didn’t bring our appetizer and didn’t do anything to compensate for it. The place is very pretty and cool atmosphere.
The food was amazing. The waiter was excellent. The food runner was fantastic. Worth the price for the quality of food.
DP’s is always top notch!
Fast and friendly service. Excellent food! Can’t wait to go back again!
DPs is truly one of the best restaurants in Albany by far!!
Never never disappoints- you can tell all the ingredients are fresh!
Everything is delicious and the portions are just perfect! Even if you are full, do not pass up the desserts. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and always friendly!!!
A really pleasant dining experience.
Always enjoy going to dp’s!
We had a great experience at dp. Service was great & friendly, food fresh and innovative. Definitely will be back soon!
Historic Albany Foundation held its Christmas lunch at dp's. We had a great time and were well taken care of. Staff loved their food. Great setting.
I love dp. They have a menu where there is something for everyone and if not on the menu the service staff is right there to help you create something. Their features are great, always fresh ideas. A huge reason I love coming to dp is the drink selections. Great local beers, cocktails and a huge by the glass list. For more of a selection the sister restaurant Yono's has a wine list that rivals some of the best locations in NYC. Highly recommend.
Great food and cocktails, professional and attentive service, warm ambience. Perfect for pre/post show dining.
I hadn't been to dp's An American Brasserie in awhile, and wanted something a bit different for a carnivore and a vegan appetite. We're very glad those delicious warm pretzel nuggets with mustard they serve instead of bread are vegetarian! Started with a refreshing grapefruit martini, and a delicious salad of mixed greens, roasted squash and carrots dressed with a pumpkin seed vinaigrette. Yum. The dp Burger, this one with bacon, avocado and spicy mayo was perfectly medium rare, the fries crisp and hot
An inspired vegan Coconut Curry tofu scallops with jasmine rice, mango chutney and pickled vegetables was so flavorful and hearty beautifully presented. A final twist on Bananas Foster, with a delectable sauce of coconut milk, dark sugar and exotic liqueurs. And lemongrass ice cream. Everything was first rate, service attentive, relaxed but lively bistro atmosphere. Dp's is a great place to come back to! We'll be back again, soon.
Terrible. This place needs to close.
Love going to the Brasserie. One of our favorite places to go
Food was excellent, as always. The service was pretty slow and even when we told them we had a show to get to, the server was still very slow and absent-minded.
DP's accepted my reservation. I arrived, with a very important guest.
The Place was closed.
So I had to make profound apologies.
I took him to Jack's instead and we were made, as always, very welcome.
I love DP's, but why did you accept my reservation, if you knew you would be closed????
On Saturday 11/9 had both the fish special and the beef bourginon. Fish was excellent but the beef was tasteless.
Noise level was out of control. We were seated at a small table and still could not hear each other speak.
Do not got here in hope or hunger.
Personable waitress, but all drinks and food were ultimately a let down.
Food was fine, but not delicious. Likely stick to burgers and fries.
One cab franc was served the color of robitussin. I actually ordered a vouvray white wine and received a viognier without understanding the distinction. My Prosecco was flat.
The salads had a lot of wilt to them.
Teas were painfully weak, an earl grey looking the color of a green tea. If you had added any cream, it would have been laughable.
I think serving many of the wines was questionable as they tasted as though they had been opened for some time, and especially considering one wine served was bright liking cranberry juice.
We ended up spending over an hour there, with a very empty dining room and it could have taken 45 with no issue.
We had an excellent meal, in good company, with good service. Especially appreciated assistant chef (?) suggestion of dessert not on the menu. Grand marnier cake, yum!
Outstanding food. Great service prior to concert.
